I think you just get the same dialogue you would if you romanced nobody.

Well that isn't terrible or anything... (Not that you don't deserve it if you let Tali die Image IPB)

@Troodon: I say "Dem hips!" sometimes, but I, too, love Tali for her character. Dem hips are just a fine extra! Image IPB

Kinect voice control!

Hmm.. Imagine you and Tali working together, as you give orders, and she yells locations of enemies and such.

Now imagine 5 years later, Kinect 2 comes out, and it has an AI that creates Intelligence so advanced you can have a full conversation with anyone! No dialogue wheel! What you say is what they hear. Possibly in future releases of Mass Effect, or remakes of the Trilogy.

With you as Shepard what would be some things you say, specifically for Tali?

That would be awesome! But unfortunately, I can't see that happening even in the next 100 years. Technology so advanced that you could have a conversation with, reminds me of Hal from the movie '2001' (and things didn't turn out well for the humans in that film).
However, one realistic possibility is having technology that can synthesize a voice actors tone and reproduce it (with expression), means that sentences would no longer have to be recorded by a person (saving huge amounts of memory) and dialogue can be reproduced purely from text, meaning hundreds or thousands of pages of script can be written. If the text was written with multiple branches, you could 'simulate' a person in a fairly convincing way, as long as you kept within the constraints of the game and the story. I think this is certainly a possiblity within the next 20 years...

(Edit: Actually, excuse me while I just take a trip down to the patent office with that concept Image IPB)

Nice pic, but why is she always posing on her tiptoes like that?

A bit late reply, but as the painter, I'd like to chime in: Because it makes her legs straight, and thus more human from behind (she has slightly short legs when standing normally due to the strong bend at the knees). Plus, she stands on her tiptoes a lot -- for example ME1 in elevators, or when she's bored she bounces on her toes.

So, I figured that since it's a "pose" anyway, she might as well have imaginary heels on. But, thanks, nice that you liked it.

Yes, it is a nicely drawn pic, though I don't recall her ever standing on her tip-toes in the elevators. Not that it isn't a nice pose mind you, it is... I know why Bioware does it too. It makes it look like she's wearing high heels.

It never occured to me that she was wearing invisible heels. Thought it was just one of the ways she stood (and I still think that). Hell, when I run, I run on my toes and the "palm" of my foot, in the same position she stands...

just looked on Casey's twitter...

@CaseyDHudson Is Tali a permanent squadmember in ME3?

@CaseyDHudson
Casey Hudson .@kainryckarr Tali will be able to join your team, but nothing's permanent in #ME3 - it's a story of full-scale war, with lots of twists

Hey Runescapeguy, can you put a link to that Tali art poster in your sig? I have no idea what page it's on, and your profile is private (I'd assume it would be on there, too).

Ah yes, more foreshadowing on possible character choice lineararity, not that I'm not a chronic pessimist, but I'm hoping that this doesnt turn out to be dissapointing like most of this year's current releases, then again, I think I'll just go back to ignoring game release dates so I dont attempt over excite myself.. if thats even possible.

Not sure about the rest of you but if I didnt get specific options on character choices (i.e which ever one I wanted), for their support and more importantly their feedback during missions, the game would feel rather linear and underwhelming, as you often dont take note of characters you abhor.

Don't worry so much, Tali doesn't have to stay with you every second for you to get a full dose of her.... I'd find it acceptable to even have her just standing around on the ship for you to talk to everytime you came back ^^

I also found that the choices I wanted to say were not one of the options. That is the case with most games though, especially in NWN. Lol.

But they got the paragon hug right! :)

I want to see Tali running around with dual M-300 krogan shotguns. That would be funny.

Yeah.. I do remember before they patched it to make most NPCs "friendly" so I could just generally turn around and kill any quest character or companion I didnt like (good experience too).  Solomon was a particular favourite, I'd just kill him before the dialogue, annoying little bugger...

Companions in that were a little redundant though, plus the game was "harder" to play solo, or at least the game kept telling me it was designed for a companion, but I was too cheap to shell out for one, even when they were free.

The henchman system NWN used wasn't nearly as good as Biowares other games. And I tended to pick Tomi Undergallows. Always handy to have a rogue. And yeah, it meant that classes had to be more versatile, but they weren't. Then again, you are talking to someone who completed BG1, 2 and ToB with just one companion at any time...
(Yes. Lots of imports :P)

But this is the Tali thread! And having three companions instead of two with Shepard will increase the amount of banter (I hope!) I can't wait to hear some team dextro banter. As there is barely any in game, but it is in about every fanfic!

WOAH WOAH WOAH...

There's 3 companions now...? I can have ME1's Team Shotgun with ME1 & 2's Team Dextro...? At the same time?

Please say "yes". Even if Wrex is temporary.

Yes you can. It was confirmed at E3. 3 squaddies instead of 2. It was shown in the demo. There was Shepard, Garrus, Liara and Mordin.

mordin was just at the area. he was never shown fighting. I would suggest taking this to the correct thread, though.

Alright, Tali is just awesome character in general. She is sweet, caring and her personality in whole is something you just had to like. And her confidence in engineering and battle, but real shyness in other things just make her all more endearing.

And as LI, she is definitely best of all other choices for Shep. Tali romance is actually believable if you compared it to other choices. Yes, I know that she talks a lot about Quarian and not much about anything else, but that's actually BW fault, not lack of anything else to talk about between Shep and Tali. Anyway the real point (at least for me) is that Shep and Tali actually really talk with each others. They have many long conversation, if you want that way. With all other LI choices, there is not much talk, especially in ME2. Now why this talking is important part to me, is because you can't have real relationship with someone without that you talk to them, spend time to get to know them. And Shep and Tali does exactly that. They have had time to get to know each others in first Normandy and there have been time for the romance to build up in believable way. This is what makes Tali romance the best. It's the most believable of them all. It's not just "talk few times and help solve a problem and then there is romance, like it's with Miranda and Jack.

So, simply put this what I want for ME3.

This.

But really I don't care how many squadies you have, as long as you will have chance to have Tali on your squad. :)

Ah, got my hopes up. Oh well, Team Dextro will always work just fine for me. Since taking Garrus instead of Wrex along with Tali the past game will probably make me feel bad when I have to take Tali & Wrex.

On an unrelated note, copy-pasted from the ME3 Tali thread (by me)...

"Pssst, not totally Tali-related, but it's not like there's a great hubbub of conversation. I started a thread in ME3 General asking for topics on popular ME3 requests to make Polls on, and post the results in a thread, giving Bioware a rough idea of what a sample of its fans are keening for.

Now, anyone wanna keep discussing dat Quarian?"

Sawwy, just trying to get some wide-appeal fanservice (the very best kind). Now, back to Tali...
