From what I've read, even if you are allergic to the ink, all it does to you is leave a rash that can be easily treated, but I may be wrong. And the chances of you being allergic to it are very slim, if at all. My future sister-in-law is allergic to practically everything (no joke), and she has two or three tats of all different sizes and colors.
im alergic to specific soaps and laudry detergent sadly. i mean id go get some form of test done but i cant really afford it right now. but if i had to show wich tattoo i want id want this on my whole back

I don't have any, but its not because I don't want one. I just don't know what I'd get...
If your ever going to get a tattoo and you don't really know what to get. Always go symbolic and think really hard about it. These days you can get your tat removed, but its really expensive. I got something small and I made sure it was in a place that doesn't matter like the back of my neck. I'm really bad at math, but I respect it, because we wouldn't have the technology we have today so I got the greek symbol of infinity.

This is pretty much my tat. If I ever have children in the future I'm going to have their names like Joey's tat put on my me. I'll have my kids names circling the tat you see above you.

So there was this navy guy my father new who got a beautiful tattoo on his chest of a Man-of-war vessel with brilliant colors. Then, as the guy was sleeping, his wife got OCD or something and started picking at the scab that had formed over his chest. The end result was half a tattoo produced in brilliant colors.
Yea, if your tattoo gets scabs you shouldn't pick them until they are ready to fall off on their own lol. None of mine ever developed scabs, but my fiance's new ones did and she couldn't help but scratch and pick at them. She regrets it now lol
@marbotico: That'd be a good one to start with, especially if you get it about that size or smaller. What symbol is that, btw? I don't think I recognize it.

One thing I've thought about, and this is the closest I've ever come to deciding on a design, is the Torment symbol from Planescape: Torment.
For those of you with poor memories, or poor Google-fu:

I think about change a lot. The things I've experience that have shaped and changed me, and what is yet to come. I think about what kind of changes I could make to improve my lot in life and achieve true happiness.*
*I'm not clinically depressed. My life is pretty darn good right now. Nothing's perfect, and I'm always trying to improve on this. This post sounds more moody and brooding than I typically get in real life.

if you really want to scare people, you need one red and one white contact lense.thepiebaker wrote...
i'm thinking, just to scare people, to get 999 on my forehead... 999 = 666 upside down and the mark of the devil is always upsidedown. lol.

my next tat(s) will be either on the left side or right side of my rib cage spanning from just under my arm pit, down my pelvis, and halfway down either thigh. i plan on having it done in black and grey scale. yes, i am aware of how much it'll hurt. my ribcage is awful sensitive to the touch. especially after busting two ribs on my right and one on my left in a motorcycle accident in 2002. they never properly healed. it'll be something related to either persian, norse, or egyptian mythology. i haven't decided on what exactly it'll be. i need to think long and hard before setting up the appointment(s), laying down the design(s), and then having them/it done.
Yea, its always good to lay out a 'battle play', so to speak lol. I thought about my second tat A LOT before I got it done. My third tat was already in my head, but took me a while to get the design right. The part that took the longest was getting the coloring to look the way I wanted.
EDIT: One thing you want to be aware of (I found out during my last tat) is if the place you are going to has more than one person doing the tats with the same guns being used (say 3-4 guns being used by 2-3 different people working as a team in the same shop) is the settings on the gun itself. The same guy did my last two tats in two sessions and in between the sessions his partner had used the gun on a different setting (different settings for different skin types). The previous setting was meant for a guy who basically had leather for skin. It was set really deep and the guy basically dug me out in the beginning. Hurt like hell! It was set on 3/8 of an inch. It only needed to be on 1/8th or 1/4 for me lol.

there is only one tattoo shop i trust. it's dos changos locos in modesto, california. the shop owner also teaches english at a high school in the same city. the shop is real laid back and doesn't give off a thug or meathead vibe. it's also very, extremely well kept and clean. they know how my skin is.
the one who did my chest piece didn't dig deep into my skin at all. actually, the hours leading up to the two hour break went over quite well. it wasn't hurting as much as i thought it would. it's been almost 2 years since i've had the pheonix piece done. it still hasn't faded.
