My opinion is Bungie has been recycling Halo 1 over and over again and no Halo game since Halo 1 has been worth $60

This^

I bought an Xbox and Halos one and two because I was told how awesome they were. The story was barely existent (you have to read the expanded material to get any) and the gameplay was like any other FPS, with the only unique feature being that you could only carry two weapons at once.

Adriano87 is overrated.

I completed Reach at 5am on Thursday morning and it was fantastic. Completely worth the complete lack of sleep.

Mediocre FPS that only gained notoriety because of the lack of FPS games on the Xbox.

More or less.
Halo is the ultimate casual FPS and is primarily responsible for the dumbing down of FPS/RPG as well as FPS in general.

Yet you liked it enough to buy it and its sequel Rubbish. Or did your Halo hate really begin when it stopped coming out on PC too? Inferiority complex kicking in again? Poor Rubbish.

I only bought halo. Halo 2 runs off a disk on the pc. Even then if the game was worth buying, I wouldn't as Microsoft attempted to force users to use Vista. About buying games, I have bought Halflife four times and Halflife 2 twice, due to being a much better game actually deserving of praise beyond showing how to dumb down  controls to get a game to work on a pad. Outside of that, Halo is just another shooter.

Halo: Reach earned 200 million in a single day. They must be doing something right. FPS are meant to be pure action games. Don't like it, don't play. Simple huh?

Oh and Half - Life is just another shooter.  Don't BS us with your obvious bias.

How many times have you bought LOTR? Because how many times you buy the same thing over and over again is clearly the mark of quality.

Yet again though I find myself asking why your in a thread if you don't like Halo? Does it really make you feel so inferior that you have to come and champion pc gaming again? Because it really shouldn't thats just sad and laughably pathetic.

Theatre version and extended.
Some of the extended scenes drag on abit and mess up the pacing, however the theatre version makes Return Of The King a far better mvoie as alot of mini-story arcs like gothmog are cut out. In the Rohan charge we are to just presume he is dead.

Halflife was the first shooter to implement extensive use of scripted sequences as a means of story telling without cut-scenes. It also unified platforming, logical puzzle solving and player chioce as well as linear non-linear level design. Some games used these elements before, but not a single one of them were combined or done so in a way close to Halflife. Before Halflife, first person shooters were simple the act of shooting monters in brown corridors and collecting keys with little to no narrative. Assuming you were old enough to play it at the time, you would understand this. Halflife still influences games to this day.

Example...

www.youtube.com/watch

it also popularized modding to new heights well beyond what games had before. To this day people are still playing Team Fortress, Counterstrike, Day Of Defeat and other goodies. All in all, Valve are the best still to this day. And about the only major  company who realize pc gaming is superior, for winners. The rest have more or less sold there souls to consoles, and are very bad. World class developer.

Hey Druss, any idea what rank you have to be to unlock the Mk.VI helmet? I can't even preview it yet and it's not on the wiki.

I bought Reach today and I'm a few hours in. I have to say, I like it more than I was expecting to. I'm not really sure what possessed me to buy it, as I generally dislike first person shooters. But I did and good times have ensued.

With that correlation, it dumbed down carousel rides, airline fares, media coverage on hippies and waste management.

OP, you should've added to the title 'No Crying', unless of course that was your MO.

I thought criticism was discussion. If not, then perhaps the title should be changed to indicate that only those who enjoyed the Halo franchise should comment.

Generally, "crying" usually consists of resorting to making personal attacks towards users who have an excellent opinion which I suppose would also include using out of context arguments in order to attempt to belittle ones excellent opinion.  It's also a major sign of insecurity as well as irony so large, it contains more than a box of several special K.

I love your fairytales. So whimsical. I think; Unicorns and Lucky Charms.

But no, the "crying" I was refering to was the sort better associated with spam, not personal insults. Image IPB

EDIT: I'm about halfway through the Legendary campaign solo. Definately harder than the others. Seems like there's alot less ammo this time around.

@B3ta: You might be better off solo.

There are much more enemies when you play co-op.

@Rubbish: Hey, you remembered how to speak English!

Cool.

Meh. The Halo series is fun and that's where it ends. I've got the three main games, played through the single player once and never bothered again. Saw some part of Reach on GT's Hour One and it looks like fun too. But just like with the other games of the series, I'll wait a couple of years before even bothering to buy it.
