Yup. And that "bought Tali a planet for Christmas" thing for a long time ago, too. (I think)
I thought I had that bookmarked somewhere but can't find anything.
@Troodon
I like that. I'm almost 100% sure Admiral Daro'Xenophobia will force us to kill her in ME3. Tis true that it's fun to speculate, tho.

Heh. I've heard that a lot actually. But I'll stick with Tali, since I'm mostly Paragon.Saphra Deden wrote...
Nice. The Paragon/Renegade system defined as two different but sexy quarians. I wish it was this way in the game. Xen is more my kind of girl, most definitely.
I always hate seing Sheploo though.
Aye, I just can't be bothered designing my own Shepard because he always come out hideous(Yeah, I suck at it). But besides that, it's easier to use the default face with 3dsmax.
Uh, was this the one:I thought I had that bookmarked somewhere but can't find anything.
i can imagine shepard's first christmas with tali onboard being really awkward. first he gets a box of chocolates for his little shotgun-toting engineer buddy, but then garrus mentions that quarians are amino-dextrous, so the chocolate would kill her.
shepard then remembers her love for both tech and shotguns and ponies up for the best shotgun on the market, along with anti-synthetic ammo mods. he drops by wrex to have him check them out, only to have wrex mention that during one of their elevator rides, tali mentioned her pride in her tech and salvage skills, such that she'd rather make weapons than buy them, and would never like a purchased weapon for a present. wrex then adds that that's an awfully big box of chocolates, and wrex would be happy to hang onto both it and the new shotgun while shepard figures out a new gift for tali.
at this point, shepard says "screw it!" and gets her a gift card at omni-gel emporium. just as he's about to sneak it into tali's stocking (one of six hung up over the galaxy map, one of two with the big toe-sleeves, and the only toe-sleeved one that doesn't have "garrus vakarian" stitched on it, with "spectre" stitched under it and then crossed out with "c-sec officer" stitched under that, in turn also crossed out with "galactic bada" stitched at the bottom and clearly not quite finished in time for christmas), shepard hears joker laughing about the system they've just passed, which has survey teams selling planetary rights to barely habitable worlds for cheap. and shepard remembers tali's stories about what happened with the geth, and how her people are homeless, driven from their world.
in the morning, as they all gather in c&c to unwrap presents, tali is confused by the wrapped box that contains nothing but a card... until she realizes how hard it is to wrap a new homeworld.
(liara is, by the way, really touched by shepard's thoughtfulness in getting her that omni-gel gift card.)
(If this isn't the one, then I don't remember another one. If someone finds it, could you post it?)

A human visionary with a fetish?, lordy. Guess when you think about it, it does kind of suck that at the end of the it is just a game. You can't help but wish you could exist during that time. Of course with all this hoopla about nanobots and living longer coming about in 2029 or 2040 ya never know.
I'm with you there.
Hell, when I was a kid, I was planning on getting a doctorate in physics so I could invent warp drive or something similar. But none of that happened, and the one very limited space vehicle we have is getting retired.
I guess my dreams of being captain of a ship with a harem of green slave girls is gone.
Bleh I wouldn't write it off as 'just a game'. Technically it is, but i'm sure there are many a successful archaelogists and anthropologists who were inspired by Indiana Jones. There's definitely a crapload of NASA, ESA, and JPL people who were inspired by Star Trek. There's no reason this can't be a source of inspiration for somebody to strive to put us on the right path to kick ass space travel, even if still takes a century or two. In the grand scheme of things, 2 centuries is nothing. What's to say that what takes us 200 years to develop, takes another sentient race 2000 years to develop....maybe humans are fast learners even if we are behind (temporarily).
I stopped calling it "just a game" after my first playthrough and realized just how popular it was when i took a look at the forums. It like reawakened my childhood dream of being in space (thanks Star Wars in the first place). Well if push comes to shove and this nanocrap works Im optimistic by 2100 we'll start putting life into some new space programs. Besides i can't be a space bounty hunter on earth =/.

Aye. I usually put a couple of directional lights on the Tali's visor, usually works well enough, then the rest is usually omnidirectional lighting of varying intensity and distances.MadMapper wrote...
Nice one Troodonyou could try and play with some other directional light sources on that render and see what happens

It's just the 'red' and 'blue' looked more intense than the black space. But on my other couple computers they seem ... lacking. But there you go. Not really much I can do except up the contrast and colour for the picture I used as the background. I might get around to doing later. Not sure though.

*edit* I know it might have something to do with the helmets of the Quarian's suits, but they didn't always wear them and the Geth were created before they had to start using them right? Maybe im just looking too much into it.

When deciding on an actual 'face' for the geth platforms, why not use a form familiar to them?

It is quite possible that they were modeled after the quarian helmet. Although they wear the environmental suits all the time now, before, when Rannoch was still theirs, off world travel would still have been dangerous to them. Visiting any other planet or the Citadel would, in my belief, required the use of the same suits they are now forced to wear always.

Ah okay, just got a little confused and needed some clarifying. Oh hey btw great stories you got on the fanfiction site, im still reading "To Survive" top notch stuff man.

I'd trust your opinion though you obviously know a hell of a lot more than me. Yeah the whole glowing eyes thing didn't make much sense to me either. I think the devs did it as more of a "hey this is where her eyes are so you can get an idea of the face's location" sorta thing.
^ Legion can already dance he's got more than enough to ask for lol.

Manual labor in dark underground mines. So they needed a desk lamp for a head to use as a light source! Oh yeah, it's all comin togethermrsph wrote...
The geth were designed to do hard and dangerous labor the quarians didn't want to do. It makes sense that their suits (which would be used for dangerous expeditions before their exile) would look similar to the geth.
