If a group of people were making a slave race they'd want to make the slaves similar to themselves so they can perform similar work with similar utensils and such.
That is, except for the outliers who have very specific duties. The general geth is probably a very good depiction of what a quarian looks like, and if BioWare decides to make the quarians mammals I will laugh at them.
You're uh... missing the point. But anyway.
Doesn't the codex already say quarians are mammals?
Well, for Tali's sake, take the "Quarian's designing Geth" thing this way:
In Star Wars, the Trade Federation battle droids are designed after their Nemoidian masters when their bodies decay and shrivel up to their skelatal form, and the head of a skeleton of a dead Nemodian looks nothing like the head of a live one.
So in this case, the Geth could be based upon a more different concept of how they should be designed, perhaps they made the Geth to be like Quarians but they decided a worm-like head would be better for some reason, to instill fear perhaps in battle?
With all of that, Tali's facial details that one can see past her mask are very much like a human, the Asari have human-like faces, why can't the Quarians? Why can't Tali for that matter?
