awww, Merin, you deprive yourself of the awesomeness of RockBand? I regularly have my brother and his g/f over and my husband and I rock out with them ... it's the joy of karaoke without the drunken onlookers and with air guitars that make noise ;)

edit -> and drums, can't forget drums!

I've never once dreamed of being in a band.  I'm, at best, a casual listener of music, and mostly soundtracks or instrumental / classical / orchestral music.

I've never felt the urge to play a musical instrument, or wanted to sing in front of a crowd.

Why would I want to "fake" do that with gimmicky controllers?  It's like a very, very expensive Simon Sez game.

*shrugs* To each their own, I come from a musically inclined bunch, and a RB set up is way cheaper, and more inclusive than those karaoke systems are. Sure, it's not the real thing, but if you like to bang drums and sing, it's alot of fun. Especially on no fail mode with the kids - you have never laughed so hard until you hear a 9 year old sing "Shoulder to the Plow" ;)

Cash of Duty: Modern Borefare 2.
Dragon Age 2 (When it comes out, of course).
Crysis - Actually, anything by Crytek.
Any and all JRPGs.
Any and all beat 'em ups.
Any and all music/rythmn games that aren't Audiosurf.

Edit: I forgot some.
Assassin's Creed 2
Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.

The irony here being that he has a Left4Dead avatar. LOL

Why is that ironic?

refuses to play Crysis, JRPGs, and AC (LOL SRSLY?)

but will play a braindead mob shooter like Left 4 Dead.

Where did I say I play Left 4 Dead? Yes, my avatar is from Left 4 Dead (Well, it's a pre-release Zoey), but it doesn't mean I play it. I do, funnily enough, but not often.

And I refuse to play Crysis because I firmly believe CryTek cannot code or make a decent game. FarCry was terrible. Either way, what does it matter? L4D is a team game, the others aren't. Assassin's Creed bored me so much I was almost comatose.

I don't think there's any game I refuse to try. But see, I'm a gamer, and an open minded person in general. I'd even try Barbie games, though I'm not going to bother if I don't have to

Get Reach..... or else!

I refuse to play world of warcraft and although the fable series looks cool, really had a desire to play it.

I gave up paying attention to Kingdom Hearts series because it'll take a gazillion years for SquareEnix to announce KH3. After FFXIII boring me to tears, I don't think there's any hope for KH. Last Kingdom Hearts game I played was 358/2 days, which was good, but felt it was dumbed down for the yaoi fans in Japan (no wonder they keep on milking games with atrocious she-male characters for the shrilling female fans, even before Justin Bieber fangirls came into the world).

I can't think of other games, but one other game that comes into my mind that I won't try is farmville, even though i consider it not to be a game really.

Read the highlighted part again and you will see that the first part of the statement actually explains the mystery of the second part. ;)

Mind you I'm half asleep and not sure what I typed even makes sense.

Hm, I loved the look and feel of Assassin's creed 1, but the PC controls are so shocking I uninstalled it. I also just tried Bioshock, hated it, and uninstalled.

On that note, I just finished Deus Ex, completely loved every second, then tried Deus ex: Invisible war, and while I haven't uninstalled it yet, I haven't felt the urge to try it again.

I used to like real time strategy, but have completely lost interest, Starcraft 2 can <cencored>

I also used to like first person shooters, but my reflexes went to hell when I turned 34 :P

I'd give Metal gear a try if I knew where to start, do you go for PC, psp, PS2, or .. well I don't have a PS3. After that, do you get Solid 2, 3, or acid for the psp?

I'm about to try Thief 2 - metal age, haven't tried any Thief games before, but I feel confident.

Hmm, let's see.  Well I refuse to play any MMO, especially WoW, on principle.  It can look kickass and I won't play it, even if given the opportunity.  Why?  Because the whole idea of playing an immersive game with complete strangers is just off-putting.  I enjoy multiplayer games where I know who I'm playing with, and thus can judge whether or not I want to play with them, but MMO's pretty much force you to deal with idiots and overall rude people if you want to play at all.

I don't care for any JRPG, because the art style, story quality, and gameplay aren't to my tastes, simple as that.
I don't like anything Star Wars, and this includes the vaunted Knights of the Old Republic.  If it wasn't Star Wars, I'd probably play it.
There are probably others that I can't think of right now.

Sar, I refuse to sing in RB (I won't put anyone through that torture...lol) but I agree watching the kids play it is hilarious!

As a game collector I generally avoid sports games since they tend to become worthless within a year.

Games are timeless, their graphics may eventually get dated but their appeal is never lost. Sports game series get an update every year so that kind of diminishes their appeal for me so yeah I agree. Sports games I generally avoid. There are a few exceptions though like NFL Blitz.

Metal Gear Solid 4.

I had PS3 for a long time, I'm close to trophy level 13, played a lot of games, but this one does not appeal to me...
