So, good choice.

Any chance of the codex being voiced?
No. No chance of that.
You get a lot right. Often your first design instincts are good. It's when you try to change your design to suit your audience that you move in the wrong direction.Mike Laidlaw wrote...

Score one for BioWare. Way to avoid a completely unnecessary waste of development resources.

[*]Sooooooo.... when do we get to see crossbow-bic footage? Because that would be way better than 95% of youtube's offering.Mike Laidlaw wrote...

Do you really have swords lying around your office? Because that would be rather awesome.
Withing 6 steps of my desk I have:So, to answer your question, yes.
- A terribly balanced but rather pretty curved chinese saber that hung on my wall all through writing Jade Empire, and managed to fall, rather catastrophically while I was on the phone during a voice-over session.
- A prop crossbow that so far has proven more than adequate at launching pens at Fernando.
- An inflatable sword staff; inflated
- An inflatable warden sword; sadly deflated by time
- A replica of the Warden's sword from the blur trailers
- And both of the letter openers that you can buy right now!
Then you should stop reading the player data. It can only muddly your introspection.Mike Laidlaw wrote...

That sure looks like encouragement to continue doing what we're doing: designing to our instincts. Very well! Thanks, Sylvius. I didn't expect you to be so supportive.

Will BioWare ever release the ME and DA codex as books? That would be a much better way to read them all.

I'd like to mention that this codex entry (Golems DLC) was one of the creepiest things in all of DA, IMO. Creepier than the plain visceral grossness of the Children, anyway.
I wonder, though-- would it have been even creepier voiced? I mean, some of the notes in Golems were voiced (Darion's notes).
Doesn't matter though, worked fine without the voice.

don't be all emo mike
*Snerk* I can't even begin to get emo. If I tried to cut myself with the swords I have lying around our office, I'd lose my whole arm.
I think i speak for the rest of us when i say we could probably forgo any gameplay footage so long as you guys post a video of you guys LARPing with those.Well.. it doesn't even have to be RP, it can totally be for real too.

That codex entry just reminded me of The Thing, with the head just coming off and running away.
The codex/artbook sounds fun, and has been talked about before. Maybe for a collector's edition at least?

It would be pretty awesome if they made the codex into a book/guide. I'd definitely buy it.

We have amassed enough info that I think we could make a pretty impressive Encylcopedia of Thedas, if they ever thought there was market enough for it. Me, I think that would be tres cool.

I just want a huge freakin' illustrated timeline of Thedas. That would rock my socks off.
