Where can I find these old concept art pictures of Batarians/Quarians/etc.?

...and as for Tali, I think she is just fine on the SR2 but no ship comes close to having a homeworld. She will have both if my Shep has anything to say about it.

I am trying to understand why my statement about a placeholder is so disagreeable to some. I did not state hair, eye color, tentacles or anything other than a nondescript 'face'. Even the texture for it is just shaded. It could be lime green with hot pink pimples for all I know.

If BW had not wanted us to have even a slight idea about how they looked, the masks would not be transparent. There is enough there to entice the imagination but nothing more.

I was only mentioning that the male and female face appears to be the same, albeit nondescript, face. It will not be the male has a foot long nose while Tali's is short.

I think the issue has little ground to stand.  If Pac is right, then things are open to change.  If Calinstel is right the we have a clue of the future but Bioware still has the opportunity to change things.  Either way we know too little to argue.   Let us be at peace lest Woo desend and destroy us all :P

...also Calinstel, can't wait to see what Lana thinks of "Edie"  >>>hate having to wait, glad you are still writing.

Opaque lacks dimension, makes the mask too flat, which leads to a rather boring aesthetic. Anyway, not that I think the males have a foot long nose compared to females, but I still think there is considerable sexual dichotomy within their faces and that includes the dimensions of their faces to explain why the two masks are so disparate. So yes, the idea that the faces must align with the placeholders does not work for me. They're placeholders. An elongated lizard face for a male while a squat face for the females would be acceptable and I wouldn't cry foul because the placeholders were human-like before. I get the impression, when people do bring up the placeholders, that they would.

Pacifien wrote... I think of Rannoch as more an ideal and a dream in the quarians' minds now. It is a symbol of better times, easier times than what they face in the day-to-day trials of maintaining the Migrant Fleet. It's a symbol of freedom, from persecution and from their situation. When Tali talks about returning home, her voice is almost of desperation of being able to live free of the suit more than returning to the place of the quarian's origins.

That last line you mentioned: She would want the one who first touched her skin to by her side when that happens. He enabled her to experience what life outside her suit was like, and he will help her do that, perhaps sensing that desperation you mentioned. Part of being in a relationship is helping the other with any burdens he/she may have, and understanding them as best you can. There will always be misunderstandings or some ignorance as Shepard demonstrated on the Alarei, but those help make relationships stronger.

Obviously the placeholder is just that: a placeholder. Unless Bioware intends to keep a low res texture (unlikely), if Tali is revealed in ME3, the appearance will change.

How Tali looks will not change how I view the character. Hell, in ME1, my video card was so poor I didn't even know the mask was transparent but I still loved the character. Tali's traits and the quarian story really sound like good, solid, science fiction and I love that. The asari, well not so much.

As far as the helmets, males could have longer faces, don't know. The description in one of those books (not canon) did not mention that yet with the description given about the ears I'm fairly sure it would have been. Still, no point in arguing as Wolf stated. Until BW pulls it's head outta it's arse and gives REAL data on a race they said 'Oh looky' to with no info, all we can do is wait.

And Wolf... Gonna have to wait to find out :)

This. Other than wanting Quarians to look suitably alien, I don't really care particularly how she looks like. I do want her revealed in ME3, but I'll be okay if they don't.

Same here. It would be a nice if they choose to show her face, but it's not like their romance depends on it.

Well...Shepard sure did seem to like what he saw.

Except for that time his eyes screwed up and seemed to roll into the back of his skull.

Really? I never noticed anything like that. Sounds hilarious. It's a little strange how some of the animation glitches or freakiness got into the final game.

That glitch usually happens with my game although the one time I was recording the scene, it was just fine...not sure why.

Now, with all this talk of placeholder faces, was it ever established whether or not we will see Talis face? Like did a developer actually say it will happen or are we just under the assumption that it will be shown.

I still get the feeling we wont see a quarians face at all in the entire series.

I believe someone from Bioware (probably Hudson, but not sure) said that they  know what Tali looks like. But they have not confirmed that we will be seeing Tali or the Quarian face.

I'm going to be so pissed if they don't show us what she looks like. We are supposed to play Shepard, not some stupid floating camera. They made that mistake once, but I am willing to forget about it if they make up for it.

Then again, Hudson loves to blow things out of his ass. To toss the fans a bone, if you will.

It would be a great way to conclude the romance by finally showing her face.

No, they blew the great romance reveal already.
All they can do is try to cover their asses with some other reason to show it.

So I wouldn't expect that they'll show the face. Ultimately it's not a big deal to me. The romance already offers plenty of depth and emotion. So long as they continues, I am quite content.

I'd rather they show her face in the beginning or middle of the romance in ME3. It's no longer a big mystery for Shepard - he's already seen it.

I was actually more fond of the lead up to the moment in the cabin.

If they can do something like that again for ME3, I'm satisfied.

I was kind of like "wat" when we didn't get to see her face. But the romance was so good that I honestly did not mind it.

They blew it with such a long lead in to the reveal now. Any reveal will disappoint most as by now, we all have our views on her looks.

Better to leave it hidden.

Somedays, I really dislike BW.

I don't think I'll be disappointed by Tali's face. Because I've never really grew attached to any one interpretation for it.
