New to all this modding/editing stuff. I learned how to edit the name of my character and her appearance via the Gibbed Editor but I want to change the career name to my character's in-game name. For example, in-game my char is called Jane, but the career (the screen where you pick a career to load) is called Miranda Shephard, how can I change it to Jane? I tried just changing the folder name using Windows Explorer but that didn't work.

The name changes should occur the next time you fire up the game. Yes, the name doesn't change instantly after editing it via Gibbed's Save Editor, but it should change nonetheless. Give it one or two boot-ups and it should display the correct name for selecting the career.

Career name is taken from the latest auto save I think. Or it could be the chapter save. Visiting a new planet (or revisiting an old one) should be enough for the career name to update.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this question is still open for me.
The save file modded fine. It plays fine. The new name is working. When I go to load a game, it uses the correct name. But, when I go to change careers, the career still uses the original name.
Any ideas?

Just continue playing until you reach an autosave point (e.g. go to your Cabin on the Normandy), then the name on the character selection screen will be displayed correctly.

Been there, done that. In fact, I completed the game (several loyalty missions, etc.)
Again.. it's the "Blah Blah Solder 022310" career name shown when you want to select which career. When I actually select a career and it goes to let me select the save game, it shows the correct name.
