I will be giving GentHawke my own first name.

I never, ever do this in RPGs -- I normally use the defaults, or pick something that fits the setting.

A lot of people complained that the defined character of Hawke would reduce player identification with their hero -- but in my case, I'll be naming him after myself for the first time. Is this weird? Am I weird?

Or is anyone else in a similar situation? Perhaps it's because I plan to create only two characters for DA2, rather than the six I made for Origins.

I believe in the philosophy of waiting until the game comes out to make that call. But otherwise, I may name Lady Hawke after myself. If my real name wasn't often synonymous in New Jersey for "stuck up b-tch."

But I don't blame you, dude.

It's a toss-up between Mike Hawke and Yorik Hawke. I'm leaning towards Mike since that's my name out here in meatspace. Unless there's enough characters to fit "The Artist Formerly Known As" Hawke.

As for FemHawke, her name shall be ? (If I'm allowed the question mark. I like the idea of even her name being an unknown.)

Oh, I think we have the same reasons. I just happen to be named Mike as well. I personally find the "Yorik Hawke" meme a bit more funny, but name loyalty and all. Mike's represent.

Im not sure what to make of this lol....On one hand, you could be serious, in which case yes, you do...On the other hand, I cant help but think that you are one of the people who is bitter at the fact that Hawke is even going to be voiced to begin with.

TY actually I was serious...  if the game is VO I thought characters would call you by name..  and no I am not bitter about ANY of the changes to DA2 from DA:O  it all makes sense to me...

That's right. Hawke's mom loved the name Bethany so much that she named both of her daughters Bethany. She was going to name Carver Bethany, too, but Hawke's dad managed to talk her out of it.
