Unless he got a different demo (which it sounds like he did not), then you could not customize.

Out of curiosity, which class did you play?
only male warrior was available.
Funny thing: you could VERY LIGHTLY customize character in the demo. You could add tattoo, change skin tone and make skin look different. Oh but tattoos were a bit bugged. Instead of some nice elegant painting, you got huge text over Hawkes face "BAD TEXTURE"
Huh, well I'm sure they'll fix that.
Thanks

Camera distance/tactical/etc control was disabled on all demo builds of DA2. We're still futzing with it.
If I may suggest one personal preference. Part of what I liked about the tactical overhead combat view, was when in that mode, if I switched to another character, the camera stayed put, it didn't zoom across the map to where the newly chosen character was standing. More often than not, I want that newlly chosen character to do something in the location I am at, not zoom the camera 70 meters back to a location where my mage is stuck around a corner shooting his staff in an endless loop of *blocked* messages.
Regardless of how far you end up being able to pull the camera back, would it be possible for the camera to stay put when you are zoomed full out into whatever we end up with as tactical mode. Or like in other games, hitting f3 to choose character 3 chooses teh character, tapping f3 quickly twice triggers moving the camera to that character.
Maybe I'm the only one that cares about this feature, just suggesting it.

I actually leveled up and could assign few points there.
Oh so thats another new thing, next to the screen where you assign points, there is table with all the effects from attributes like attack, critical, defense and all that stuff, so its easier to manipulate the outcome.

So they are using graphical aids to illustrate effects? Sounds good.

so, how did it feel like playing as a warrior?
Did you play 2 handed weapon or Sword and Shield?
Were there any cool new moves you were able to use in the demo?
And, were you able to get a look at some of the warrior talents in the level up screen?
thanks.

That is awesome. I can't count the number of times i had to make a saved game named "before leveling", put in a bunch of level up stats, see that they didn't raise my defense like I wanted and reload to try a better expenditure of points and talents.

nah I think I said it wrong. You have in first half option to add/take away the attribute points. In the second part, you see all the stats like crit, def etc. But theres nothing like graph or something.

FO3? ME? I don't get you. It sounds lot like what you have in most RPGs and MMOs: a direct correlation between your assigned points and the effect they have on your character's abilities. Something that wasn't detailed enough in DAO, imo.

I played 2h warrior. I had 1h weapon and shield in inventory but it was somehow bugged so I couldnt switch.
Skills I had were: Mighty Blow, Charge, and in "uber part" Whirlwind, Stun and something, I think Taunt it was.
So far regular stuff, but Charge is full of win

It's the joke that DA2 is simply Mass Effect with swords.

Today on Comics Salon here in Bratislava, we had exclusive () alpha demo available, the one from Games Con I believe.
Are you kidding me? Beside me you are probably the only user on forum which is from Bratislava and I find out NOW that there was an alpha demo for DA2 and that only reason why I wasn´t there was extra time in work I took voluntarily? Will there be demo tommorow as well?

I liked your suggestion.
And I think they could remove the ability to zoom trough the mouse wheel and just use a 2 camera modes, the actual one and the tactical view. Bind the switch mode to a hot key like "C" and there you have it, "Push a button and something awesome happens":wizard:

You should probably ask if can only carry one health poultices a slot as opposed to 99X in each one that we can exploitative gulped due to a cool down that cools down far too fast and the ability to easily purchase an almost unlimited amount of crafting crap due to how cheap the ingredients are as well as how easy it is too progress in herbal.

One gameplay question. I'm not sure what you fought, all regular humanoid sized critters? The most frustrating part of DA, especially the expansion was the overpower/knockdown abilities enemies had. If you didn't have one of the two skills in the game, you spent most of your time on your butt vs many enemy types.
I fought regular darkspawn (demo was set in time when Hawke with his sister, brother and mother was running from loethering and met Flemeth) and two Ogres. Game difficultity was set very low, ogre went down quickly and darkspawn had no abilities except autoattack.

what did Charge look like? Is it a slow move or fast move?
Did it feel like Hawke was charging at the enemy in "superspeed" and attacking with his sword?
