LotSB: Liara's Reactions to other romances?

Then I played the same ME1 save when I was in an active - and consummated - romance with Miranda and never got the "humanity" line. How'd I miss it?

I missed all of these. I had a save where I had romanced Liara in ME1, no-one in ME2 and played LOTSB.

That line should occur no matter what, because Liara saying that stuff is the segue to the next part of the conversation. To hear the rest, however, you have to pick the neutral option. Otherwise Shep says something more general and you end up on a different branch.
ETA: OK, wait. Did you start things up with Liara again? If so, she won't say anything about the current LI, even if you nailed them in the engine room, and you get her romance dialogue.

Yep, never got it. Can it be avoided with a Paragon interrupt? I thought it was damn odd.

And with all her knowledge about you and your relationships with the squadmates, Liara is totally oblivious to Kelly right? Perhaps your yeoman is actually the Illusive Man's stealthiest agent of all.
I think it's probably more that she knows exactly what Kelly gets up to...and how often and with how many. She doesn't see her as a genuine rival. Also, Kelly shows up in a transcribed conversation with Zaeed in the dossiers.

I can't honestly say Liara's interest in Shepard was as strong in ME2 or LotSB as it was in ME1. She shows a lot more passionate interest in Feron and retribution against the Shadow Broker. I can't imagine her getting all upset that you hooked up with someone else, when she, for the most part, seemed to have moved on from Shepard. Sure she has some interest but you really have to push to get there.
Perhaps it all seems a bit off because Liara in ME2 seemed like an afterthought. The script wasn't fully realized. When I herd her say "Shepard, how nice to see you again." it was like..."Uh, so the guy you saved from oblivion is now back in the flesh right in front of you and your not taken aback even a little?"
The thing is, Liara's interest in Feron and the shadow broker is inextricably linked to her interest in Shepard. I will say, I think that no matter who you romance/pursue in the games, Liara is very clearly obviously and powerfully in love with shep. The broker defiling his/her remains and Feron sacrificing himself to get them back is -why- she cares so much about those two in the first place.
It shows when she breaks down after she becomes the new Shadow Broker. The line where she breaks up about how she can finally give you something -really- valuable...HOnestly, post LOTSB melted my renegade shep's heart. And that's saying something. Liara's devotion to Shep is a lot deeper and more complex than anybody gave it credit for being.

Honestly? Liara is -never- particularly posessive about Shep. As long as she feels like you care about -her-, she probably doesn't care about Kelly. It's a casual side thing for stress relief. Hell, It's worth mentionting that if you go love triangle in ME1 and suggest a threesome, she doesn't really seem to care. ;p

She doesn't like the Consort though.

And you also have to pick the option to discuss your relationship. Otherwise you get the trailer dialogue: "What do want me to say..." etc.

Yes! Precisely! She's not some stupid lovesick teenager, she's an adult with feelings.
The voice actress does an incredible job of portraying this in LotSB.
I don't know if there's any more to say about it. If people didn't pick up on it while playing, there's no point in trying to prove it to them.

The easiest way to demonstrate what Liara was all about is to ask "What was the object she immediately picked up and then took with her right after Shep gives her the new intel?" Also, a very nice example of Chekhov's gun, BTW.

That is quite hilarious and best describes Jacob.

No. You're friend-zoned if she's talking about another LI.

At what level does it work on? Like...how "into" a romance do you have to be to knock yourself out of some blue romantics? How does death factor in?
i.e.:
Scenario 1 - Romance Liara in ME1 (romantic conflict "Can't I have you both?"), Romance Jack in ME2, Jack dies, do LotSB and attempt to romance Liara....what's the result?
Scenario 2 - Same thing, but you start romancing Miranda, but don't have sex yet...can you do LotSB and then talk to Miranda for the final prompt and get both romances?

Wait. Did you get some kind of "Embrace Eternity" scene in ME2? Really? I got a nice reunion w Liara, and we discussed having blue children, but not much was shown beyond a hug?!

Here's the angry comment about Miranda (not my vid). If I come across more I'll edit this post.

My FemShep started kissing her, then she grabbed her ass and Liara's face lit up (and her eyes went EE black while she gasped)
