The question is: Why should BioWare remove a character they know is successful and that many people like her?
Did anyone say that Tali would be gone from the game proper? No. We are merely discussing whether or not she might be given full squadmate status in ME3, that's all. I am certain that they can still make Tali "Tali" even if she is dead in certain people's games, through the clever and sustained use of cameos.

Because they may think she can't go any further in terms of story and don't want her
Because they may think the possibility of her dying is too much trouble to re add her
Lots of reason why they wouldn't
Real question is would you reall boycott ME3 for the reason of Tali no being a squaddy

If you had payed attention, if that evidence was revealed it would fracture her people into sects and destroy them right then. How dare you say she isn't loyal to her people. After being put to trial for something that was not even her fault, she was willing to take the punishment to ensure that her race survived. Everything she does has never been for herself, but for others, and that has been the quarian race up until very recently.Mystranna Kelteel wrote...
Tali doesn't really care about her people. She's willing to assist in breaking her society's most sacred laws and she doesn't even hesitate to say it.
In fact, she throws a tantrum if you don't help her commit treason. Yeah, she loves her people so much as to have no respect for their most sacred laws.
Well, actually, in that sense you are right. She can do the most for her people by staying far, far away from them.

I agree. I would not want a repeat of the Asari. That isn't the *only* good interpretation of Tali out there, but I do think it gets cool points for making her look like an alien. Most of the fan art makes her look like a human or some sort of space elf. Tali's species evolved from lifeforms not found on Earth, in an alien enviroment that was more arid than Earth. Her appearance should reflect that.
But at the same time, I don't want something that looks too alien.
I want to recognize the same facial lines I can see behind that mask.

Mind you, this could be said of ANY ME2 squadmember. Restricting it to Tali is unfair.Shadow_broker wrote...

Not to mention that VAs are paid by project, not time. Hiring them for cameos is terribly cost-ineffective.RiptideX1090 wrote...
You're right.
What IS a fact, is that hiring new actors for a slew of new squadmates, as well as bringing back the old ones, is not cost effective. Not to mention that the entire point of 2 was setting up a squad and getting things in motion for 3. If they started over, from scratch, they'd have to introduce new squadmates, new backstories, on top of pulling EVERYTHING from the first two games together, while praying that taking out the characters fans have become so attached to doesn't hurt thier sales.
I'll be glad when 3 is out and we can put this arguement to rest.

People don't realize that they already have well established characters. And guess what? You need at a minimum 2 squadmates to survive. Who stayed with you the entire way? Tali and Garrus. They've already developed their backstories and established their loyalty to Shepard. They aren't going anywhere.RiptideX1090 wrote...

What are you talking about? Hiring a new cast that is consistent for every single player is far, far more cost effective then using the ME1 and ME2 squad actors AND hiring new people, especially when you consider how not everyone will have access to those dialogues.
They have to bring back some people, so it's best to relegate them to smaller roles so as not to waste money on content that not everyone will experience.

I'm just going to say that the game does not support this view.

Could you boycott it if it was just Tali?
No.
But why would you remove Tali, who has time and again proven to be a popular character, and no one else? If she's getting removed, I'd have to assume most, if not all of the rest of the team is too.
And THAT would ****** people off.
You spend all of two getting this team set up... and... for what?
To toss it to the side.
I don't think Bioware would do that.

Once again, people are assuming things.kraidy1117 wrote...
People think squadmate means romance, it does not. Look at Liara. She was not a squadmate and her romance was continued to the point where it is by far the deepest romance in the whole series now. They can do that for Tali and the other characters. If you want to see her in ME3, then make sure she survives, but she won't be a squadmate like any of the other characters.

It's an assumption that revealing the truth will "destroy" the quarians. It causes a little bit of trouble, yes, but that doesn't automatically spell out their doom. The quarians have deeply divided factions within their society. It would be best if they dealt with the truth early. If they don't then someone else will take up what Rael was doing and it will happen anyways.
And, again, breaking your society's most sacred laws for the sake of one dead person's memory is not "loyal".

To some. I never found mysteriousness as being part of her character (nor was the fact that we can't see her face appealing to me) It's part of TIM's character, mysteriousness, but not Tali's. In my opinion.LordPennlocke wrote...
Regardless if she had hair or not, Bioware counted on the fanbase to fall in love with her personality and air of mystery regarding her looks, of which I am a part of. If they do decide to show what she looks like in ME3, I'd be happy, if not then oh well. That's part of her allure, not knowing what she looks like and using imagination. If looks are more your thing, then there are other LIs that can fulfill that.

No, but I know I wouldn't care so much about the game's story if Tali isn't with me.
Harbinger pretty much destroyed the Reapers for me, and I can't care less about what happens to Cerberus or any other faction. I want a good ending for Tali's romance.
You may say what you want about that. Won't change my decision or my opinion.

It is stated that it would break her people apart. I'm not assuming. Breaking society's most sacred law? Withholding evidence? People do it all the time. The entire trial was a sham for the war effort anyway. It had nothing to do with her.Mystranna Kelteel wrote...

Blind adherence to society's laws is foolish.
