Between the statue saying goodbye and the Dalish book/intel on Flemmeth – Is it possible Finn will be appearing in DA2? Or are DLC characters persona non grata? I am wondering because of what I read in the DA2 game info: “Yes. If you import your Origins playthroughs, you will experience the consequences of the choices you made previously.” The end of witch hunt should come into play.
If the consequences are as important as in Awakening or ME2, it won't make much of a difference.

Out of everyone in DA:O, Awakening, Golems, and WH, if FINN is the one to show up, I'll stab my xbox.

I don't have much of a basis for this beyond a gut feeling, plus the fact that he knew a little 'not really' blood magic, and finally... next time you play take a look at the necklace Finn wears.

There were choices there?
Besides which armor to wear, I mean . . . . .

Kinda my point. Linearity is easily to implement in future installments.

I wish I had the choice to kill that damn dwarf you run around with.
He annoyed me more than Finn did.

I used to feel that way about Oghren, until I got to deal with Ariane and Finn. Never thought there'd be NPCs that would make me like the drunken dwarf.

Imagine a party with Finn and Ogrhen... It'd drive me to murder somebody already sick of Ogrehn after he returned in Awakening they just repeat the same jokes...He's drunk and smells and farts a lot blah blah repetative nonsense still can't believe they bought back the most one dimensional character in the whole of DA:Origins. So it wouldn't surprise me if they bring back Finn with all his lame jokes and his inability to EVER shut up. Seriously it's like they had to fit so much dialogue in WH that it just feels like Finn never stops

Ariane I liked.
I didn't really mind Finn THAT much . . . just, he was very bland.
Oghren grew on me the first time I played Awakening - but by the second time, he'd started growing old.

Finn's voice and attitude just grated on me. And Oghren was old the first time I dealt with him. Having played a lot of fantasy tabletop RPGs, Oghren was the stereotypical dwarf I saw too many times. Some of those players were just as disgusting IRL.
Ariane probably wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't also have Finn.

You have them quite backward. Ariane was completely bereft of personality, whereas Finn was not.

The problem goes back further, really, to Awakening. I knew just enough about Anders and especially Nathaniel to be irritated at the difference in dialogue between Awakening and Origins.
In what way? The fact there were far less options to chat about stuff with those companions?

I know! He is such a whiny little ****. I couldn't stand him. Not to say that Dalish girl was all that much better but I could tolerate her at least. Finn just made me wish I had the option of stabbing him at the end.

Ariane was a possible BFF for the Warden, while Finn was Wynne with comedy and Anders without the chick magnet ability.
Wynne didn't whine though. She could get preachy, but she didn't whine. I'll take preachy over whiney.
