Hmmm.... me too. I don't know how the feelings go in this tread since I don't read it that often. But I would be beyond happy if there was a possiblity for F!Shep to get into a relationship with Tali. It really feelt like it was about to happen, and then it ended with nothing. I personally hope for Tali because she would be such a wonderful partner to my F!Shep.

If only someone would write what happens to Raela next. Where o' where could we find such a writer I wonder? Heh, I'm kidding. But really, it would be nice if BioWare did something like Raela, just at the end sequence of ME3 to finish the Tali romance off.

Gah!  You and Vol both harassing me!

(I'd do more Call of the Elder Machines first.)

I second this. Posted Image

As for Tali and femshep, she didn't go for it in ME2. Why would she go for it in ME3? I'm quite happy with Tali being a sister figure for femshep, and also a fiercely loyal individual who is always by her side.

"cough" this.."cough".  It just means it's a well recieved story Buddha. (*see sig*) I happen to like both stories and I'll read what ever additions you add to either.

The heavy drama, dying face reveal for Tali is not something I would care for. Just my 2 cents.

The Raela Shepard story was... interesting. I enjoyed the baby flashbacks thoroughly though.

GTFO!

JUST JOKING! In all seriousness though, this is a sensitive topic that many people here are not comforable with. The general consensus when this issue was discussed a few days ago was that a new bisexual female LI is prefered over retconing Tali's sexuality (which a lot of fans firmly believe is straight). Several view the awkward dialogue you mentioned as little more than that.
I have to ask you to please keep discussions about s/s romances within the threads dedicated to that matter. The subject doesn't really sit well with some of the regulars on this thread, and that's phasing that nicely.

Tali dying for a face reveal kinda sounds like a cheap drama ploy. You can add emotion into any situation by killing a character, that doesn't make it good writing. Frankly, if a writer needs to kill his characters to create an emotional scene, then maybe he/she needs to look at other career options.
I don't think sadness is really an appropriate emotion for that kind of scene. Seeing Tali's face for the first time should at least equal the amount of joy we got from seeing Archangle take off his helmet (it should also be done in a similarly badass moment). This would be for non romanced Tali. The romanced version could be much more...romantic. Posted Image

I can tell from "cheesy underline" you're talking about the 2nd pic. The Quarian child is so freaking adorable!

Quick question: do you guys see Tali as an engineer or a mechanic?

I think the discussion over S/S Tali is fine to be had here - so long as it's recognized that the matter is one of subjectivity and opinion.

Quick question: do you guys see Tali as an engineer or a mechanic?

She's both, but engineer would really better encompass the entirety of her skills.
One similar question is whether you would consider Tali to be a scientist.

I see her as an engineer with hands on practical training in the field, which also makes her a mechanic. Scientist? In the strict definition of the word...no. Computer science, yeah maybe.

The Terminus line is so bad it's actually good imo. The poses are good too. Seeing Shepard in that stance makes hope he can crouch walk in ME3, like Tali does sometimes when she's moving to cover.

I see her as a an engineer as well. One of her passives class evolutions is Quarian Mechanic though, so I thought some might view that as her profession. I was curious if anyone really thinks of her as a mechanic.

Most engineers specialise in a specific field. I myself am studying to become a nuclear engineer.
What area of engineering would you say Tali focuses on?

Mechanical Engineering but in a very general sense.

Take myself for example.  I'm not a computer science major, or a software engineer, but I am a software developer and I have experience in both prior fields.  I also have experience as a mechanic rebuilding car engines and working on motorcycles, but I am no mechanic.  I would fit myself into a tech role with mechanical skills.

Tali is more of a mechanic, but on a star ship, you need to know computers and physics incredibly well to be able to work on and repair one.  She fits more as a mechanic with technical skills.  So that's why I say mechanical engineer.

I suppose after Haestrom I have to.

So other than having a quarian degree in engineering what other skills might she have? Astrophysics? I'm fairly certain that's what the study of stars would fall under.

Anyway, on the topic of Shepard and Tali having a family, I think that would be selfish and cruel. Whether you adopted a quarian child or a human either way one of the parents will be kept separate from the child out of necessity. It's a bad thing for kid.

Of-course even if Tali and Shepard weren't hindered by the need for one of them to wear a clean suit 99% of the time I would still be against it for other reasons.

Hey!  A nuke bro!

But anyway, I'd suggest she's a generalist of whatever type it takes to keep starships running.  On the Flotilla she's probably had to do a little (or a lot) of everything.

Okay I am confused, I have the notion that they have confirmed on 2 separate reports that 1: There were no new love interests in Mass Effect 3, and 2: That there will be S/S choices for Shepard for Mass Effect 3.

Wouldn't that imply that at least some of the characters are going to be ret-conned?

That's what I was trying to say, but I see the double meaning now.  LOL.

Item 1 is apparently not true.

Oh thats fine then. #2 would definitively be the worse of the two. Once you start a series with a character, end them with the same personality. I am A okay Bioware to open up the options ala DA2, but leave my Shepard out of it!

Was she teasing or being just really really friendly...  nope definitely teasing ^_^

There no doubt in my mind it would work.   The poll I did a couple of days ago had a lot of support for her and femshep as well. Almost 40% wanting to see it, which suprised me.

http://social.biowar...61/polls/20080/

So yeah the support is there.  Mainly because the dialogue is so suggestive to something more. :)
