I like the idea that even if we can't relate where we come from, that doesn't stop us for loving each other. And besides... now that the Reapers will focus on Earth... they will have something to relate oTL, especially if humanity is driven away from Earth.

I don't remember that.I remember she remarks on sole survivor.
As far as I know, she doesn't comment on background/psych profiles period.
She does comment 2 of the following decisions in her romance, though:
Feros Colony (Saved/Killed)
Wrex (Killed)
Virmire
As far as I know, she comments on Feros. Then Wrex if he was killed, otherwise Virmire.

Growing up with limited resources and in a tough environment gives them something in common anyway.

All the backgrounds can work. Least of all probably ruthless, though. But even that one you can fit to some degree.
As long as you don't pick the renegade options at Freedom's Progress, I don't see why a Renegade path wouldn't work. Just be supportive when you find out you're her council, pick the Renegade options at the console on the Alerei (the conversation is a bit less confrontational then telling her they should find a new home, that pisses her off), take the paragon interrupt, and rip into the council with the intimidate defense. Other than that, she seems fine with a Renegade Shep. She likes it when you shout

It's interesting to me that no matter what option you choose on the Alarei, Tali argues for the opposite option. Suggest finding a new world? It would take forever! Suggest that what Rael did was good? She's weary of trying to win Rannoch back. Interesting insight into her character and mentality, I think, and the same goes for the Quarian population in general, as well.

Well she does say in the loyalty mission wrap-up that the Quarian people love to debate. But having done both, I felt as though she got more pissed at me when I chose the paragon options over the Renagade ones. Maybe it was just my imagination. Even though there would be many challenges facing her people should they retake the homeworld, she definitely does not want to let the Geth win.

I just got ascension. Can't wait to read it. I think have now totally given myself over to mass effect/Tali fandom. Might as well get some Tali suit patterned bed sheets to go with it.
Also, be prepared to hate Cerberus even more in that book

Me too. I feel the same way about class, with each having something different to relate with Tali. It would also help me get into the head of my individual shepards.Someone With Mass wrote...
I'd like if a Spacer could talk spaceships with Tali. Mix things up a bit from all the talk about the immune system.

Tali has never mentioned Wrex in any of my games and he is quite dead.

Nope. Spacer. Birds of a feather, 'n all that.

I like the freedom of space, don't want to start a hero, and want to be paragon.
I always thought that there was enough difference between Tali and SpacerShep for it to be fine. I mean, Tali was living on a crowded civilian ship where as Shepard (at least in my eyes) grew up mainly on or around military personnel and ships.

As for Tali, I do sometimes think it'd be neat (or maybe mean) if when Tali was complaining about her father Shepard could remind her that at least she had one.
