It's clear some posters are trying to convince themselves not to buy DA2. Accept the fact it may not fit your "perfect" vision of a RPG. We are only five months from release. BioWare won't scrap production just because.

It might prove that the response was written assuming a particular delivery of the previous line, but it says nothing at all about what the previous line actually said.JrayM16 wrote...
The point I was trying to make is that the reaction provides enough information to prove that there is a predetermined statement.
I don't understand why you (and others) are making a connection that just isn't there. You're jumping to an unfounded conclusion.
That's circular. For that context to be useful we would first have to accept that we know the delivery of all the previous lines, and that that delivery is relevant to the responses.I won't contest that it's not available to the player and therefore the picture is not complete beforehand.
But we're forgetting the context of the conversation as it occurrs before a choice pops up, which often tell us everything we need to know about a statement.

Now you're using corner cases.
The idea of their being a "line of dialogue" that isn't heard or determinable is moot since we have the tone and the option on the screen. Just apply the tone to the option and you get what might as well be the response.
Now, to skip to what your argument to that will undoubtadly be.
You will likely say that this doesn't matter since the player doesn't get the tonal info in the first place. You're right, but my argument, I beleive, sufficiently proves the existance of a clear, intended line by the developers.
