It's unlikely to be your go-to power for all applications with an Adept. There are just too many good options.

It's more than worth it, to drop Warp Ammo - Adepts don't need ammo powers. Defenses are gone very fast (and since the majority of enemies have shields; Warp Ammo is useless anyway); it helps (a little) against armor and barriers, but it only saves a couple of bullets at best. Ragdolled enemies are goners anyway, the Warp Ammo bonus is overkill and not needed at all.
Adepts should use Barrier to increase survivability or ED to boost shield and to help stripping enemy shields (ED is bliss on Geth missions) - Stasis is also a great bonus power, particulary on missions where lots of enemies immune to Singularity are encountered (Purgatory, Garrus' LM, Grunt's LM for exaple) plus it allows to keep multiple enemies out of a fight, very useful - not mentioning the insane damage bonus. The double scion fight on Horizon is a joke for the Stasis Adept - you can lock both Scions at the same time.

Adept's passive affects it right? I always assumed it did, but after the discovery with Kasumi I take nothing on faith anymore.

I found it very helpful in Horizon in particular, and it was also a lot of fun in Lair of the Shadow Broker, where you can Stasis one of the bosses whenever it gets close and save yourself that way. Then shoot it like crazy when Stasis breaks. The boss does this with just long enough intervals that it doesn't get immune to Stasis.
Plus Stasis oneshots husks and drones. Quite helpful.
For some reason it doesn't work on Harbinger. Not quite sure why, it works on every other non-boss enemy and even some bosses.

I had kinda hard time with the Shadow Broker himself last night, while playing Adept on insanity. Stasis did nothing on him, and Singlarity didn't bother him. It was tough until I realized that I could damage him by angling the warp. Stasis may be useful for Vasir, but not for the SB.termokanden wrote...

I had a Grunt along for squad incendiary ammo, but after I died once, that ammo power wasn't available anymore as Grunt wasn't in the final fight. If I had played a little bit more carefully, wouldn't have died that first time and would have been easier. I think I would have been better off taking an ammo power instead of stasis. Liara's stasis power would have been enough for the rest of the mission.

No Stasis doesn't do much against SB. When his shields are up, you can make him stop for a second with Singularity, even without angling it. When he's down to armor, angled Warp will stop him for a second and deal good damage. Liara's Warp will never be stopped by the shield, by the way, so this is a very good investment.
Basically I just dragged him around the stairs while shooting at him and stopping him with Singularity/Warp so he never got close.

It depend about you.
If you find yourself often with ennemy getting near you and killing you, stasis is definitly a great power, it can save your life in this case and give you some strategic control over the battle.
If you are used to deal without stasis then you can try other power.
I played with warp ammo for my first Adept in insanity, and when i droped it to try stasis, i didn't see much change about the dammage (may be i play better i don't know, i was afraid i would suffer from the loss, but no ...).
So i'm playing with barrier, i always find myself loosing my shield too quickly in insanity and waiting for your shield to regenerate is boring and dangerous at the same time.
Barrier gave me everything i wanted, when i loose my shield i can reactivate it immediatly at a more powerfull strengh. I'm wasting less time and i really enjoy this new change.
I won't take warp ammo again

Isn't that insane damage bonus that happens the moment statis wears off a bug? It seriously ruins the experience of fighting big guys like YMRS when a burst of your assault rifle the moment statis goes down will almost destroy them .
Yes, Christina Norman confirmed it is a bug.
Stasis is still great even without exploiting this insane damage bug.

Edit: never mind, someone else confirmed it is a bug.
As for stasis, I have mixed feelings. It's probably borderline OP, even without the bug, honestly.

Normally you have to take extra steps not normally needed in a game to perform an exploit. This is not the case here, so I have come to the conclusion that it's the wrong word for it. In fact you have to take extra steps NOT to perform the exploit, which I wouldn't expect from any player.
Stasis is bugged to work too well. Saying players are exploiting it is wrong. It's just bugged.

ME2 - Stasis Adept on Horizon
Stasis plus Singularity provide excellent CC, add Kasumi's Flashbang to 'disarm' Harbinger and you can kill at will.

Stasis is the closest thing this game has to an instant kill. It takes an enemy out of the fight for a long time, then ragdolls them when they come out, so not only are they helpless, they take +100% more damage, making it incredibly easily to kill them before they get up.
Yeah, Stasis offers a huge damage boost even when not exploiting the 'fall of death', but I like it most because it completely removes an enemy for quite some time. It's a 100% reliable CC power, something Singularity is not, but it has other strengths to compensate (draining damage, can hold multiple enemies at once, warp detonations).
I'm still not sure how the extra damage works when enemies are down. I experience instakills when enemies lay on the ground for several seconds. Take a look at what happened to first Scion killed at 4.19; same thing happened in my Tela Vasir vid at 3.00; weird.

Yeah, very odd. Probably just another bug, this game has a fair amount (glitching on top of things, detached camera, etc).

What was weird, though, the second scion on the platforms. I wasn't able to get my stasis off before the platform locked in place.
I stasis'd it anyway and the thing, while not dead, just laid there after it ragdolled.. It didn't get up. It didn't fire off shockwaves. It didn't get up and do anything until I moved shep to its platform after everything else was dead. I guess all those husk heads just needed a break from carting that back hump all over the place. Nap time.
