*reaches through the internet and slides them on*.Posted Image  But in all seriousness, my wish to see a new trailer and possibly Tali is tempered by spoilers. I was never a part of the community until very recently, so my mass effect (1 and 2) was absolutely spoiler free. It seems I was fortunate, as I heard the spoilers were very heavy for ME2.

Edit: My third top!

The Tali romance was pretty much spoiled for me before I played the game. I didn't actually see the romance (I fortunately had the fortitude to wait), but I did "know" she was a romance option shortly before the game was released.

Glad I had a chance to miss that since ME2 was the first game I played. Makes wonder if I can or should avoid the spoilers for ME3......hmm, can't do it. Just to excited to see.

I'd recommend staying away from the forums for the last few weeks before ME3 is released.
I did that, and I avoided most of the spoilers (probably should have started a bit sooner though, since the Tali romance was spoiled for me).

I stayed away from the interwebz for a couple of months to be spoiler free. Once Kelly said Tali was interested in Shep, my head exploded since I posted on the old ME1 Tali support forums and I tried to romance Tali on my first ME1 playthrough back in 07 :pinched:

*embarrassed*....Not knowing any better, after playing ME2 first with Tali as my first LI, I went to play and romance Tali in my first play of ME1 thinking it would improve the second time LI in ME2 with the import save. I was a little disappointed, but I still really enjoyed ME1.

I played through all of ME1, and every time I left the ship, I'd run back in and spend about 5 total minutes in the elevator going down then up, talking to Tali. Plus I avoided Liara and Ashley conversation like the plague in order to keep things focused with Tali.

I was kind of sad. Then I verified that Tali was romanceable in ME2, and saw she was in ME3 as well, and I haz a happeh.

They didn't anticipate fan reaction to Tali, and thought that Tali's appearance would put off many players anyway.

Didn't they think her chicken feet would turn off people?
It had the opposite reaction, well for me at least

They must have been very happy to realize they created a "hit" of a character after the initial surprise was over.

@Collider: Is that just your opinion, or is this yet another example of how much you know about the inner working of Mass Effect?

Yes, it was the chicken feet.

For me it was Liz Stroka and the over all feeling from Tali. Although her appearance is very pleasing. I agree.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't think Tali would get this much fandom based on her ME1 appearence. She was essentially just a walking Quarian codex entry* with little plot revelance beyond the evidence gathering mission.

* The codex part is part of what won her a spot in my top 5 squadmates list along with dem hips and voice. :D

I'm fairly sure that Bioware themselves said something about it in a dev diary or something. No real point for me to make it up.

Ironically, I found my fondness of Tali more rooted to her moderate character than her actual appearance. Yes, hips and curves are nice and all, but Miranda had them too, and I wasn't quite so fond of her.

A lot of people like Tali because she is sweet and best reflects the sort of woman that most men would like to be with for the rest of their lives. She is considerate, kind, passionate about her people, and doesn't come with an overtly abrasive personality which would turn most people off. The sort of agreeable girl most guys want to be with.

I wish I could meet a girl like her.

Elevator cameras make the long rides bearable. That and a deadpan response by Wrex to one of Tali's many questions.

Yes. Ashley and Liara represented extremes. Tali though was right in the middle. Feminine but not weak, self-sufficient, but not arrogant.

Well, she's not agreeable all the time.  IIRC, she's the only one whose loyalty mission you can fail to gain loyalty in.
