So, there's been many tweets lately about new romances in ME3 from Casey and the like.

Would you like if Tali is bi in ME3?

Throwing all intelligent caution to the wind......NO. I said it and that's all I'm going to say (I think.....)

edit; Are we sure we want to open up that can of worms here? Isn't there already 4-500 pages in another thread?

Definately. I wanted to do just that with my FemShep during ME2.

I just hope they don't make the male/female scenarios overly similar.(cookie-cutter)

There just seems to be so many hints and things pointing towards quarian's having hair.

They're mammals, so it's possible. What else?

Why did I d'aaaaw reading this?

Because if d'aww was personified, it would be you :P Now imagine Tali taking off her mask and flicking her head to get the bangs out of her eyes. Now how do you feel?

I'm taking a class on India, and I keep being reminded of the Quarians. Pilgrimage, flotilla, very family oriented. I also read a part that said that "Tali" meant "Tray" (as in what you eat off of). Not to mention their head gear. But then why is there accent Russian? O.o

I think you're looking too much into this :P very interesting information nonetheless, and it's not the first time I've seen quarians compared to middle-eastern(ish) cultures.

Well I think that in that vid that Casey's remark about the illusion of hair created by her changing veil from ME1 to ME2 (as opposed to actual hair) kinda implied she would be a bald chick.

But Bioware have been working on unmasked concept art, but last I heard not even they know what she looks like yet.

Also. I imagine Tali without hair, but I would still like to see an alien race with hair. Volus maybe? :P

I'm not sure what to get from Mr. Watt's comments. Since the game is made by humans, for humans, I understand the reasoning for the hood's representation of hair. From a story-line perspective, the only reason I see the quarians wearing their hoods like that is if it's simply cosmetically appealing to them, that maybe the females find the tubes attached to their helmets to be unattractive. When I see the male quarian's "hoods" I'm convinced it's purely decorative.

A lot of factors will determine what I think about that. I'd feel cheated if Tali is bi but I can't bend Garrus over the main battery ;)

Well if previous games are any indicator, they will.

Good point. I still have a tiny bit of hope that they'll be swinging for the fences this time around, trying to impress fans.

If it's that new Verga or Vegas guy fine but outside of Jack from all other squadmates from ME - ME2 no I'd hate it if suddenly all my supposed friends suddenly want to get in my pants when my shep is their sex. But it is weird the not gay mshep suddenly will accept advances.

EDIT: With the whole Tali's hair bit I think she does have some her hood appears to have something weighing it in that shape unlike her veil in ME had. I would imagine her to have hair that is long and no bangs. The style would be very plain but for her situation (being in a suit) it fits perfectly.

I think that it's fine - of course you won't have to have your Shepard express any interest in men, lest certain people's heads explode.

So far as Tali being bisexual. Right now there's some ambiguity about whether there are going to be new love interests. If there are new love interests and one of them is female, I'd prefer that new female love interest be bisexual, than Tali. The sole reason is that it's obviously more believable that this entirely new character is interested in the same sex, than it would be a pre-existing character who up until this point could only be romanced by the opposite sex.

I'd also like to note that there's already Liara for F/F. That doesn't mean there shouldn't be any more F/F stuff in ME3, but I'd say M/M is more important at this point, since there's been 0 M/M stuff so far. There's a lot of catching up that gay Shepard has to do.

If they have to choose a pre-existing female love interest for F/F, Tali would be the best choice, as her interactions and romance with Shepard seem to be mostly gender neutral and she has no prior romantic history.

No problems with a bisex Tali, but in my games she'll remain ManShep's business.

You know as well as I do that that's not the point.  To use a metaphor, instead of Garrus laughing at my "you were always ugly" jokes, he'll say "I hear some men find facial scars attractive". The bro-hug is now going to be awkward. I don't have a problem with homosexuals, I have a problem with straight characters turned bisexual to pander.

I agree, but with everyone else it seems like an extreme retcon.

I hear ya. The Witcher 2 is three days away and I can't stop thinking about a game that won't release for another 7-8 months :pinched:

The power of character attachment!
*snip*

I pre-ordered Witcher and was looking forward to it a lot. But with so many new things to discuss about ME and its amazing characters (Tali especially) it fades out. I'll still enjoy the game but not as much as I would do without ME.
I hate this.<_<

Goat_Shepard wrote...
Hmmm, have you guys romanced someone besides Tali as maleShep?

Lost count on my playthroughs but I always played maleShep (For obvious reason) and always romanced Tali if I remember. I just can't say "no" when she opens her heart to me :crying:
But I always wanted to see her non-romance dialogues so I'll probably try femShep, where I don't have to reject her "romance offer".
Have no idea who will I romance as femShep though... Garrus is a bro, I can't romance him. In Jacob is already interested Kasumi. And Thane with his perfect memories of his wife... No, probably will stay alone (With my best friend Tali ^_^)

LoL. But seriously I picked up Ash because
I still felt strange romancing an alien the first time I've played ME,
but she never appealed much to me as LI. She's an interesting character,
but not so much.

Oddly enough I got the same feeling, but I've never liked Ash too much for her xenophobe opinions.
Tried Liara then and, hey, it wasn't that bad. Thought she will be my main LI because I considered Tali more as my best friend than anything else. Then Freedom's Progress happened and something changed (Luckily )

I'm gonna be mad if we get another bald alien. Seriously, what is it with sci-fi and bald chicks? That crap is disgusting.

I wouldn't say disgusting but seeing finally a non-bald alien would be great.
And I think there's no problem for Quarians to keep very short hair in their helmets.
But it's Tali. I don't care if she's bald or have an afro (Creepy thought:blink:)

Illusion
of hair... Keeping an illusion of hair can indicate that Quarian women
used to have a long hair and decided to keep it at least in this form.
The meaning of it being illusion of hair is only used by Casey but I
think it could work even for Quarians themselves.
About Tali's
concept. I think I saw some mod say once that they have a good idea of
how Tali would look like but who knows. But it was a long time ago, in
the old thread.

That's Garrus, not Shepard though. If they are maintaining the same amount of choice that they've always had, having your Shepard be gay in whatever way would be completely optional and not forced upon you. I do agree that I prefer character sexualities to remain as they were (or as they appeared to be), but that's separate from how one chooses their Shepard to act.

Who cares if Tali has hair or not. That BW may retcon her preferences to be both male and female is wrong.  She likes men, real men, like Shepard.  I just want to know 'Can she move into thier cabin, where she belongs?" and "Can Shepard install an airlock there?"

Besides the reasons I've already listed, Tali's writer is apparently quite LGBT friendly (and Tali's voice actor was in a LGBT film too, I believe) so that seems to make her more likely as the F/F candidate.

And there is this. that can be interpreted several ways.

Jack and Tali actually made a lot of sense for S/S romances in 2.

Yeah, that's in the end the RP element in it. I remember the same discussion about DA2 LIs being all bisexuals which is not true.
Male and female playthoughs are separated so you can only say if they're interested in the gender you're playing for right now.
That means possible homosexual male and heterosexual female companions as male Hawke and the opposite as female Hawke but not definitely bisexuals. Same goes for possible bisexuals in ME3.
And since I'll stay with Tali with my maleShep I don't really care :D

Yea, so long as that isn't changed I mostly don't care.
The only thing that ever really bothered me about any bisexual romance was Zevran implying that he preferred women to the male warden. Most people don't want to hear from their partner that they prefer another gender and that you're second best. But I doubt that they're going to do that with Tali, so.

Yeah it's super cute...Very strong friendship wise, since it doesn't have to be taken in a sexual way at all.

If Tali will be intrested in a female Shepard, she will most likely be pansexual(which makes the most sense), which means you won't have to worry about Tali saying she prefers women over your Shepard.

Indeed. Once I found out most of the characters were returning (a thought I wasn't entertaining so my heart wouldn't be broken) I couldn't get into TW2 hype. Then they actually revealed how ME3 was going to be jam-packed full of epicness in RPG and action and every other element.
Damn you Bioware.

Give Jacob a chance, Kasumi doesn't really change anything. He has a pretty dynamic romance that I hear "the prize" turned people away from (among other things related to femShep)

It's not about "forcing" romances, because they're not, but the ambient dialogue is forced, and it breaks the immersion. Having to walk on eggshells dodging the romance dialogue and wondering if he's getting turned on from my bro-hug due to him literally being turned on by the same bro-hug in a different sequence.

Tali is too polite to say that openly to Shep.
But I still think that new romances shouldn't be possible since there won't be another game to build up the relationship.
They'd be like "last-minute" romances for those who haven't chosen yet.
