The crucible successfully crippled the majority of Reapers forces with a viral code that shattered their AI and turned their fractious systems against themselves, but the Reaper threat is only one of many challenges the galaxy faces. Three years after the Crucible's activation, the Council finds itself cornered by the political ramifications left in the wake of Shepard's decision to cure the Krogan genophage and cement Urdnot Wrex's as de facto leader of the Krogan race. Unwilling to foment greater strife in the galaxy and incapable of denying the turn-around of the public's perception of the Krogan race--from monsters to saviors once again--the council elects to raise a Krogan soldier to the ranks of Spectre-hood as a way to belay political pressure. They choose Tevanka, a Female Krogan who recently discovered, after a brutal but celebrated tour of Thessia, Palaven, and Earth, that her infertility had nothing to do with the genophage. Can Tevanka uphold the galaxy's expectations for the first Krogan spectre? Does she live up to the standards set by Shepard's precedence?
