What. I never knew this. I always assumed it was a graphical glitch or something >.> Well, they were smart geth for not coming out of the tunnel to greet the Mako's cannon.

By the time you get to Legion's loyalty mission, your shields and health should be high enough that it won't kill you.
It just drops my shields, usually, so I always melee it, just to save ammo.

Fortunately, you can fly backwards, and those jump jets do have quite a bit of power. So I made it to safety.

The first time I used the Hammerhead vehicle was during the Overlord mission, I had no idea the thing could boost itself into the air. I spent a good 30-40 minutes trying to speed myself up enough to move between the floating rocks in the lava before blowing up. Came so close to doing it all the way across each time that I just assumed I was failing.
I had an issue with that part but in a different way i spent ages getting blown up by trying to use the speed boost to get over the rocks not knowing the hammerhead could jump after many deaths i finally looked at the controls which i should have really done in the first place.

In ME1 it was discovering two conversation trees I hadn't found in multiple playthroughs:
- I stumbled across a discussion with Tali about her father that I somehow had missed every other time - and I thought I'd THOROUGHLY explored everything she had to say.
- I backtracked at Noveria just after I arrived and discovered that there was an entire discussion available from Matsuo - and a very cordial one at that, which was completely unexpected.

Honestly I'm confident even the writers know how ham-fisted that was. But they wrote and designed themselves into a corner with that one.

A minor "D'oh" moment for me. I was driving the Mako around on Virmire and looking around in awe at the pretty scenery... And accidentally drove the Mako through a gap in the rocks leading to deep water.
"Critical Mission Failure". XD
I've done that before! xD
I've also accidentally driven the Mako off the path on Therum and into the lava. And bounced the Mako off the sky bridge on Feros...
... In my defense, these all happened on different playthroughs. >.>

I just finished an ME1 playthrough (my...who knows how many'th) and for the first time stumbled upon the Terra Firma party dude outside Flux.

This belongs more in my nitpicks thread, but it is somewhat related:
I often avoided that spot in later playthroughs because of the loading zone that was inexplicably placed somewhere between the Flux stairs and where Emily Wong/Terra Firma guy are. It was always so jarring to have it right in the middle of the hallway.
So in some later saves, even when I knew about the Terra Firma guy, I just didn't go there - heh. Even when the time came to go to Anderson in Flux I'd try to hug the wall to avoid it.

I decided, "Hey, Thane's loyal, and he's an assassin!" Forgetting that Miranda stated that I need a tech expert.
Whoops.

LOL thats what I thought on the first 2 playthroughs - graphical glitch. Oh and I also managed to drive off the skywalk as well. I believe it was about 90 seconds before I got the mission failure screen - its a long way down!

Yup, I didn't know that until my 8th playthrough. Always assumed it was a graphical bug. You actually need to get out of the Mako and proceed into the tunnels on foot to take out those geth, and there's quite a few tunnels with one or two geth inside.bambooxfox wrote...

Even after playing as an infiltrator for months, I manage to do this multiple times on every playthrough.
