There is obviously blank space on the character creator screen for extra classes.

This game is just begging for a monk.

Im also wondering, how they will impliment new classes in expansions.. Would they have to make new origin stories for new classes?

Maybe if they just did them as new specializations and let people now pick a 3rd specialization?

Rogue : Ninja / Pirate

Warrior : Monk / Dragoon

Mage : Summoner / Black mage

I think what it could be then is

Ninja : New weapons are added to the game (Katanas , & shuriken for ranged) and can only be used by Ninjas , their abilities would include both stealth & damage related things

Pirate : Pirate exclusive guns added for ranged weapon , abilities would include some sort of gambling buff things as well as some special damage gunshot talents

Monk : Special knuckles added to game that only they can use , abilities would include special monk attacks and a healing ability

Dragoon : Lances would be added to the game , you would be able to summon drakes as pets the same way hunters summon assorted animals

Summoner : The mage would get 4 summons of special creatures , 1 to represent fire , ice , lightning , and earth and they would assist the party like hunters pets do

Black mage : The mage would gain a huge bonus to spell damage and the abilities would include 4 new and ultra powerful nukes

What do you think? Awesome isn't it? I ripped it off straight from FFXI but it would be cool

I would think 2 extra origin stories, one extra for mages and one extra for humans.

The second human origin would be with your character being left with a group of thieves, or the Chantry where a raid occurs, you fend off some of the darkspawn when the Wardens arrive and recruit you.

The extra mage one would be an apostate one where a demon approaches you in the fade (as you have not had the harrowing) and seduces you with an offer, which sends you to the Grey Wardens (dark spawn being less willing to be seduced by demons)

Come to think of it, maybe an extra dwarf origin story with you taking on the role of a surface dweller.

As for classes, maybe an Abomination class...  I would agree that a cleric class would be a good add-on; as well as an enchanter class.

Some cross-class abilities might also be nice allowing a warrior/ mage to picklock for example.

You are aware that Ninjas had absolutely nothing to do with Katanas right? I'd rather not see YET another game full of this general weaboo crap thanks.

Pirate : Pirate exclusive guns added for ranged weapon , abilities would include some sort of gambling buff things as well as some special damage gunshot talents

No guns please.

The others I'm not bothered by Well Black Mage seems to be just "Mages but stronger" with no actual difference in their spells so that's a pretty bad idea but meh.

I think you've been playing Final Fantasy a bit too much. Summoner, Dragoon, Ninja and Pirate all don't fit the universe's lore. Pirate MIGHT be able to fit. But Ninja? Doesn't fit the "medieval europe" feel to the universe. Black Mage would also make Mage even more unbalanced than it already is. Really if you run with 2-3 mages in your party, the game basically gets turned on easy mode if you micro-manage it, so imagine 2-3 "Black Mages" with bonuses to spellpower and even MORE powerful nukes(Storm of the Century isn't powerful enough?)

Honestly, I think the choices are pretty good, but if they did add anything, I'd like to see "Fencer" or someone who is a Warrior-DPS type that has a speciality in one-handed swords(not shields).

Isn't Duelist already basically fencer?

Oh and you say all those don't fit the european vibe but not mention monk?

They aren't in an asian place either so if you want to argue that then there you go lol

No, because Duelist is based off of Rogue and has no actual offensive weapon talents like "Dual Weapon Sweep" or "Shield Pummel".

I mostly just want a talent line for a Warrior using a Sword and no second weapon or a line of talents you could choose to use over dual-weapons weapon & shield.

Well you could technically run around with 1 sword if you wanted to but yeah theres no real special attacks for doing that

But I don't see why you would really want to do that that much

Edit : why for warrior? It would better suit rogue because fencers are not known to run around in plate armor or rely on strength but rather skill & speed instead

Cleric? C'mon, I'd like to see one. Or a semi-DPS buffing/healing class, spirit healer doesn't cut it imo.

Have you played a Rogue?  They get the full Dual-Weapon tree.

However, any sort of single-blade tree would be appropriate to both Rogues and Warriors.

Yes but they weren't funky martial art dudes who run about in robes and punched people in the face. Fighting monks were more along the lines of Templars who went on the crusades to Jerusalem.  They were well equiped soldiers.

Indeed...  They weren't Shaolin monks, or anything like that.

HOWEVER:  We've seen one corner of one continent.  There's a lot of room to expand.

Rogue -> Ninja , Swashbuckler/Brigand
(Special armor/clothing as Swashbuckler such as Bandana on Head, Striped Baggy Pants (with option of pegleg and Parrot-pet) and if your Main character is Swashbuckler, majority of your dialogue-choices will be "Arrrrrr!" or "Sail Ho", "Clean the poopdeck matey!") Surely i jest!

Monk -> Earth, Wind and Fire (Earth being the Resilient Tree, Wind being Speed etc)

Barbarian .-> Boar or Wolf-Tree (Tank or DPS)

A lot of these are straight out of D&D. Arcane Archer, Wild Mage, Sorcerer and Weapon Master are fine concepts. However, the remaining would not fit into the lore.

priest, i just find the heal not enough interesting. And priest of the maker could had some smiting skill.

I disagree about ninja and pirate, ninja is an assassin we already have, but with more oriental style, and pirate, well, without ship ?

Oh and just cause some class ideas don't fit the theme it doesn't mean they are impossible

DLC could add a whole new country off to the side of the mapor something , a new country with new races and classes that could travel overseas to ferelden
