Okay, this isn't a thread to **** about alllll the insane amount of bugs and glitches in the game. I have played through it with them before, sometimes they give me a good laugh. Seriously.

However, my game is literally unplayable, in other words, I cannot progress.

I have tried different variables to see if I can fix the issue myself, but I cant, the only thing I have NOT tried is getting rid of my dlc, I will try that in a bit but hopefully my hesitation is understandable. I have also already tried contacting the official customer support to which they told me to come here and see if other players can fix my issue, I had a chuckle, can you guys get into the game source and fix my problem for me? >>

Anyway, enough talking, here's my issue:

I picked the game up after a break for a few months, everything played fine with the obvious bugs but easily ignorable. A few days ago I started a new game, everything has played rather smoothly, I have done all the quests save the Urn of Sacred Ashes, meaning I'm near game completion. So I toddle off to get the dead chick's ashes and as I venture into the main room everything seems fine.

Up until the point I notice that the lecturn ( I believe it's called...how about the firey bowl) is literrally MISSING from the room. It is not there, vanished, gone, met it's maker, ceased to be. This means I cannot light the firey bowl to open the door and proceed through the rest of the temple.

At first I thought it was a simple memory leak from playing too long. I turned my xbox off for a few hours, then start to play again and it's still gone. So I figure, okay, maybe it's just this save. So I reload a prior save just before I entered the temple. Same issue. I reloaded a save from two hours back, same thing. Reloaded a save from TEN HOURS back, nothing. So, obviously I'm pissed at this point. I get curious, I start a new game, rush through the opening and get to the temple and guess what, SAME THING. So it's not just my saves...IT'S MY GAME!

My game is rendered unplayable. I have tried different variables to see what was messing it up, switching party members, going by myself, so on so forth and the issue still persists and I feel I have literally thrown forty hours of my life away. I have tried to clear my cache, still there and I can't play any of my games without being connected to Live as they are rendered corrupted by the DLC, which is utter bullcrap...>> BUT, I am going to try to see if deleting my DLC and starting fresh will work.

I have researched for hours to see if anyone else has had this issue and so far have fround nothing, it would be nice to know if I'm not the only one. As being the only one puts me in the bad position of no one being able to reproduce this event...and meaning a fix is doubtful...

Sorry this was long, if I get nothing worthwhile in response (looking at all these threads with the lack of official bioware posters, I'm very sure I wont get ****) I'm going to contact Bioware itself, what good that'll do me, I'm unsure. I just hope something is figured out and I'm not the only one with this issue. Thanks for taking the time to read this stupid long thing over and thanks ahead for any potential help given.

Not entirely sure what to suggest other than delete the game saves (basically the entire character) it first started happening with. It's not unheard of for games to act up do to corrupt saves even if you aren't using said saves any more.

That sounds very possible, and as much as it would suck to delete that character...If it will solve this problem, I'll risk it. If nothing else I try works, I'll see if this does. Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate it.

Sigh...deleting saves and/or characters should absolutely be considered as a last resort ONLY. Deletion is the canned customer service response you get from EA tech support and anyone with any technical knowledge should realize it's generally bad advice. 99% of the time, it's overkill.

But if you've tried everything else...

I have indeed tried everything else, EA tech support actually sent me here. Trust me, deleting everything is something I also think would be overkill but when no one has this same problem but myself and it's doubtful that Bioware will provide a fix just for me, it's the only thing I can do before I irritate myself with constant emailing back and forth with a company that will probably tell me that it's hopeless.

-sigh-

I just hope it works, or something works.

You might try clearing your system cache. Go to the System Tab, then select memory, then highlight your HD and hit Y. Should see an option to "CLear System Cache". You'll have to repatch all your games, but that's no big deal.

Hope it works for you.

Sigh all you want but sounds to me he's reached the point where nothing else will work, and seeing as his problem carries over to all his playthroughs now it'll be a good bet it's that character save that caused it.
