I asked Fernando Melo if it was ok to erase Origins/Awakening after I import them into WH. He said this

Hi NKKK,

Yes, should be. If you have characters that have played through
origins -> awakening -> golems -> WH, or jumped some of those
into WH, then all you need to import moving forward is those WH save
games.



The only point I'd add - and it is purely personal preference - you
won't know what DA2 or future choices are related to decisions in
origins/awakening etc. So if after DA2 you want to try different
decisions to see what changes, then you would need to go back to where
that decision happens (e.g. origins/awakening/golems/wh) - in which case
you'd need the older saves, you won't be able to import a WH save into
origins/awakening/golems, for ex.

So for us console players with many characters and having a hard tme with Limited Saves, there's hope. Let's hope this won't happen again with DA2 for the console.
