I shall take pity upon thee.  Morrigan is straight and Leliana is bi.  As a male, you can sleep with both of them, and yes there are cutscenes.  Just keeping edging that approval up.

Do they let you control the characters during the sex scene ???  then it could be like you are really there ?Posted Image

DAO blows both Mass Effect games out of the water in terms of depth, IMO, but ME1 wins by a mile for the actual love scene. Actually I think I'd even put ME2 slightly ahead of DAO in that regard, even though it was pretty ridiculous in its own right. The frottage was inane, but the scripting/choreography/atmosphere was better.

A must see movie, as is Life of Brian.

Personally I love Kaidan the most. Alistair is way too whiny, and unless you're a human noble he dumps you. I mean, lame. Zevran is alright, if short and a little annoying at times. Kaidan is definitely the best looking and has the best personality. (and oh, that cute little pompadour!)

Umm, no.

I love when people keep telling this. You only can have your princess rainbow happy bunny ending with Alistair when you are a HNF. He hates all other origin, in fact. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Been there, done that. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

You know that there are a couple of ways to work around that problem, right? Cuz wondrously all of my elves and mages that have romanced him were very very happy riding off in the sunset in the end with him. But well those things happen if you don't take your time this game indeed needs. I also don't see the whininess (Same goes for Kaidan) but have it your way*shrug*

That being said, I do love ma Kaidan, the romance of FemShep and him is quite endearing in ME1. <3 As for ME2 I found all LI's eerily yucky or too batsh*t insane for my taste, so no achievement for me and only Kaidan photo-staring for my FemShep. (Which I found btw much more beautiful than any of those crappy let's get it on scenes *shudder*)

So if I have to choose between those two games, DA wins easily what concerns character development and writing. Never had more interesting, well-written, deep characters in a game as in DA. As well what concerns the depth of the romantic subplot and lines. Hands down. (Honestly, I wonder if D. Gaider cringed like I did at the crappy Jacob romance subplot, ugh  I mean did anyone find that appealing?)

Yet ME has the advantage that the romance goes over the whole series and that you'll be reunited with your LI in part 3. I can't wait to meet Kaidan again with my Femshep.

I did the Garrus romance in ME2 once out of curiosity and thought it was pure comedy gold, but not worth pursuing again. Jacob and Thane held no appeal for me at all, and while I thought Jacob was an interesting character, I don't think the storylines for him were pretty lacking.

At first I thought the loyalty mission for Jacob was just stupid, but after remembering who Hugo Gernsback was, it's kind of appropriate. Still pretty meh though.

Kaidan was interesting, but I enjoyed the Alistair romance and relationship far more. If only because it seems like there was a lot more work put into his character. And you saw the relationship slowly develop.

Or I might just be bitter after Kaidan's treatment of my FemShep on Horizon. ;)

Horizon. Oh yeah that.

I found it actually very much appropriate how Kaidan reacted. It was realistic and fitting to his character. Sure I was pissed too at first but after a while I came to understand him. In such a situation you can react pretty much pissed and bitter, it's only human. I like that he is flawed as a character, this is what I love on Alistair as well.

It makes them more realistic and palpable, because they evoke reactions and emotions from the player, which a "perfect" character would have NEVER been able to.

Oh yeah, they were very human reactions. I liked that. I just wanted to be able to reply to Kaidan's email with "What part of I spent 2 years as meat on a slab don't you get?" ;)

Yeah, I missed the chance to explain myself properly to him in the game. Though how do you explain something like that properly, exactly? It's not a topic you can discuss in five minutes and then make up with a kiss and be happy for the rest of your life again. I indeed hope that we get the chance to do that in a more appropriate way in Part 3,  with a fitting (character) development.

Oh well, DA really spoilt me what concerns that, heh. :P

Jacob was not my cup of tea, but I was definitely excited about the prospect of having a romance with Garrus. (which was hilarious - so awkward!) Thane was pretty interesting - very intense character.

My ME/Shepard heart still belongs to Kaidan. I might try the other romance endings after I beat ME3.

About Alistair: when I had my relationship with him I didn't know about the whole "hardening" thing. About half-way through my second run-through of the game I started checking the wiki info about the characters, which made a difference in the way I played.
I'll re-try a relationship with my mage and Alistair.

Properly, hm, not sure if there is a proper way of saying it. Much less in 5 minutes. I have a feeling the LI from ME1 will continue on in ME3 if the loading screens in ME2 are any indication.

DA romances are obviously much better developed. The ME romances aren't bad, though, and at least the characters take their undies off to party.

ME2 is very cut down. However, I preferred the romance options for a female Shepard to those for a Warden. I'm sorry to all Alistairians but he just doesn't do anything for me, and I prefer Zevran as a gay romance for my male wardens.

On the other hand, I really squee over Garrus. I like that he's a real (but slightly flawed) badass, but he's also sufficiently nervous about the romance that he becomes completely adorable. He's very human, actually. (But unfortunatley there are not a lot of dialogue options...calibrations...grrrr).

I like Tali and Jack for a male Shep too.

I am not at all keen on Jacob - he's the only romance I never even tried. And I usually try everything once. Keep your prize, dude.

So which game do you think has the better romance story???

For me i think Dragon age did a better job in character development. You actually get to know your romance partner better throughout the game.

However, i think the characters in Mass effect did a better job expressing their emotions to my main character. The dialogues on board the Normandy is just excellent. You can tell if your partner is either nervous, desperate, eager or afraid, and bioware did a good job making it realistic and amusing.

As for the "steamy bits"...well there really isn't a contest here. Mass effect wins hands down =P

Well after one more playthrough of ME1 and ME2, i gotta say i was wrong.
Dragon age really does blow ME outta the water in terms of romance......
After Morrigan said her final goodbye, my heart actually ached in pain. I swore on my warden's life that i would go find her, and i was one of the people who kept refreshing the DLC page that day to see whether the Witch Hunt DLC is up or not.
When Me and Liara got seperated from the Normandy, i felt no sense of urgency. I didn't even bother buying the Shadow broker b/c. I actually wanted to go find Garren more than her b/c he's such a badass. To me, Liara is just a good looking blue alien. The bond  between Liara and my Male Shepard didn't develop deep enough during the entire storyline.

It's a shame we can't romance Tali in ME though, she kinda reminds me of Leliana. Tough but has a innocent and cute side also. Looking foward to create a new Shepard so i can romance her again. IMO the voice acting for Tali is one of the best in the ME series.

In general, i think romances between Morrigan and Alistair are the best ever...so i guess that's 2-0 in favor of Dragon age :P

I would be tempted to say DA hands-down.

DA has very good and in-depth character development. Relationships carry on and you can converse whether or not you are romancing the character in question. Basically, the dialogue possibilities beats ME (and by this I mean ME1 and ME2)without a doubt. There are gut wrenching moments in DA which really tug at your heart. ME...not so much. There's not a lot of leeway in ME as to the way relationships develop, coupled with the restricted dialogue sort of limits character interaction so the romances are less heartfelt.

However, after LotSB and if you had romanced Liara from ME1 and stayed faithful to her, the exchanges there, I feel, are certainly amongst the best DA has to offer. The romances in ME2 to me felt somewhat 'predictable' in some sense, and somewhat forced. Actually, in a sense this could be said of ME in general because you know the love scene occurs before the point of no return and this makes it forced for me; this isn't true of DA...well, not unless you've romanced Morrigan and do the Dark Ritual, as the relationship needs to develop as the dialogue is more intricate.

Given that DA is sort of complete now after Witch Hunt, and ME's story is still to be completed, perhaps it's too early to judge what happens with the relationships of those who stayed faithful to their ME1 partners. As it stands only Liara's romance, and after LotSB, is comparable to those found in DA.

Just my opinion.

DA:O romances were much deeper than the ME romances. Nothing against Kaidan (my canon femShep is still waiting for him), but Zevran's and even Alistair's romances felt much more "real." Zev's romance is by far my favorite - he is afraid of his emotions without being weak as a person and it takes so long to get to know him. His second offer of the earring (after he works through his feelings when you turn it down if it is not a "token of affection") is so sweet and so honest, even though he can't bring himself to openly say he is in love.
