No. That would be a whole new level of weird. BioWare isn't going there.

You know they're going to add more for ME3 seeing as how there are some players that go through (like myself) and do what I like to call "bloodbath" runs where everyone but the minimal amount of people in order to survive die. Reason they will, is because I seriously doubt that BioWare is going to go out of their way to "punish" players for doing "bloodbath" runs by not adding more LIs in ME3. Im not saying your suggestion is a bad idea OP, but at the same time, it's not a good one either.
Bloodbath runs yes... But trying out different scenarios and RPing also.
I know I'm not the only one who feels that the "everyone lives" result from the suicide mission is a tad too easy and happily ever after considering all the pre release hype about darkness and impossible odds...
Bioware didn't punish us for the loss of Wrex, when "everyone 100% certain had a save file where Wrex lives!!11!"...

How can anybody be against new possibilities?
I mean as long as they continues the old romances then i can't see why anybody would be against they added new ones?

Well then you could look at it this way:
If all your possible LIs from ME2/ME1 survive the SM then those are the only ones that carry over into ME3 (Also I think BW has already mentioned somewhere that your LI plays a big role in ME3) And if they dont, then you have a few possible new prospects for ME3 (because inevitably there will be new squad members lol)

I agree with the OP but I do think femshep should be able to get it on with Joker.
That's disturbing . . . . the thought of crunchy . . . nvm.
So, there will be new romances in ME3, although, I have no idea what they are going to do this time =/

I just hope that they dont pull the whole thing with your LI of "Choose between saving your LI" or "Sacraficing them for the greater good." cliche because that has SOOOOOOOOO been over played lol.

Yeah, people who think there will be no more new squaddies are in serious denial.
Someone already guessed, that the LotSB method with Liara might be how some of the possible survivors from the ME2 squad will be handled in ME3. I'm betting not everyone will have that "day in the limelight" personal mission in the release version of the game, but Bioware might add more as DLC...
This would in fact be a somewhat clean and all around satisfying solution: A brand new, but smaller squad, and several chances to take out some of those "old favorites" for that last mission together.

How about no new romances, but allow players who imported romance free saves (or didnt play ME1-2) a way of starting them with ME1-2 characters?
Problem solved.
Exactly what I was thinking. At the very least, if a romance subplot must be included, just have it focus on you rekindling the relationship you started in ME1 or 2...of course, some would argue that takes away the choice of who to romance to a degree, but I'm sure there's a way around that.

But developing those new romances uses resources that could be spent on the old romances. The way i see it, you can either have a lot of small superficial romances, or just a few really deep romances.
edit: Oh, and they should make it harder, so that you have to carefully choose your answers or the romance can die. unlike.

I'm pretty sure that they won't have new romances in ME3. It's the final act, and I expect that we're supposed to have finally have some sort of resolution with our past LIs. If someone's new to the series, then perhaps they'll get a default romance. Meanwhile, with the Thane/Kaidan triangle going on for my Shepard, I want to get that sorted out once and for all (if Thane somehow makes it that long & there's a cure for Kepral's).
Until you've actually seen it from the mouth of a Dev I dont think you can honestly say "Im pretty sure they wont...." Why? Let me give you an example of one of my characters which would prove your theory wrong:
My Infiltrator through ME1, remained single and sacraficed Ashley on Virmire (Making Ash not a possibility) and didnt romance Liara. Through ME2 my bloodbath run (where I kill everyone but Kasumi and Zaeed) he still remains single with again, no LI, not even a "dinner date' with Kelly because she's dead too in my blood bath run.
Now, to the actual proving lol. I cant remember where it was stated but if memory serves, I believe it was stated that your LI is going to play a big/major role in ME3. Now, if that's the case, that means they HAVE to add new LIs by default depending on how "big/major" that role is your LI plays in ME3...In theory. However, thinking about it, it can't be TOO major because there will inevitably be players that do runs where they have remained single throughout the course of all 3 games. Which means they will probably stick some sort of "default" character in the story that is supposed to fill this role that the LI was supposed to originally play. But even in that scenario, BW still has to add new LIs to ME3 because there are also, a select few players who didnt find ANY of the LIs appealing in either of the previous two installments of the game and thus adding new LIs to ME3 as a final attempt to get the player "involved" romantically with a squaddie or NPC.

A link would be immensely helpful if you can, because this is the first time I've heard of it.

Can we start the ME3 m/m romance threads now? Is this the trigger?
Hope so, Im guessing the Normandy will get renamed as "the love ship" in ME3 if more LIs get thrown in there.
But really, able to cheat on two LIs so far? I don't think so.
