Goat, I got to tell you, between you and Gust4v, I'm gathering a nice collection of screenies. You both do good work. Like that one with Tali and Jack ( Jack's my other woman, ssssh).

edit; @ Faust_ I tried to beat you to the top, but it's still your turn in the pickle barrel. Nice pic by the way.

"In the year 2183, an Alliance marine on the Citadel discovered a member of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the years that followed, this intriguing Quarian teamed up with this marine and his Turian companion, enabling the survival of all sentient life in the galaxy. The Basis for this incredible feat was a force that swayed the heart of one very special human.
They called it the greatest duo in galactic history.
The crew of the Normandy called it...
Tali Effect"

Just thought I ought to post that here...

Goat. It is nice to see you again.

Don't believe this has been seen on the main thread yet though I could be wrong.

Wouldnt touch Jack with a ten foot biotic, a bit too rabid for me, then again I suppose thats what being kept as a "pet" will do to you, though bar that, her storyline seemed a bit thin to me, sort of 'this happened in my childhood' and yes now you look alot older and manlier, explain that?

Mind you, I didnt look into it more than that, the character just doesnt interest me personally, mind you, I cant really say I took to any of the ME2 characters, they all just felt a bit... thin on the character development, only excuse for that really is Grunt.

What can I say, the only character addition in the 'next' installment of a game I've ever really taken to is Keldorn, Kagain and technically "myself", but then I feel the older games were more fleshed out with dialogue, especially when it comes to series as a whole the 'first' of any series. I guess its just one of those things the sequel never lives up to expectation.

Which is why I found Tali interesting, heck I talked to all the characters generally in ME1, but then you do have that issue of them trying to dry hump you into the wall, I suppose Tali and Garrus were a little different there being non-LI in that one afterall, didnt speak to Wrex much, bar than the frankly 'required' Shepard/Wrex comments.

Maybe they'll build more on character development in ME3, being that we can just ignore the reapers for 20 minutes and go for a chat and a side quest... or something.

Yeah I've never been stolen as a newborn to be raised as a torture slave, so I can't presume to know the reasoning for her fashion sense. She kept the haircut from the cult she joined, yet another thing I have no participant experience in.

I didn't look into much of any of the characters that weren't immediately praising me for my good deeds, I didn't like Jack or Wrex or Sten or any of those kinds of characters, until I forced myself to speak to them fully. The fleshing out of their stories is why Tali and Garrus are my favorites, they've had the time to make their mark, so ME3 should be really special.

You absolutely must explore all of Wrex's dialogue + his personal mission, tho. That's unforgivable :D

Well 2 and a half, infiltrator made me angry face so i quit. Besides i wanted to get rid of ashley as a past romance so i went back to ME1 to sort that right out :D.

A human visionary with a fetish?, lordy. Guess when you think about it, it does kind of suck that at the end of the it is just a game. You can't help but wish you could exist during that time. Of course with all this hoopla about nanobots and living longer coming about in 2029 or 2040 ya never know.

I'm with you there.

Hell, when I was a kid, I was planning on getting a doctorate in physics so I could invent warp drive or something similar.  But none of that happened, and the one very limited space vehicle we have is getting retired.

I guess my dreams of being captain of a ship with a harem of green slave girls is gone.

Bleh I wouldn't write it off as 'just a game'.  Technically it is, but i'm sure there are many a successful archaelogists and anthropologists who were inspired by Indiana Jones.  There's definitely a crapload of NASA, ESA, and JPL people who were inspired by Star Trek.  There's no reason this can't be a source of inspiration for somebody to strive to put us on the right path to kick ass space travel, even if still takes a century or two.  In the grand scheme of things, 2 centuries is nothing.  What's to say that what takes us 200 years to develop, takes another sentient race 2000 years to develop....maybe humans are fast learners even if we are behind (temporarily).

I stopped calling it "just a game" after my first playthrough and realized just how popular it was when i took a look at the forums. It like reawakened my childhood dream of being in space (thanks Star Wars in the first place). Well if push comes to shove and this nanocrap works Im optimistic by 2100 we'll start putting life into some new space programs. Besides i can't be a space bounty hunter on earth =/.

*edit* btw goat bad ass picture i put it on my desktop mass effect theme i see him saying "Back for more?"

When I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be captain of a space ship with a harem of green orion girls.

Unfortunately, the state of space exploration has dashed these dreams and it seems the only thing I'll ever be captain of is a jon boat.

I think I did on my 'marksman' run not so long ago, for the battle armour, though I really do need to go through ME1 and 2 on my main saves again and reimport for fixing the LI issue I currently have after experimenting.  Mainly lots of stuff from Wrex about him being a merc around the place doing all sorts, and then his escapade into forcing someone to make him their bodyguard until they died.

I just wish the steam version would automatically install the free DLC content and have the paid content available, I cba getting it from EA directly.

Still, it didnt seem to affect anything in the rest of the game that I know of, or heard of anyway so whatever.  Then I can set Tali up as my only LI and not have an angry Asari (who seems to have an obsession with you) then get rejection issues, cant imagine they'd pair up well...  Oh and I also get to nuke Ashley instead of Kaiden, since I only kept her due to her being a pure soldier, and then never used her anyway so, doesnt matter, can imagine Kaiden has a better attitude for helping Quarians, as Ashley seemed a bit 'Anti-alien' even after being with them for so long.  Plus she seemed a bit ****y in ME2 whereas Kaiden was more 'you had your reasons'.

Not sure about you but I'd rather have someone who was a little easier to work with if you have to deal with delicate Quarian issues, more so if an alliance representative has to be present.

Yeah i trashed ashley too, after realizing there could be "repercussions" in ME3 for having a past relationship and as you said, girls a pain in the ass i found myself liking her less n less.  Plus Kaiden wound up being a favorite follower of mine in the first one.

You're absolutely right. People find Kaiden boring, but he kicked the head off a turian! That's freakin awesome! I personally find him pleasant, the polar opposite of Ash (who is now ash). Sorry for anyone who takes offense, but someone has to go. In her defense, I believe there is dialogue with her and Tali where Tali talks about the discrimination of quarians and Ashley says "Well, hopefully you helping us stop Saren will change people's minds", which sounded like great development, but that was it. They could have, should have elaborated on that more, but it's PRESSLY who ends up changing his racist point of view after spending time with aliens. PRESSLY?!
