Is that a rpg? No.

And I would like the end of the ME trilogy to be amazing, long, and with as little bugs as possible thank you very much.

Why do people want multiplayer in everything? I dont get it, almost every single multiplayer game out there is identical, Halo and COD are two examples, and both of them lack in a good singleplayer. It's multiplayer that has put me slightly off Dead space 2, and made me not get Bioshock 2.

COD doesn't really have that good of multiplayer either. Shoddy spawn points, overpriced map packs (some of them repeats from the first game) and once you get certain weapons, it's easy to railroad other players. And the campaign  was laughable. Beat it in little more than 4 hours. I never even bothered to play Reach. Halo has just been dressing up the same crap in nicer clothes for awhile now. Multiplayer made that franchise progressively worse as it went on. The story and campaigns got smaller and smaller until you have the WTF that was ODST.

This is a character driven RPG, I wouldn't want there to be co-op or multiplayer which is usually the sign of a over the top action FPS (not that those are bad, but they aren't character driven RPGs)

Halo: Reach was actually quite good, it definitely had a more mature feel to it than the others. I haven't played any COD since 3 so I can't comment.

Anyway though, each game in the ME series so far as taken me at least 50 hours to complete (basically doing everything though), while Reach took maybe 12 hours. ME is just not a game that usually works with a multiplayer component. If it were done well (I doubt it) it would detract from the work that goes into the main game (the part that is really the most important) and if it was done crappily (likely) it would still detract from the main game, although not as much as if they worked really hard to make it work.

I think what all of you talking about multiplayer really want is a Mass Effect universe MMO, which probably would be pretty interesting. I don't know if I could start playing it though because it could quite possibly ruin my life (all my free time away).

No, God

I would put up an actual argument, however this conveys my feelings completely.

I'd like to see multiplayer in some form. Co-op maybe ? It will prolong the 'life' of the game.

Damn, let just Bioware work on breathtaking singleplayer with awesome story. If you want multiplayer, then there are LOTS of other games.

Why so many people wants some lame multiplayer in every game? :/

Well, I personally want it to extend the life of the game. That or at least some kind of  'skirmish' feature. I am still playing 'Terrorist Hunt' on R6V2, and I am not bored.

70 hour RPGs don't need co-op to extend their life..

A "skirmish" idea where you choose your squad and then choose how many enemies and what type are on whatever area you choose would be tolerable, but I'd still rather see all the effort going into the core game.

If ME ever delves into multiplayer it would probably be something like 'do X task in X amount of time' and whoever did it first wins. For straight up shootout versus or co-op? GOD no. Powers pause the game to make them viable, for crying out loud!

Well, this is a storyline request.
Have the Reapers do a pincer move targeting the Citadel with half their fleet and Earth with the other half. Then make it like ME2's last mission where you choose which people go where, except in this case it's fleets of different species( or whatever new weapon you use to fight them in your plan) and you order them to go fight in different instances. But have it be VERY grave repercussions. Like, for example, the Reapers are tearing up Earth. Do you really send the Turians or Krogan to go help Humanity? Turians, by the way, would be bad because they are still suspicious from the first contact war and Krogan, lets face it, they won't save a single human they'll just fight the Reapers for kicks. Then, because you were an idiot, The REAPERS tear apart 11 billion humans because you didn't send the Alliance to help Earth. And it needs to end on EDEN PRIME. That is a necessity. It all started there it needs to end there.

Game play request: Okay, ME2's combat system was amazing. I love the Gears of War style cover and movement but I DON'T like how you don't have infinite ammo. I liked the old ME1 ammo system better but you should keep Heavy weapons on Ammo otherwise I'll just spam my infinite Cain at the reapers. Give me a sprint ability that either lasts longer than a fat guy's jog or is a decent speed. ME1 did this nicely. ME2 the sprint lasted the same amount of time with 1/4 the speed. Fix this.

Collecting: Keep the new system of bypassing stuff and hacking. Before, in ME1, you punished me for not having Tali and Kaidan in my group 24/7. Now, I can collect everything I can find. I like that. Make more variables for that though, like some added tricks to trip me up occasionally. But for the most part, nice improvement.

Missions: I agree with the person who made this thread. There should be multiple paths to choose to complete a level. The last level in ME2, you scratched the surface of this with customizing how to pick squad mates and outcomes, but you didn't make multiple paths to pick to get through the mission.

Dialogue: I like the way you took out charm/intimidate and replaced it with the new point-solely based method. I also LOVE the interruptions. One thing in both Mass Effects I noticed was that squad-based dialogue was a little generic. Like if Miranda talked at all during the missions, it was just a Miranda-version of what Jacob would say. It should be more personal. Drag out squadmates' emotions. And when you actually talk to a squadmate, you got five lines and maybe two more if they are your LI. Give me more. Stretch out what they have to say. Don't just do a post mission synopsis of what they think. Allow me to communicate with them and hear this dialogue whenever I want. Not just their cheezy banter.

Inventory: I liked how you decreased the Huge amount of weapons/armor you could have. 3 types of armor per species, four weapons, spectre gear... blah blah blah. Okay, you did the right thing but know it is not enough variables in the customization. You need to hit that middle ground where you have 5-7 models of each weapon. Not 3, (ME2) not 15(ME1).

Concept: Last time it was a perfect protagonist(Shepherd) vs. antagonist(Saren). Now it's an undefinable enemy. I mean, we know it's the Reapers, but before we felt the feelings of the other side. Now, it dosen't feel as much as an RPG. I do know the second addition is always the weakest part in most stories, but that still means that you can deliver an epic story since you didn't lose sight(for the most part) on the ME2 story.

Enemies: Both Mass Effects did virtually the same things with enemies. Like 5 factions and like 4 different types of them. Example: Rachni Warrior, Rachni Worker, Rachni Brood Warrior, Rachni Queen. Blood Pack Trooper, Blood Pack Pyro, Blood Pack Heavy, Blood Back Boom Squad. This is a fancy way of saying,"We're not creative so we changed some letters and gave them new guns." Give them diversity! I want them to have some differences besides weaponry. Change their health, how fast they move, their looks, their fighting tactics, etc. For example, every Krogan charges me with a shotgun. Change their name and they do the exact same thing. Do like a free for all huge battle, like in Mordin's mission where the Blue Suns and Blood Pack are fighting in the streets and you have to momentarily take a side.

Allies: This is a biggie. All allies do the exact same thing. They run right next to you and switch weapons when appropriate. Good start as this is a necessity, but have Jack use her powers without me telling her to at least more than once every 10 minutes. I don't want to babysit the AI. Make them more independent. But the real issue is they all have the same uniform styles of fighting, with the exception of Grunt, who goes into a blood rage. Have them all have a signature style. Each one has a unique way of fighting, different from the others.

You're thinking from a person who has never played any MP before. It
could just as easily be edited in a way that using powers the game won't
pause at all. I mean out of all online games ever none of them let a
problem like this arise because of pause, ME2 already made the powers in
a way that it becomes more action than it is tactical.

If bioware won't release mass effect mp , modders will. They might just use CryEngine3 instead, and sniff the models animations out of ME directly.

BTW , In an interview with EA boss Ricitiello , he said some Vancouver or other canadian studio has some crazy stereo 3d multiplayer stuff in the works , coming in 2012. I dont think a multiplayer game takes so long, but, what the hell . What studio EA has in Vancouver or Toronto? I dont remember the location exactly.

personally, i wouldnt want an online multiplayer death match type thing. sure it might be fun but it'd just be a bunch of stasis spamming. itd be cool in the future when consoles are capable of doing more things like that but ME3 should still be the single player campaign.

although i wouldnt mind playing a co-op ME game. with global cooldowns they could remove the pausing aspect of the game. it'd just be fun playing a vangaurd with a friend playing an infiltrator. i mean what co-op game isnt more fun then the single player version of the same game?

Then you have no grounds to criticise it.

ON TOPIC: No multi-player for ME3. Maybe after Shepard's story is finished. I wouldn't care then.
