I've had the same copy of Mass Effect 2 since it came out. I played through it all the way through once with no issues at all. The second playthrough I got halfway through and stopped because I triggered the Collector abduction thing on the Normandy without doing my loyalty missions. I took a break for about a month and then decided to restart my game so I could play the new Shadow Broker DLC.
It played through smoothly until I tried the Overlord DLC where I started to randomly get disc read errors. It's only happened a few times during the actual game but most of the time on the loading screen. I was persistant and kept loading the game until it let me play through without and error however this happened about every few minutes. (Yes, I did play through the whole DLC restarting the game every five minutes - . -)
After that it just kept on happening all of the time. Sometimes it will disc read error every minute and sometimes it'll let me play for a while. I did the whole Horizon mission without any issues. I even went out to get a used 360 console today, thinking it was the Xbox causing the problem. However, the disc read errors happened even more frequently. (I'm turning it back in tomorrow).
I've done everything in desperation. I've cleared the cache, I've downloaded the disc to the hard drive (which made the disc read errors much MORE frequent. The game is now unplayable). The disc is absolutely clean and has no scatches.
This is all on disc one, by the way, however I popped in disc 2 out of curiousity and it does the same thing. No other games have done this except Gears of War occasionally but it's still playable.
I'm suspecting it may be the DLC. I'm going to delete and redownload all of it tomorrow. I really don't want to have to buy a new game since they're in great condition and there's no way both discs could have this issue.
Any other input or suggestions? Any methods that worked? I've tried just about everything. I've even signed on to the forums just to get some answers. Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to be as detailed as possible. Thanks so much. :)

Hey I get the same error I think. It happens when I try to start Kasumi's mission, a message appears saying my disc is unreadable but the disc looks fine. I'm really annoyed since I just bought downloadble content and now cannot play it.

Yeah, I just DL'ed the new content and now every DLC is corrupted. I deleted it all and re-downloaded everything tonight, it took 8 hours for me to get back everything and It did it to me again! I do not want to go through the same BS of 8 or more hours redoing what I just did tonight, again. It looks like I might have to, but I am unsure when, because I hope Bioware can fix this problem.

They HAVE to fix this, I'm stuck with the exact same problem too and I re-downloaded it too and it was even worse. I want to play this!

I was briefly play the game this morning, before work. It was still bugging out, then I turned off my 360 (I had just re-downloaded what was considered missing without deleting the old ones) and tried once more. Amazingly enough, I was able to play the game (I haven't played it since Overlord DLC came out) and I only started the first part of Shadow Broker by going to Illium. I saved it there, turned off my 360 and went to work.

Now, (Internet unplugged) I tried it, and it says everything is corrupted and Firewalker, Overlord, Kasumi, and Shadow Broker are all missing. I plugged up my internet and went back on Live and guess what? There's no mention of Corrupted DLC Data at all, but those 4 DLC is still missing.

I'm going to do another try or two at re-DL'ing those 4 w/o deleting them, because I really don't want to wait 8 hours or more to download them from scratch. (I have Satillite Connection, Cable Connection doesn't run to my house, still better than Dial-up.)

I'll re-edit my post when I've finally gotten to play the game or these errors have made me just given up on trying.

EDIT: I've tried like 5 times after what I had previously stated. It would pop up and say either two or all of the said-previous DLC was still missing, but the Content box was in the extras and it would not let me click on it to re-DL them. The final try let me, but for some reason only shown DLC from the beginning to before the Kasumi DLC. I'm just going to grow grey hairs with this thing, if I keep trying and trying with no avail. I hope Bioware/EA fixes this, or I can not play this game of their. And what if it effects my transition to ME3? Then I am screwed completely.

New Update: I had a wonderful chat with the tech support at EA. Lucas (tech supporter) tried everything with me. Setting the clock back to 2005 to clearing my cache to him asking me to delete everything to re do it again (which I told him I had already done previous). He couldn't help me, so he is sending my problem to upper management to look into my situation. He claimed this to never happen before.

Maybe he's right or maybe it's only happened a few times before in the past.

Hey, guys thanks for the input. it's a real shame this is happening to many people. I've fixed the problem but it was rather expensive. I blew my whole paycheck on the new 360 elite slim. XD Over time I've gotten the disc read error with many more of my games after my Mass Effect issue. I've had no problems with anything after buying the new console. It's horrible that I had to resort to this, but the new console is pretty sexy so I'm not complaining. :P
@Lasteffect - I hope your issue is resolved soon. I've heard so many issues happening with this game with the older 360 console.

Don't worry comrades, this issue is not only apparent here but in other DLCs as well. I just got it for the Vietnam expansion which is a 1.64GB download!! Never had a chance to play it! Assassin's Creed II's DLC is corrupted as well. Though I had better luck with that one going through.

I faced the same issue for a while, even tried with two different mass effect 2 - and eventually started deleting and re-installing dlcs until i noticed one took forever : PACK 1 alternative clothes for Garrus, Jack and Thane. That out my system, the game once again played smoothly. People, try this out. Hope it helps

TRy this and see if it helps. Try downloading dlc directly from xbox live site. That should provide you with glitch free dlc.

It happened to me yesterday. The In-Dashboard offers gave me Overlord for 200MS Points. And since it was the only DLC I didn't have (apart from Alternate Appearance Pack), I decided to buy it.

I turned on ME2, and it loaded with a really weird start up screen. It was all red and orange. I figured BioWare must've updated it. I hadn't played ME2 in a while.

But then it said "Lair of the Shadow Broker", "Firepower Pack" and "Overlord" have errors. Please redownload them. After realising how long Overlord just took to download, I couldn't be bothered. I just restarted my xbox and everything was fine. I haven't played since but I'm hoping it won't happen again.
