I'm surprised there wasn't just a tiny bit of spark between reegar and tali. That guy kicks ass, and his line about refusing to die in the middle of a battle from an infection had me rofl'ing for years.

Reegar lifts his visor, spits out a big wad of chew; "Ain't got time to bleed"

hahahahahahahaahaha.  oh man that rules.  he keeps up lines like that and he's bound to be governor of the whole damn flotilla.  He may not be big enough for the mini-gun though.

I've noticed quarian chicks can have 2 accents....californian and eastern block/middle eastern.

That topic is a minefield. It would probably be better for the serenity of the thread if romance discussions kept to Tali's relationship with Shepard.

@ImmortalWarrior, I agree that Quarians would have similar faces to humans (no mandibles, for the love of god).
With regards to your description of Quarian eyes, I like that idea as well.

One other possiblity I believe in, is that they have black pupils, gray irises and regular white for the rest (like in this picture). I kind of like this idea since it helps me to clearly see where someone is looking, just my opinion though.

Indeed it's unmodded. The placeholder is just a placeholder, but they can't venture far from that look unless they explain that the visor has optical illusion capabilities.

@Flashheart

I concur.

Come now, we're all mature enough to discuss hypotheticals, right?.....riiiiiight? :?

I know what you mean :P I always wondered what quarians did when they had an itch, or if sweat dripped into their eye during combat or....or if they cried :crying:  I guess they'd just ignore the irritation and rapidly blink until the moisture was gone.

Hah! Of course. I actually named my renegade femshep Vera. She's a hair trigger

Reegar's got a one-track mind, duty duty martyrdom martyrdom, so much it actually irritates me, but that's just my preference. Tali cares about him more than most quarians but Reegar still doesn't seem the type. Too awkward. Tali and Garrus, on the other hand, have a lot more history, and in a playthrough where I don't romance her, I could see their snarkiness being compatable.

I bet you start with Tali as a squad mate, I got her exonerated but if you didn't where would she go?

She's 'vas Normandy', so.....if you didn't get her exonerated, she would be down in engineering rigging Shepard's omni-tool to explode with confetti the next time he uses it. :?

LOL at the manibles.  Totally agree.  I've never seen that picture before and I think it is fantastic and very very plausible.  Tali has very tiny feminin, almost ANIME (dare I say it) features.

@Goat

And yeah, though it is just a placeholder, I agree they can't stray too far from it.  Remember that Casey states that they planned the trilogy out, they likely planned to update her placeholder face the way they did so it better reflects their idea of what she, and quarians in general, look like.

I think Kal does have a crush on Tali I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere along the line he says so I mean she asks him specifically to call her Tali and he says as if he's both smiling and blushing, " I'll work on that ma'am." the way he is so courteous to her makes me definitely think he really likes her and who wouldn't if they got to know her?

Maybe they'll have a DA moment where shep has to figure out make her date Kal and become Admiralty and the future Queen/sole councilor of Rannoch or stay with shep get exiled and be shunned from Rannoch after all we have no clue on how the flotilla views human/Quarian relations it seems they're more ok with Turian/Quarian relationships as cited by fleet and flotilla and the Turian/Quarian couple on Illium.

I would like to see some conflict in the fleet over this say it gets out shep and Tali are dating would Rann still like him? She seemed a nice enough woman when we met her but then again she forgot to tell Tali her dad was dead too....I want to know will the Quarians get in an uproar over this or won't they?

I would get a kick out of this, because given the situation, a likely dialogue wheel response would be  "Seriously?! The Reapers are baring down on each and every race for  annihilation and you want to discredit me for having a relationship with one of your kind? **** off! I need to go save the galaxy"!

The Alliance has the Normandy. I don't think they will let her stay in the ship.

Poor Tali, the Normandy is her home.

I don't think Shep is going to let them say no.

Normandy Guard: Sorry commander, the Quarian can't come in.
Shep: What?! Why?
NG: Commander, you know the Alliance's position on-
Shep: The Alliance can kiss my ***! Come on Tali.
NG: Sir, I can't-

Shep: Move private, now.

NG: My superior won't let you go with the Quarian on-board Commander.

Excellent point. I wonder if they'll update the placeholder again. :P

Damnit! Why didn't I think of this! I'm hoping there is a very short scene where they explain why the nonhumans are vacant, but when the Reapers start destroying everything, I suspect all sense of protocol goes out the window.

Shepard and his crew never get a break :pinched:

Indeed, I wonder if they'll change her envirosuit again. Or maybe she'll have her AA outfit on. They did imply that everyone will have a redesign, but I prefer the original.

It's super!

Honestly I WANT a redesign of Tali's outfit:I'm curious to see if BW will be good enough to make her looking even better. Surely not something so radical as her change of look between ME1 and 2: that was justified bevause she completed her pilgramage and because she's the daughter of an hight-ranked quarian. Now hmm, we'll see. I guess she won't change again the shape or her hood at least, it one of the things that makes more distinguishible among the other quarians.

Just taking a look at this pic, appears unmodified as that is exactly what I see in game.  She clearly has a human/asari face structure.  Clearly is a mammal analogue.  Unfortunately for the people wanting her to look REALLY alien...not gonna happen.  We can already see much of her face structure through the outlines we can see through the mask.  No manibles or predator teeth methinks...

As for her eyes, we had this discussion a long time ago in this thread, but I believe her eyes should appear as a smaller, white version of Thane's.  Her eyes are clearly relatively "human" shaped, though the spacing is a little different and they seem to be more angled backward as though she has a more narrow facial structure in the profile direction.  Thane's eyes are dark black, but when he goes into his "memory" scenes his eye color lightens up and his iris becomes clearly visible.  Apply this same idea to Tali only use white eyes where her iris is mostly obscured by the white, but still there.

I doubt they are bioluminescent.  With the total white eyes it could be used to justify the reflection of light. In addition to using the fact that Rannoch has a dimmer sun, making it likely that quarians have better nightvision than humans, the part of the eye that is reflective in nocturnal animals on earth can be reflective in their eyes for the same reason.

Once you take all of that into account, imho, you have the most likely scenario for what the quarian eyes look like.

Thundertactics' blog show pictures of the placeholder, but I mostly agree with what you've detailed.

Thing is, the placeholder is just the placeholder, and in truth we can't really see anything apart from the nose(on female quarians, males just seem to have a lump attached to their 'face') and eyes, so Tali's(or indeed any quarians) face is pretty much open to interpretation as to what they look like. I honestly wouldn't mind them sticking to something along the same lines as the placeholder, but then again I'm not overly fussy one way or the other. But as Goat_Shepard already said, they can't really venture too far from the placeholder. Mainly for the fact that it currently fits into the helmet with no problem, any redesigns the the facial structure, or the structure of the head, may require redesigns to the helmet, all this stuff takes time, and time is money. If they've got a placeholder that does the job, then there's no need to venture too far from that.

We also know she has "hair", because of this:
So she's ...going to be very human like.

Not sure that's completely correct. I'm pretty sure it's more of a metaphor about the hood.

He does say "represented in the hood" just a little after that.
