Which would mean all the Reapers can be turned into our cause = A happyhappyfunfun ending.

That sounds like the thing that will ruin ME3. I didn't even think about that possibility but now it sounds like a real option. I could see Geth doing it as they weren't a real enemy in ME2 anymore

I'd like if Reapers had an actual reason to do what they're doing instead of just "We're evil durr!", but this either just enforces the image (There's an evil gang of harvesters) or it would mean the aggressive Reapers are some sort of tragic enemies I should actually spare - both would be awful choices. I rather take the "We're machines and can't help it" as plain and simple it is

...Or Reapers are just tools of the REAL enemy...lulz

well I genuinely hope the storyline goes beyond a 13 year old's kids cartoon. where we find the "real" enemies, and "why" they're attacking us, not just fighting the fact they just don't like us - being evil just because it's "good" to be evil. Sort of like Saren, and Sasuke going rogue - (don't know the full story on Saren yet, I just started on ME1) - and their craze for power. or even Vegeta, or Frieza in their quest for immortality - turns out their motives were about as primitive as pride.

Im just saying, Bioware throw a wrench into people's brains. Break our ****. People need to be "liek waht deh f88k" the whole damn game, but gradually bring the story to an end so people have some closure after the fact. ;)

Guess so... still, it'll be fun to see it happen. Like an unfinished "failure" Reaper abandoned by the rest.

you need 100,000 paragon point to persuade vanguard reaper from getting the rest of them. yeah, I say 'vanguard reaper'. it is only reaper which is always waken, search for massive organic to be extinct.

Though this kind of plot twist is highly unlikely and probably won't happen in ME3, I have to admit that it would be a major "WTF?!" moment to catch people off guard in ME3. Wouldn't mind seeing it happen. I love those kinds of moments. :P

yeah but it'd be uber cliche.

No thanks. I see the reapers as being like a force of nature... They're not good of evil, it's simply what they do.

Please no. This'd be one step away from having Wesley Crusher as a teammate.

Actually instead of a good Reaper I'd rather have all the available galatic fleets fight off the Reapers so hard with such an effort that the Reapers relent purely out of curiousity to see how another 50,000 years of autonomy will allow them to develop.

If this happens it will ruin the entire ME trilogy. Reapers are, for all intents and purposes, machines. yes, I know they are organic but they are more machine than anything. They do not need to eat, or need air, etc. They are machines who let civilization advance and then destroy it for what simply seems like sport. If BW includes a "good" Reaper that helps you I probably wouldn't even finish the game because it wouldn't be worth it.

If one lone good Reaper can stop all the others, then what the hell have I spent two games recruiting allies for? What did Kaidan, Grunt, and Mordin die for? Nothing when we could have just kicked back, relaxed, and let this one Reaper handle everything. Let's hope this is one idea BW does not even consider.

My attempt to understand this theory, correct me if i'm wrong.
(simplified) This is the Reapers way of solving the Dark matter problem that ultimately ended their universe, by adding the choosen civilisation (in this case humanity) to their collective, to replace the reapers that die. giving them more time, and increasing their chances of solving the problem??

EDIT: Having read through most of that thread I still prefer to see the Reapers how I saw them before.. As an ancient race of machines, who use a form of natural selection. Choosing which are worthy of becoming Reapers, which should become tools and the rest completely wiped out.

No. The Reapers are basically space cthulus. You make one good, they lose the eldritch mystique.

Please, write not in this thread, about this theory.
You are not exactly as you write.

They can not change the destiny of their galaxies, (not in the universal scale - error, omissions author)

My understanding of this theory. Preservation of decent races.

Remember the words of Sovereign: "Each of us is a nation" and the words of Harbinger: "That which you know as Reapers are your salvation through destruction."

Isn't the cycle of extinction simply the Reaper's way of reproduction? All life must reproduce, and this is what drives the Reapers. I think it's a simple and elegant reason

I was actually thinking earlier, we should be able to get a Reaper ship in part 3. Fight fire with fire right? How awesome would that be? Like Edi accept your in the ship talking to it, not a ai

No, and given the opportunity I would nuke it to hell as any attempt at diplomacy is a clearly a trap on their part.

Have you forgotten the part about how Reapers indoctrinate people and force them to carry out their plans?  This would not work.

So cliche lmao. Itll even do moment of silence thing. The Reaper stops following Shepard and then explains why it turned.

No offense....... BUT ARE YOU FRACKING INSANE! :P Joking, but I don't think so. If any enemy defects to the Shepard side it should be Batarians :D.

wouldn't be the first cliche moment lol.  Shep and reaper get divorced and everything splits down the middle. Shepard will get the kids once every other weekend
