Pilgrimage isn't always a religious term.Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...
Maybe it's just me but the term "pilgrimage" always seemed like an oddly religious term for what is really a purely secular tradition. Maybe it originated out of some old religious tradition and they just kept the term.
some defs
noun
1.
a journey, esp. a long one, made to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion: a pilgrimage to Lourdes.
2.
any long journey, esp. one undertaken as a quest or for a votive purpose, as to pay homage: a pilgrimage to the grave of Shakespeare.
Main reson I think they chose it is because it sounds more epic/ important.

The Quarians also appear to be generally based on the Jews, which could be related to that. Although it doesn't exactly apply to the term as well.

I was going to put a quote where Tali's name is. There was something she said about flowers during her loyalty mission that I was going to use but I couldn't remember it.
Also, the stock image came from a wallpaper on deviantart. Don't have the link to it.

Very nice. The quote was "Every time you touch a flower with bare fingers, inhale its fragrance without air filters, you're doing something I can't!"AdamNW wrote...

If I may be of service, don't hesitate to ask via pm. I would rather keep the thread as on topic as possible. That said, this was also done by the same artist.AdamNW wrote...

I believe the theory of a HUD inside the helmet was confirmed, with the downloading of the videos.Pacifien wrote...
Regarding the dossier: I wasn't offended, but I didn't really laugh even though I took it for the joke it was. There were just other dossiers that I think did their jokes much better. What interested me more about that part of Tali's dossier was seeing everything else she was uploading, giving us an idea of how the suits are more than just environment control.
Edit: Today is seriously pirate day? I am so out of the loop.

You know, sometimes I wonder if Tali would live on Rannoch if the quarians got it back. I actually think a good percentage of them wouldn't be able to make the adjustment, a culture shock of sorts.
I don't think that would happen. The quarians wouldn't have to change their culture immediately. It's not like they're going to land and then live in isolated log cabins out on the prairie. They land some ships and/or buy habitats and they make a town, or a city. They'd still be in close proximity to one another. It'd be strange and weird to them, to some degree, sure. However I'm sure many quarians get the chance to have personal space and property when on pilgrimage. For every quarian stuck living in a turian shelter there is probably another who manages to rent out an apartment.
I don't think Tali would live on Rannoch 24/7. I imagine her having a home there, but spending most of her time in orbit helping the rest of her species make their way down there. There'd be a lot of work to do dismantling ships and such.
She visits Rannoch on the weekends.

People, I remember reading old conversations and short stories filled with descriptions of Tali using her nerve stimulators and no one had a problem. Bioware puts it in the game and makes a fan creation cannon, and everyone is in an uproar that an adult would dare to let off a little steam once in a while.
Seriously, its not such a bad thing.

My point was what was once fanon was made canon. I think thats kind of cool. I loved that part of the dossier, it gave me a bit of adolecent joy.
But, if you dont like it thats fine. I respect you opinion, I really do.
I just dont understand what the big deal is.

Moving onward, or backward I suppose you could say, what other supplemental system do you believe the suits have? We know they support life, and most likely have some sort of HUD for displaying information, increase auditory and visual capability (from the books), but what else?

Anyone else laugh at the suit enhancements that Tali got that are documented at the Shadow Broker base? The ones that were installed, Uninstalled, Reinstalled over and over again?
Yeah, it was a little funny.
And seriously. Stop the ****ing. It's just a piece of text.
