Has anybody mentioned colliders, by the way?

Typically, collider geometry seems to be restricted to square boxes, that are slightly larger than their parent objects (probably to avoid clipping problems), which gets quite annoying, when you can't cut the corner around a rounded object and sometimes even get stuck and have to stop running, before being able to strafe.

(...and then there's the infamous occasional magical elevation and sticking to the top of a collider corner...)

Not being able to sit down. It just annoys me for some reason.

In no particular order, and with no regard as to whether it's been mentioned before in this thread:

CHARACTER CREATOR!

It sucks. Many times I've got something looking decent in the Char Creator and in game it looks horrid.  Give us a 360 view capability, with different lighting, etc.  AND NO IDLE ANIMATIONS OR STRANGE "SCAN" THINGIES WHEN I'M TRYING TO EDIT MY FACE!!!  *Sheesh*

ARMOR in ME2!!!

Or lack thereof regarding certain squadmates. I want an armor system that lets you customize the look, like 3 or 4 different models of N7 type gear, but with customizable mods that give you the stats. This way, we can leave the damn helmets behind (since the bonuses are in the mods), and we can see our character's face. Either that, or let Shepard take the helmet off in conversations!! (Or when kissing or drinking or...)

And for God's sake, Miranda, PUT SOME DAMNED ARMOR ON! A skin tight jumpsuit is neither combat capable or vacuum/hazardous environment friendly. This goes for you as well, Samara. And Jack. And everyone who doesn't have a full suit of armor.

THERMAL CLIPS

Ok, I can live with this retcon...but only if it worked the way they said it worked.

One thermal clip = one reload for any weapon. All weapons share the same "spare" thermal clip pool. Thermal clips are universal, remember that, Bioware? Please make them really universal!

Ok, I think I'm done for now.

[/rant]

I agree with the character editor being crap, but I would call that a major gripe for me at least.  You would think for a game that was suposed to be a 3 parter from the begining, that makeing a good character editor would be a priority.

The armor to I agree on...Jacks supenders in combat are laughable.  Same goes fo no helmets in space, who thought that was a good idea?

I do give creddit on the invention of the thermal clips in ME2 though.  How BW wrote them in as a geth invention.   It at least made sense compared to the lack of thermal clips in ME.

Why not give the player the option to alter the crew's dining menu? Then you can have lots more interaction and reaction from your crew as you order the chef to cook pork chops and applesauce or shark fin soup. "Pork shops? Thanks, Commander!" Or, "Dammit, not pizza again!" You could even get paragon or renegade points for what you order for your crew, say veggie plates for Paragon or double death fudge nuggets for Renegade. Bioware could even milk us insane fans for more money with special dinner DLCs.

Oh, the character creator isn't a major gripe.  This is the "silly demands and nitpicking thread."  It bugs me, but not to such a degree that it breaks the game or anything like that.

And I agree with you on the thermal clips, I just wish they'd been universal like the codex says they are.

You can get differing numbers of reloads for each weapon for every thermal clip you pick up, and each weapon has its own exclusive supply of thermal clips, when they're supposed to be universal.  Why can't I take thermal clips from my Heavy Pistol (which I hardly use) and use them for my Sniper Rifle?  They're universal, right?

Again, not a game breaking gripe, just something that bugs me.  I just wish Bioware had either made thermal clips universal, or changed the explanation.

Continuing on with the impromptu rant, food could affect mission morale! Thane was forced to eat something that violated his religious principals, Miranda gains two pounds and no longer fits into her outfit and they HATE you for two missions or so. You may even have your party stock up on carbs before strenuous missions. Sadly, I'm getting excited thinking about it.

I hated Shepard's bit in Thane's loyalty mission when they got to Kolyat. The stutter step and the "oh, safety's still on...now I'm ready" bit. Pulled me out and made me think of Shepard as a buffoon. I felt like it was going for comedic effect, but I felt it just came across as stupid.

Yanno...as silly as this sounds on the surface...I'd pay for it, if it wasn't too expensive.  Image IPB  Does that make me one of those "insane fans"?  dammit...lol

Way to think too much into it.  Image IPB  [/kidding]

Seriously, though, it's a minor thing, but it's a good idea at its core.  I want more character interaction with my squad.  More things that affect loyalty and morale.  Just...more MORE!  Is that too much to ask?

Well they kinda are universal, it's not like some games where you run across ammo, and realize that it's the wrong kind for what you're using.  No, any weapon that is not currently full on thermal clips gets an additional clip when you pick one up (sometimes two).  How do they do this?  They're universal, that's how.

As for taking clips out of weapons, I think that's a gameplay mechanic.  Bioware is telling you to not monopolize yourself with one weapon.  If you run out of ammo with your weapon, you've been using that one for too long (and you might not be a very good shot), time to switch it up!  This is designed to make the powerful weapons limited and to encourage you to try other weapons.  There's no lore reason for being unable to move clips around, other than maybe the only way to remove thermal clips is to use them and eject them.  It kinda sucks, but it is understandable why they did it that way.

Again, I understand why Bioware made thermal clips work like they do.  Thermal clips just don't work like the in-game explanation for them says they work.  They're not truly universal.  The thermal clips in my heavy pistol cannot be used for my sniper rifle.

However, since Bioware wrote the codex to say that thermal clips were universal, it bugs me that they aren't.  Which is why I suggested changing the explanation in my previous post.  I'm fine with how thermal clips work.  I really am.  I'm just bugged by the fact that the explanation for them doesn't match gameplay.

It really bugs me that when you first meet up with Solus and he's trying to figure out who you are and who you work for yet he's completely oblivious to N7 or Cerberus armor markings all over you or your colleagues.

-"Oops, glided just past that one. Sorry Commander."

Tarak clips something fierce... it's not even a tiny clip or something that only occasionally happens when the camera bugs out. It happens EVERY TIME and we sit there staring into this empty cranium for several seconds. How did something like that make it into the final release?

Also happens on Tuchunka - Wrex turns around and punchs the other Krogan out. Well we can hear him do it but we never see it.

Ever try talking to Wrex before getting a friendly varren following you?  Try it, might change your mind. ;)

As for Tarak, that only happens if you bring Zaeed with you, the camera goes all wonky after they have their special dialogue.

I will never understand why a supposed elite soldier like Shepard goes into battle with a half of a box of ammunition, fully aware it won't last the encounter and expecting to be able to loot corpses and/or find conveniently discarded ammunition along the way.

It makes 0 sense.  It also means that if you use a lot of ammo, you're always scrounging around after a fire fight, instead of moving forward.  The game is constantly trying to push you forward with tense music and a sense of urgency, and then they throw in this donkey mechanic of having to actively pause and look around by corpses and behind boxes for @#$%ing ammunition.

I like reloading, I like limited weapon use but I don't like nor understand scrounging for discarded ammo.  That's just stupid.

Either let me keep my discards and have them cool down slowly (out of battle), able to be re-used, or come up with some technobable that generate new clips over time.  Put an end to scrounging like a retard that has you constantly wondering why Shepard doesn't wise the @#$% up and take more ammo next time...

I hate getting thrown out of the upgrade computer when I apply an upgrade. Why can't I make multiple upgrades?

I hate that when I continue after dying that my squad mates sometimes swap positions on the power wheel.

Well if you think about it, Shepard goes into every mission fully loaded, except possibly on heavy weapon ammo (whole different can of worms).  There is already an off-hand ammo pack that lets you carry an extra ten percent ammo for each weapon.  This assumes that Shepard is already carrying as much ammo as he/she can, and the weapons are just that powerful that they produce heat that quickly.  I mean, where do you plan on keeping more ammo?  In Shepard's underwear?

Searching for ammo is a time-honored tradition in shooters and in RPGs.  Did you expect to have an ammo system but then not have to look for more when you ran out?

I've thought of new things that bug me.

In ME1, when you do a new playthrough with the same character, you keep all your paragon/renegade points. In ME2 you get set back to 0. How lame is that. Why do they do this to me.

Oh and another thing, that isn't even about BioWare.

Youtube videos of romance scenes where Shepard is full blown renegade and looks like a horror movie monster.

Internet dudes, I beg you, stop posting romance scenes with Horror Movie Shepard. It's so creepy and weird watching Miranda/Jack/Tali/Garrus/Thane having a flirtatious moment with freakish cyborg Shep. Talk about a moodkiller. And when freakish cyborg Shep smiles leeringly... *shudders*

It is a little weird that nobody ever comments on my Shepard's frightening scars and glowing eyes.
