Always 18x24. Less money and less effort

Are you doing anything to keep the artwork away from the glass?  If so what are you using?

And how much did it cost you?  I'm not looking forward to near $100 a pop for 7 frames...

Can't speak for everyone else, but the ones I use now are just super simple and cheap $10 frames you can get at Target or somewhere like that. They work pretty well too, just very reflective heh.

Ditto, I buy them from Michael's they often have sales and coupons ^_^.

My frames are very basic.

I spent around $10-15 for each of the 18 x 24 frames.

If you don't want to use the cheap plastic frames, you can get some very nice aluminium ones online for around $40-$50. Personally I think the extra cost is more than worth it. Plastic just cheapens the artwork in my opinion.

This seems about right.  I've found decent frames as low as $30, but I want good UV filtering glass and acid free backing too which bumps it to $60-70 usually.  And if you want matting too?  $100-120 all said and done.

I'm no so bothered by $60-70 each if I can get them away from the glass a bit.  I just don't want them sticking and becoming a problem in the future.

I forget exactly how it works, but a woman I know who does framing showed me a very inexpensive way to keep the print away from the glass. Basically it's just a little thing that goes between the print and the glass to keep them from touching.

Sweet zombie-Jesus, the Thane litho looks beautiful in a frame. I wasn't initially impressed by it so I didn't pick it up, but it's downright sexy. (Damn store pictures don't really do the lithos any justice.)

Yep, it looks a lot better in person. I still don't like it aesthetically, but it's very detailed and technically well done ^_^

Thanks to archive-th for the heads up (very first post in this thread), I ordered four frames from Hollywood Poster Frames. I got the archival quality frames (UV filtered plexiglass so they don't fade, acid-free foamcore to stop yellowing with age), and also chose the anti-glare plexiglass option so the reflections are greatly minimised.

Fantastic frames. I can definitely recommend them to others looking for collector grade frames at a good price (especially fellow Aussies since getting stuff framed here is ridiculously expensive, and even with the shipping costs from the US, they probably work out much, much cheaper). Four 18x24-inch archival frames with anti-glare plexiglass cost just shy of US$365 including shipping to Australia via FedEx.

They're well made, and installation was a breeze.

And now I've got two frames spare for more lithos. w00t! :D

Pics are here if anyone's interested.

I made the mistake of getting my first litho gallery framed. They did me a ridiculous discount on the first one... and now prices have gone way way up. It now costs nearly double the litho cost to get a matching frame. I got such a deep frame the first time to hide a small tear, the rest now need to match... That's what is stopping my lithograph hunting, not the market value of the lithographs :P

However, if you have the money to blow, gallery framing the lot would look great :P

Has anyone found a place that sells oversize custom cut matting? I am interested in framing three character lithos (the party I played in the game) on one large frame. The only problem (besides there not being a Shepard Litho) is I need a matt big enough with three cut outs for the lithos. :(

I just spent a ridiculous amount of money getting my Kirkwall Gate litho framed last night. 'Course I went for anti-glare UV glass and some kind of acid-free backing or something, and am having them do the work, but still it cost like 4x what it cost to have my Garrett Hawke litho framed with the same options. Pretty sure that's the last litho with non-standard dimensions I'm going to buy.

SirOccam, I use Hollywood Poster Frames for my framing. They cut their frames to any dimension and the cost only reflects its size. www.hollywoodposterframes.com

I just bought some new frames. This time I upgraded to the aluminum (?) one. They were on sale and after a 25% off coupon they cost me only $14 each :)
They are a lot sturdier and heftier than the plastic ones I previously bought. From now on I'll always buy these.
