[SFXGame.BioPlayerController]
m_bEnableStormToCover=false

Now you don't accidentally get sucked into cover by running near it.  No more accidentally sitting down for a quick rest right in front of an enemy when trying to run.

[SFXGame.SFXGameModeBase]
Bindings=( Name="Shared_Cover", Command="TryAcquireCover | OnHold 0.3 TryClimbOrMantleCover" )
Bindings=( Name="Shared_Action", Command="Exclusive Used | TryClimbOrMantleCover | OnRelease StormOff | OnHold 0.2 StormOn" )

[SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault]
Bindings=( Name="X", Command="Shared_Cover" )

X is now your 'take cover' button (like a shooter's duck/crouch key) **

While running, tap X to take cover just as if Stormtocover was true.
Hold X while moving toward cover (be near cover first) to vault over it right away.
Only break cover by using direction keys (backwards), no more accidentally standing up.
As an added bonus you can spam your cover key safely now since you won't vault unless you hold it down (and press forward), and you won't accidentally stand up after entering cover.
Space + Forward will still vault if you're already in cover.

It feels more natural since Space is still used for Storm, so vault & storm is a natural fit.

** Be sure you don't have X bound to something else in any of the Localizedbindings sections which will override using it for Cover.

I think X is default for swapping your weapons... at least on the w,a,s,d configuration.

Thanks for the settings, though. I'm going to give this a try. Too bad there's not a button to keep you from sky walking or randomly walking up the edge of containers... lol

It is, but as I failed to see the benefit of watching Shepard slowly cycle through all his weapons one after another.
Compared to opening up the command overlay and picking the weapon you want, when you want.  I got rid of it.  This is the best you'll get until direct weapon switching binds are re-implemented.

There is, its been posted a few times but just have a ghost/walk toggle bind to slip off whatever has you stuck or skied. I have mind on my downward arrow key.

Bindings=( Name="Down", Command="Ghost | OnRelease Walk" )

You can put it in [SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault] or [SFXGame.SFXGameModeBase], whatever takes your fancy.

The interact part has gotten me killed more then cover/vault. Sprinting to cover, and expect to take it, instead I pull out the omni-tool and pick up some salvage/medgel/credits while taking enemy fire and not able to do anything. Then Critical Mission.

Really hope BW makes them separate by default in ME3.

Doesn't effect me with this setup. Since my cover key has no ''exclusive used' on it, I don't accidentally use a medkit etc that's stacked on whatever cover I'm taking, I take cover.

I don't know why Shepard has to stand up from cover to open a medkit, but they do and I've died because of it.  A little ironic.

What are you guys talking about?! These aren't issues. They're challenges!

Sticking to walls when sprinting, not being able to reload or change weapons while going for cover, accidentally popping up and down like a prairie dog, and vaulting over crates unintentionally are quirks that make this game a fun test in patience.

Really guys......
