Yeah Mr. Watts was talking about the hood design as their idea of an artistic "representation" of hair. So the only thing we know is that the hood sort of looks like hair. Doesn't tell us much for the humanization of Tali, not even from Tali's point of view.

We also know she has "hair", because of this:
So she's ...going to be very human like.

Not sure that's completely correct. I'm pretty sure it's more of a metaphore about the hood.

He does say "represented in the hood" just s little after that.

True, but he does mention hair often. ...Too often if you ask me. :P But oh well, I'm just too hopeful I guess.

But, one must ask, why make a hood a metaphor for something not present? The fact it was made to resemble hair, does imply that they do have it.
Though, as I have mentioned earlier. I can't see any quarian with hair with their helmets. Either by cybernetic implants or nanobarbers, it would have to be kept even shorter than Jacks.

Edited to add.  IMO

True enough.

I prefer this representation. Something not overly spectacular, something relativity plain. But with a mixture of some of the things mentioned here. But again, I'm honestly not bothered, I'll be happy with whatever BioWare comes out with, or not, whichever the case may be.

lol I saw that. Jacob's hair not short enough for you, eh? :P

These aliens were created by humans, so we constantly see a lot of human characteristic in their design and personality. Like Kaiden said, aliens aren't different or special, they're jerks and saints, just like us. Watts was speaking from a purely artistic perspective, imo. I agree with your hair assessment, though, but at this point Bioware could explain both extremes with superior sci-fi reasoning :lol:

@Troodon

I dig it. Hairless Tali is a smooth Tali B)

@TMA

I agree. Or it's meant to be what they can no longer enjoy as a luxury (due to it being cropped short)

Just like any soldier would have their hair cropped short for the comfort of a hard suit and helmet, it makes sense to me that Tali and the quarian's would have to do something about hair length or modification. I just can't picture Tali finally taking off her helmet in a reveal to show she's been hiding a ponytail. It would just be......odd. But what the heck do I know.

Casey: "You must make Tali's suit even more spectacular!"

Watts: "But it's already perfect! I have a wife, a child. If I had known--"

Casey: "There is no turning back."

Watts: "No, you ask too much. There is no glory in this!" *draws his sword*

*Casey stabs Watts*
"I am sorry"

Goat, you mention Mass Effect fields and I'm gonna...  Laugh?

Though, personally, I would love to see flowing hair cascading down from her head.  Unless BW just continues to ignore certain undeliable facts, there can be no hair of any length within Tali's or any quarian's helmet.
But I will admit, completely bald does bring to mind things best left for other threads.  :)

I just wonder what she'd have to do about hair growth with all the time spent with Shepard, afterall she cant exactly go 'brb I need a haircut' and there aernt many places that we come into contact with or know of that support their needs, I can imagine personal grooming would be a bit of a bugger for Pilgrimages and the like, afterall, if I let my hair grow for a year without doing anything to it, it either for some reason stays woefully short, or I end up looking like Cousin IT.

Wonder if they take suppliments for prevention of hair growth lol.

Many people, I think, assume that by cybernetics, we end up with a creature best suited for one of the Star Trek episodes with the Borg.
Cybernetics can be simply an internal mechanism to assist in controlling certain bodily functions such as weight, health and yes, even hair growth. That is, if they do indeed have hair.
Before Tali had her first suit, she could very well have had a full head of hair but now, that is suppressed by by enzymes or hormones within her.
Just a guess.

Perhaps not, but in my defense, Jack didn't really give me a choice.

If Tali initially disapproved, she at least couldn't sympathize after this;

I checked the sound files...
When you listen Elnora's log:

If Elnora is dead:

Tali: Elnora was the killer. It's a good thing we took her out.

If Elnora is alive:

Tali: Elnora was the killer? We shouldn't have let her go!

Note: The 'We shouldn't have' part sounds delicious.
:P

Well, that's all the info we have.

It's little things like that which are the reason I only have 1 legit import out of 7.

Ohh, I see, then you must have refused to give the geth data to Tali in ME1 telling her she can try to petition the Alliance to receive it after the mission, eh? ;)

No, he was an idiot and a moron. He didn't even bother with the geth data, or didn't bother to find it. I don't even remember now. He was not fun to play. He rolled the Mako so many times, even Wrex puked.
