Yes and no.  While I do so love Tali, she honestly should not have Combat Drone.  No squaddie other than Shepard should.  It is the only 'unique' power that Engineers have.  Same with Adrenaline Rush, Singularity, Tactical Cloak, Tech Armor, and Charge.  That, or engineers should have gotten a different unique ability.

I'd prefer to give the engineer something else than take Chiktikka away.  It's a part of her character I've gotten used to at this point.

Heh, the engineer could use a tech mine instead.

I like that Tali and Legion, and my engineer all have Drones.

It gives the fight... a different flavour.

But yes the engineer seems gimped in comparison to other classes.

I like that the upgrades costs less for the Engineer, though. Perhaps to compensate for the sucky special power.

I didn't even know this until a short time ago.  Sort of like how dead Mordin increases the cost of upgrades.

It would be interesting to see more of this in ME3.  It would also give characters we otherwise leave sitting around on the Normandy a reason to be appreciated.

I wonder what "logistic" benefit Tali would provide.

Upgrades cost less for engineers? That's great. I've got a new engineer (my first) most of the way through ME1. I need to hurry and get that guy into ME2. It sounds interesting.

And with Tali, it would need to be something tech related. The various ship upgrades do a little of this already, but it would be even better if the upgrades made a bigger impact on the game somehow. In combat or something.

Jack could store entire implant schematics in her pretty head.  Jack could provide some small reduction to biotic upgrade research costs.

Now that I think about it, it would be cool if each squadmate's "class" brought some passive bonus to a corresponding damage type, in the same way Miranda increases everyone's weapon damage.  If someone is a hybrid class, they provide multiple, smaller bonuses.

Whoa, this is new to me as well. And a non-recruited Tali means you don't get the shield upgrade for the SR-2, so that's her "benefit" for ME2. I reckon her being dead in ME3 means you will miss out on some upgrades too... (It would also make you a heartless monster unfit to live, but that's beside the point. >_>)

Or maybe you can tell Tali to work on a upgrade, give her some resources, and after a while you get the upgrade.

Anything that's better than the current upgrade system. I don't like missing out on upgrades just because I didn't look in every corner in the building.

I figure that the default Shepard is gonna have a good chunk of the ME2 cast alive.
Tali, Garrus, Mordin, Miranda, Jacob at least.
Unless they decide to introduce a "Whole New Cast!"

It looks like ME3 is gonna be an army building simulator like DA:O was, so Tali would probably...boost whatever we get from the quarians.

Or maybe have fewer upgrades but they get better and better as time goes on. Sort of turn the Normandy into a stronghold quest. So maybe Tali is constantly working on upgrades and she says if you bring me "X, Y, and Z" I can do this. Or else just keep giving her resources and something gets continually better.

I'd like this. It'd be like a slow stat changer when you level up.

I have a feeling that default Shepard will have had Tali exiled.

I doubt he'd go as far as show the evidence or use the renegade break-up. (Damn, Tali gets pissed when you do that. Perfectly conveyed by Liz, too. Even without a face she can show some incredible emotions.)
DefaultShep is an ignorant fool, not a douchebag on purpose.

Actually, saving the rachni queen is a middle choice but failshep kills her which is renegade. Default Shep always goes with stuff that is least likely to have visible consequences in the next game so people won't be confused. Hence dead Wrex, dead Council, dead Rachni queen, etc. so that those people don't show up and start talking and confusing the newbs.

He'd do anything to shoot himself in the foot later.

But that's what ya get for not importing. Although, I'd really like to see something that's worth importing a Shep for, and not just the story decisions.

Yea, I agree.  I was just using Tali as a specific example.

Default Shepard is a complete bumble****. Tali will be exiled, he'll have made no choice towards war or not, Reegar dead, and Legion probably sold for credits.

got to feel a bit bad for the PS3 users who is going to buy ME2 to play it on the PS3.

they can't play the first game and therefor not transfer saved data into ME2 so much of Tali's lines go away, so sad when you think about it.

For a person with no visible face. Tali can give a terrifying glare.

Also to encourage people to buy the first game. Can't give them all of those choices for free! (unless you use a save editor like me)

Then there's really no reason to play ME2 storywise, if you can just flag stuff with the editor.
