I'm afraid that if Bioware gets pushed into the deadline for ME3 that they might do something stupid like SW EP3 where the game starts with a giant battle scene around the Citadel and you don't get to do anything.

That would suck.

I honestly would not mind if the reapers win in the end. A final shot of Shepard and his/her loved one embracing one last time before their inevitable doom could make for a sad but also very interesting and powerful ending. As long as the rest of the game is fulfilling and filled with a good story I don't see why it would be neccesary to have a happy ending.

Oh yeah, two games of trying to stop the reapers go down the drain. I can't believe you would even mention this. If this happens Im gonna be seriously pissed. I may not buy a BW game ever again.

Why the hell do some of you want such a depressing ending?

"We need hundreds of millions on our side to be viciously slaughtered to make it feel epic, herp derpr"

Didn't you know? Being contrarian is the cool thing these days!

That's why I'm not contrarian.

I wouldn't mind that scenario for the martyr ending we're almost certainly going to have. Setting the nuke on a short fuse with no chance of escape, the pair share a moment before they save the day.

I agree w/ OP it should be epic colonies will be lost and armies on all sides will suffer alot even if a planet killer is found it should not be the solve all machine even if we manage to pull out several planet killers or something even large it should seriously hurt the reapers but not kill them in one swoop if we're fighting a trillion plus reapers its gotta be epic I don't care if they pull a final fantasy and make the end fight last a few hours as long as I can save as I want to (like I more or less can now) I'm fine with that.

I think ME3 will be all about uniting as much races and groups as possible and setting up a joined attack against the Reaper fleet (the Rachni might also help out if you made a certain decision in ME1).

Maybe, at a certain point in the story, a weakness will be discovered and Shepard could choose to go and launch a "backdoor" attack and exploit said weakness (think Independence Day), ultimately resulting in a victory.

The story might end with lots of casualties, but there would also be a union among the races.

Agreed 100%. I'd also like to see a war instead of Shep finding a really old BFG. And I'd also like to see the war, unlike DA where you were wandering around Ferelden during the blight, but all you could see was the map getting darker.. :(
This is the type of battle I'd like to see: (with better animations :P)

Sadly I don't think it will happen. :( Bioware is too much of a wuss... We'll end up running around the galaxy recruiting everyone and going to stumble upon an instant reaper-killer-virus/bomb/laser...
