Marah Fayne is a name I came up with on a whim for my character in Neverwinter Nights (first computer RPG I ever played), an I've essentially kept the same name and physical description (female, red hair, green eyes) for every RPG I've played (NWN2, BG2, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mas Effect,...)

Like my name is "Acee" it would freak me out seeing "Acee Cousland", "Acee Aeducan", etc. Especially with Hawke being voice would add to the weirdness, or maybe I'm just weird IDK lol.

I feel exactly the same way. My avatar in RPGs is my creation, but I never think of him as being me. I don't want to escape into a fantasy universe to be myself: I'm me enough. For a short time, I'd rather be a tougher, more heroic person who has a cooler name: one which is appropriate to the setting.

It would be pretty silly for me to call my FemHawke "Jonathan" now would'nt it? Plus, that's what I called one of my ManWarden characters anyway...and my ManShep...

Honestly, as much as I dislike either Hawke or Garrett, why does Bioware even let people pick their first name? I mean if they just said it is Garrett/Marion, period. What is the point of choosing a first name that probably never gets a mention past character creation screen? I for one would prefer if my name was Garrett and it gets mentioned a couple of times instead of always being adressed as Hawke even when 3 other Hawkes are around. You don't need a first name anyway, it is completely irrelevant.
