Yay! You finally got one! =D  Looks great in that frame.

Yea when the framer suggested the pink/orange, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it worked out really well.

I hate you. Seriously, though, looks good: really nicely presented.

Already posted this elsewhere, but I figured it could go here too: just framed my Portal 2 litho; probably nearer the budget end of things, but I'm happy with it.  I seem to have caught the double-mount bug from various people here too...

The odd lines on the "rust"-coloured mount are just reflections and compression artefacts (I think I over-compressed the jpeg this time), it's actually plain.  The dimensions of the frame were slightly off causing the glass to be a bit too small but at least they've been prompt in terms of sending a replacement; so I'll be using them again for the Team litho.

Lucky, I wanted that Portal 2 litho and bought it when there was 10 left, but then they mysteriously ran out (second time this has happened) despite it still being listed in stock. If only Valve's store employee's were THBS employees...

Sad. :( They may be holding some back in case they need to send out replacements, assuming they do the same thing as Treehouse, so it may be an idea to check their store periodically over the coming weeks.

I thought they'd have unnumbered ones for sale too, but apparently not.  I'm a bit surprised by that.

Ok I just wanted to confirm that The Team Litho is 39".   I havent measured it, but I know because it fits the exact same space as my Kirkwall Gate Litho.

Its certainly a great litho to be able to tilt your head up to when looking away from the monitor!

Excuse the glare,  problem with Glass Frames.   I want to change the background for Cerberus.  Originally it held the Blightlands litho and the grey colour went really well with it.  It works as well for it, but a light blue would be far better.

I <3 the HMS Gryphon Litho so much!!   I know its one the Alice ones but thought I show up my setup

I finally got my Team lithograph framed and it's now one of my prized possessions. After much research, I archival framed it myself. The frame was ordered from WholesalePosterFrames.com and the matting was ordered from WholesaleMatBoards.com. They were a lot less than what Michael's wanted and plus I was scared to let the litho out of my sight anyway. :D

That looks outstanding :o. How much did you spend total? Was it easy to frame it by yourself?

Well, it wasn't too bad except that I had ordered the frame before the litho arrived and I had based my measurements on the 39.5x 22 that the litho was supposed to be. So the litho arrived and it was only 39x22.

At that point I just decided I'd order the mat board to make up the difference. It just required a little measuring and internet research to figure out what I was doing since I've never framed anything before.

The matting arrived yesterday and it took about an hour to get everything the way I wanted.

The price for the Custom Frame, UV Non-Glare Lens Cover, & the Acid Free Foamcore from the web page was around $75, but shipping pushed it to close to $100.

The mat board was around $12 a piece for each color, and the site demands you spend a minimum of $25. Shipping was only $10.

All and all it was about $140.

Wow SenseiZZ, I'm with everyone else - That does look outstanding!

I haven't even received mine yet but I was just going to bung it in the same frames I used for my others (diff size of course) but damn, I'm going to see what I can do to make it look like yours...hey, do you take orders? :D

Thanks! Would you mind giving the size of the matting you used as well?

Here's the measurements for what I ordered:

Keep in mind that I thought the litho was 39 1/2" x 22".  I was even allowing an extra 1/16" on each measurement so the edges wouldn't get smashed just in case the edges weren't cut evenly.  I ordered the frame first and then ordered the mat boards to make up the difference once I figured out the lithograph was smaller than advertised.

The Frame:

1 x Frames () = $77.84
Size 39 9/16 X 22 1/16
Cover U/V Non-Glare Protective
Backing Acid Free Foamcore
Color Satin Black Profile F

The Mat Boards:

1 Custom Mat Board - $12.06
Type: Black Core
Color: Smooth Black
Outside Dimensions: 39 9/16" x 22 1/16"
Inside Dimensions: 37 1/2" x 20"
Opening Type: Rectangle
Opening Position: Centered

1 Custom Mat Board - $11.76
Type: White Core
Color: Deep Red
Outside Dimensions: 39 9/16" x 22 1/16"
Inside Dimensions: 37" x 19 1/2"
Opening Type: Rectangle
Opening Position: Centered

If I had it to do over again, I'd increase the outside dimensions to an even 40" x 23" while keeping the inside dimesions the same for the mat openings.

Also this article game me ideas for a way to mount my picture and keep it in place without using an adheasive.
http://daystarvision...atting/pg6.html

I just wanted to make sure that no tape ever touched the litho and that it could be easily removed if needed. I did use double stick tape to hold the mat boards together, but once you get everything assembled and in the frame, the backing springs keep them in place.

There's probably better ways to do what I did, but I was making it up as I went. I hope this helps those who are interested.

 Very impressive Sensei!!

Puts my amateur job nearer the top to shame!!   Its certainly worth that additional investment to get it done properly.

At least you've framed them!  I wouldn't be so quick to deride your efforts as "amateur", get a nice mount to complete the job and they'll look great.  It'll also help protect the lithograph: from what I understand it's not necessarily a good idea to have it in contact with the glass, so a mount (i.e. the coloured border thing) acts as a handy stand-off.

Make sure you get something that's definitely acid-free, and also get acid-free backing card while you're at it: most frames have hardboard backs and it contains a lot of very nasty stuff that you want to keep off your lithographs.  No damage will occur immediately or even in a year's time, but eventually they could deteriorate.  It's worth investing in a pH test pen, too: they're fairly cheap (i.e. less than a fiver) and whilst not amazingly accurate, they'll give an early warning of things that shouldn't be in contact with your artwork.

Hopefully I'm not preaching to the choir here, but for a time I was uncertain about all of this stuff so I thought I'd pass it on...

I got my custom frame the other day. I ordered it from Sue at Hollywood
Poster Frames. The frame I decided to get was the Archival frame with
Satin Black for the color. I also decided to go big and get the UV
filtered non reflective plexiglass. I wanted to mat my lithograph as
well so I got a 2" Silver Grey mat as you can see in the picture. The dimensions of my frame came out
to be 25 3/4 x 43 1/4.

Overall I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. This was my first signed mass effect lithograph so I wanted to go big and frame it.

Edit: For some reason I can't get the picture to show in the post so I'll just have to leave it as a link unless someone can help me. New to this particular forum and can't seem to figure it out.

Construction paper is, itself, acidic. The cheaper something is, the more likely it is to be acidic. The reason most paper products are acidic is that it is cheaper.

If you're dropping cash on lithographs, don't cheap out on backing paper. You can get it for much, much less than the cost of the litho itself.

Can you literally buy `backing paper?` I assume you cant just use the paper that comes with the frame. I would appreciate any advice.

Framing them both cost about 250 euros. I don't know about the frames themselves individually.
