Brockololly, Sylvius, thanks for helping me understand how you play the game.

*tips hat* No problem........

.....
Or is Seb's comment  merely a thinly veiled sarcastic remark with my initial response showing how I've misinterpreted Seb's intent thus illustrating the necessity of using  paraphrased blurbs and intent icons?

Nope. I was genuinely puzzled, and now I understand a little more. Thanks!

I agree with your player vo and detachment statement 1000 times over.

Same with me as well, for whatever it's worth.

Jacob Taylor romance - the ultimate argument against the voiced protagonist.

QFT. It just went so horribly, horribly wrong.

Which is apparently -NaN
For all of us in the same boat. Ah well.

As to the Jacob romance, it wasn't Jacob, he is a nice guy and one of the only romance options I can ever remember who asked do *I* have any worries/gripes/problems that I can recall.

It was femshep voice acting that bothered me to the point I will never talk to Jacob again. Ooze over to the table and *pose* and what came out of her mouth when I was just trying to get to know a teammate...well no, just no. In fact I think I quit playing at that point...that's how jarring it was.

Yes, my god that was terrible. But its exactly like you said- if you're trying to RP a character a certain way, all it takes is one horribly off moment like sexual predator FemShep to rip you out of the game. Whereas with the silent PC, while a companion may respond differently or unexpectedly, its never because of bad voice acting on the player's part.

This.

Maybe we're just being risk-averse, but this is one way in which an unvoiced protagonist cannot go wrong.

But we have very clear evidence of a voice protagonist going very wrong.
