Because the quarians made the same mistake every person in science fiction always makes.

They tried to turn off the sapient computer.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Since I think we are going a bit off topic I have a question.

Do you think Tali needs some form of a combat suit in an AA pack or the third game?

No. Her current suit is more than enough. All that needs to be done is make it more personalized.
And I agree, everyone get back on topic.

Define Combat Suit

Someone in Clan Z posted a good interpretation of one (Tali's regular suit but with more heavy plating) but I was thinking of something like the Cerberus assualt armor.

I'd like a suit that isn't fully made for combat but still has that kind of design. Like shoulder pads, chest plates and such, but still leave areas of her body so her...smooth lines are still there.Posted Image

The Geth are just as capable of deciding to attack as normal organics. In fact, it's actually more difficult for them to decide that, because they have to get a majority of processes to decide they should do so. An organic just has to snap on emotions or, in the case of authority, make a governmental mistake. The Quarians attacked the Geth in the first place, so they have a damn good reason to be cautious.

So long as the Quarians don't use the Geth as slaves if they don't want that, peace for both sides is viable.

The Heretic geth are 5% of the geth runtimes, they clearly didn't reach a majority. Organics are individuals, they can make choices. If Tali was told by Shepard to shoot unarmed civilians, she wouldn't do it, she has that choice. If the geth come to an actual majority consensus to attack organics, every geth would join the attack. We were lucky in that the Heretics didn't have a consensus. The quarians had every right to attack, their machine servants, who were likely integrated into every part of quarian society, could on the verge of a violent revolution. Why the quarians didn't have safeguards is a mystery.

The Heretics split off from the rest, just as a militant group of organics would. Next to no difference, except that the collections of processes needed to agree first. The entire Geth network deciding to attack organics is about as likely as an entire species such as Turians deciding to attack the Asari--Every single Turian agreeing to do so.

So what gives organics "rights" that an autonomous, self-aware, morality-capable machine does not have?

She doesn't really need it, but I'd like it. That's basically my stance on it. Judging by the first AA pack, if I had to say, there's thankfully a pretty good chance she'll get more armor, which is great.

Never thought of armor as something Tali Needed. maybe some to protect critical areas, but really leaving her... features and curves well visible  :D

Tali isn't really an armor person, she seems like she would be more geared towards shields. Maybe something with visible shield emitters, but even that would be stretching it.

Yeah shes just not one of those characters. Being a techie, shields would make sense, but thatd be the end of it

Even if two thirds of the first AA Pack was pretty much just recoloring of old suits, I have faith that BW have learned from it.

I have had this theory that the Qarian suits are the most advanced suits in existence. They spend literally their entire life in them, rarely leaving it. The suit would probably be modular in design (as to allow for easy replacement of malfunction parts or parts that have grown too small). It would have a much more sophisticated HUD designed to display more than the rudimentary data like vital signs, shields, and basic sensory data. A form of internal cleaning would be required too. I would expect a direct neural connection too for some emergency things.
I've thinking about this and I think that the suit could easily be modified so that you would not need to use the omni-tool interface on your hand. Small sensors in the helmet would be able to sense movements and gestures by the eyes allowing for a user to go through data and probably even hack stuff without needing both hands for the omni-tool (one holds the omni-tool, the other would normally fiddle with it).

I'd like to see a situation where the squad is at gunpoint and Tali, without moving and giving herself away by visually activating the omni-tool in her hand, gains control of the power to the room. Lights are cut. The dudes that were holding them can't see anything and fire blindly. Tali's upgraded external sensors display the heat signatures of everyone on her HUD. Knife time!
The lights turn back on and Shepard and the other squad member see Tali standing as if nothing happened but with blood on her visor and hands, her knife back in its holder on her leg, standing in the middle of a pile of cut bodies.
Tali (in a slightly annoyed tone): "What are you looking at?"

Hold on let me write this down.

LOL this is brilliant and along my own lines of thinking. Being a avid 40k/spacemarine fan I always though of the quarian suits as similar in functionality to power armor. If you have ever read or heard anything bout GW's 40k game you have probably heard of space marines and theire gear and what not. Any way it works in such a way that the physiology of the marine is directly linked to the suits systems the armor is litteraly an extension of their own biosystems, it augments their strength and negates its own weight so it is almost like wering nothing despite its obvious bulk, it also filters and purifies any waste and helps maintains the marines organic systems, this effectively allows them to wear their armor indefinately. Yes quarian enviro suit are nowher near as bad ass but I think they are incredibly advanced like you said and probably quite comfortable.

Whatever they come up with for her AA outfit should be fine, all her outfits have been pretty good so far.

Mordin is also a "techie," yet he wears armor. I see no reason why Tali wouldn't. If nothing else, show the shield emitters. Tali already has a great outfit for aesthetics, let's see something for battle.

That depends on the location and the design.

Well, as long as she doesn't get some of those utterly retarded shades, I'm satisfied.

This. If we can avoid the shades and a transparent visor we'll be ok.

Tali's visor will become even more tinted to simulate shades.

Bioware would just be poking fun if they did that.
Though I wouldn't mind the techie looking goggles that was in one of the art books.

Im fine with shield emitters, but the armor would have to be well done not to over-do it.

Yeah. Something like Garrus'  visor, but made for tech chicks like Tali.

How would Tali wear a visor?
