I think things would feel more complete if Tali's face is shown. Besides, as Bioware's people are the ones who brainstormed Tali into being, I would think they would do a good job in making a face that matches her voice and her personality.

I generally think they'll treat Tali with more respect than some other characters (I would cite ME1 and ME2 as examples), so I'm not too worried. But I am still disturbed about what they did to Miranda and Ashley.

They should realize that Tali is much less objectified than either of those characters. I mean, yeah, DEM HIPS! is all over the place, but if there was a choice between seeing Tali's face or her hips, I'm pretty sure I know which one would win. I'm sure they won't sexify a character that was never seen as a sexual object (Which, no offence, Miranda was created for. Infertile, even...).

Edit: Plus, she was never a romance option in ME1, hopefully they'll just not think of oversexifying her...

Thanks to the average quarian woman's suit leaving little to the imagination in terms of figure, we're quite sated as far as Tali's figure goes. ;)

I also think they should reveal. No one can give me a solid reason as why they should not. Some greed wanting their image to be it & only in their head? That's a little unfair to the rest of us. No?
(If that greed doesn't like the Tali reveal, keep the image from your imagination as your Tali. No harm done, everybody wins.) IMO & I know it's wrong,but...it is what it is.!.
The greedy ones do not think it is wrong to withhold the reveal. Why is that? Because they don't want their image ruined? Well some of us want an official image.

I guess I could Imagine Tali resembling Karen Gillan,or Sienna Guillory exactly. Yes I like this. So if there is no reveal,my Tali looks like a human red-head. Or Miss Jill Valentine herself.!.

I've never made up a "Tali's face" in my head. I tried a little, one time, when that great rendition with the tentacly hair was put up and people were talking about it. But I don't want to make up anything more than the silver eyes and the silhouette of a nose. I'll probably be quite happy with Bioware's Tali (because I'd bet a large sum of money they'll show her face in ME3) =)

By the way, halfway through chapter 1 of the fanfic. Great to find one who's chapters aren't just three paragraphs. At first I was having a bit of trouble with the punctuation, but I've gotten used to it; And really, most of Tali's comments, when I play them with her voice in my head, seem spot on. Thanks whoever posted it ( >.< )

I don't know, there's a lot you can do with a texture, that's why I've never been able to pin down a look in my head.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just stumbled upon the "Creating Garrus" video, and it got my imagination running when it was spilled that Tali a) has hair and B) might get a haircut as she gets older.

Made me giddy to hear someone there claim she's possibly the most popular character, either just above or alongside Garrus, as well as the whole "don't search Google image for either of them with safe search off" jab.

Here's hoping she gets a nice redesign just as Ashley, Liara, Kaiden, and Garrus have thus far.

I don't have a specific imaginary image of Tali's face in my head. It's mainly because whenever I think of Tali, I see her as she looks in ME2. Her face may be obscured by her visor, but it's still her face so that's what I picture. I don't add in any extra features when I picture her, if that makes any sense.

I'd also would like to see an updated suit for Tali. Nothing too drastic though, otherwise we may not be able to tell if it's her. :P

They should use the Texmod version with the glowy bits and whatnot. =p Either the default or loyalty would be fine. Didn't Bioware use it in a trailer or a screenshot somewhere? Can't remember.

Yep, they used that "glowy bits" textmod appearance of Tali as the model for her latest t-shirt on the Bioware Store.

They were talking about her hood.

Probably... but they said "hair" when they could have easily said "hood" instead, and I've not seen a single Quarian with a "short hood" design. They're all long. So a "haircut" might be interesting.

Unless Tali is a furry. That might be interesting.

As far as I can tell, it was a metaphor about the hood. Indicating that they shaped the hood to "represent a cropped haircut," rather than "long flowing hair that the original hood represented." Not that they actually have hair. And the reason why you haven't seen another quarian with the short-hood design is because of game limitations; i.e. there is only one (other) female quarian model ingame, and only one male quarian model. The colouring is done purely by a RGB colour map. (See my sig for the whole skinning models to see more information). Tali is different because she is a unique character, much in the same way that everyone else on Shepard's team is unique (in appearance), hence why she has a different suit than any of the other quarians.

Unless Tali is a furry. That might be interesting.

I'd rather they didn't do that. Just my opinion though.

Meh, different time zones suck <.<

I'm really excited about the news! Although I like Tali's suit very much, I do hope that we'll be able to customize the squad armors like Shepard's, and recolor them...

I wanna texturize the team dextro armor and weapons in Alliance theme *_*

Absolutely. I think if they "oversexify" her, they will be missing the point of the character, and (IMO) one of the reasons why she is popular. With Miranda, as soon as I saw her in ME2, (i.e. the perfect female specimen), you knew where the story was going, and that there would be some big 'hot and sweaty' romance scene towards the end of the game. This blatency is why I was turned off Miranda as a character. I think Tali's attractiveness stems from the fact that she 'isn't' trying to be attractive, while actually being attractive. Tali has a good back-story, and after talking to her, the player understands and can empathise what she is going through. Plus, she is good at her job and has no problem getting stuck in with taking out the Geth. I think it is these characteristics of being loyal to the player, no-nonsense attitude, being good at what she does, and understated attractiveness, is what is most attractive about Tali, and why she is popular.
If her face is revealed in ME3, I still believe she should look attractive, but not in an 'obvious and trying too hard' kind of way, which is how some of the other characters seem to have gone, and are now going (i.e. Miranda, Ashley, Liara...).

Anyway, I agree that they were using hair figuratively speaking.
Notice that only female quarians have the hoods. The hoods are probably supposed to add a touch of femininity (and by that I just mean hair).

One of the things I most liked about the demos shown at E3/etc was how vocal the squad mates were.
In ME2 they hardly ever spoke, and when they did, it was often this generic dialog. Some squad mates even said the exact same thing as others at certain points. Unacceptable.
It's really jarring to hear Tali say generic stuff, they should get rid of that.
I wouldn't be surprised if they did, considering their supposed focus on a smaller squad.

For the most part I hope "banter" is KOTOR style rather than ambient style.

I take it you didn't see the post a few pages back that showed a picture of a Tali-pony, then... :/

EDIT: Is it just me or has the thread lost a star? O_o

Look near the top of the post list. You can rate the thread there.
I noticed someone (probably) has been rating down the character support threads.
Of course, to remedy this, simply rate the thread 5 stars.
