Customizable, ala Forza cars??

Or, it should be a symbol that depends on our allegiance. If we side with Cerberus at the end of ME2, it should remain a Cerberus logo. If not, it should return to the Alliance, or the Council, and something special if we are Spectres.

Call me crazy but I liked the elevators more than the loading screens. *shrug*

Bioware's reasoning behind the elevator/airlock removal sequences simply puzzles me.

They were used to mask loading screens but people complained they were too long.  Well, they were as long as it takes to load whatever you were loading...

...so how is staring at a bunch of flash graphics any better than elevators and airlocks?  At least in ME1 there were newscasts and squad banter.

In ME2 there was nothing.

I completely agree with this, I thought the merging of loading to the actuall game was a great touch in the first game. And the loading times should be even faster for the third one, so I see no reason as to why the elevator loading shouldnt return. (it also made specific levels feel much bigger)

A support gunship to aid the ground team when they need death from above --- or perhaps a land version like a mech of some sort with an arraignment of small and heavy arms.

( Missiles, rockets, flachette bomblets, energy beams, chain guns)

People in ME1 didn't think so, for some reason they imagined that losing out on elevators and such would mean there would never be loading screens.

No to that bloodly awful music that played aboard the SR1. It wasn't atmospheric it was repiditive and nausiating.. I prefer the ambient sound from the SR2.

Loading screens don't bother me so much... At least I don't feel like I'm on the slowest elevator in the world... seriously this is the future, we are supposed to have turbo lifts.... not some guy with a crank or a pit pony raising and lowering the thing....

Loading screens are a little break from the game....  slow ass elevators are just ...character breaking.... is there any In character reason the elevators are so slow?  Hell some dialouge to explain that the elevators are being serviced might go some way to explaining this mystery...

The fact we are in the future doesn't mean that law of physics no longer apply. Take the Citadel tower lift for example, which is many kilometres in height. To travel to the Council chambers in a few seconds as you demand in ME1, would require acceleration so large that Shepard and any other unfortunate souls in the elevator would be pressed into the floor and arrive at the top in the form of a thin paste. Gradual acceleration is required to prevent passengers aboard the lift experiencing massive G-forces as the elevator speeds to the top, and gradual deceleration would be required to bring it to a halt without the passengers being propelled into the elevator ceiling and receiving permanent reductions to their height. This gradual acceleration and deceleration means it will take time to arrive there.

Better crew quarters. I mean heck, Joker gets a leather lounge chair and the rest of the crew get one tiny space with bunk beds. Not to mention extra crew have to bunk up in engineering and in the observation deck...Where the hell does Mordin sleep? There's no bed in the lab. I'm starting to think that the Jack romance happened just so she could get a decent night's sleep in that comfy king size bed in Shepard's quarters.

If the elevator's duration is identical to the loading screen's duration... why do you care?  In either instance you'll be spending an identical amount of time doing nothing but looking at your screen, correct?

And elevators are more "character breaking" than flashy 2D graphics screens which offer no relevant info and completely remove one from the game thereby breaking immersion?

...what?

At any rate, the duration of the elevators' travel time is predicated on your PC's specs so if you want faster elevators upgrade your hardware.

If you're on an XBox quit whining; there's nothing you can do about load times.

The elevators aboard the first normandy were slow as molassas too..... that wasn't traveling huge ass distances that would reduce you to paste if you went so fast.....

And you could actually see the top floor and ground floor of the c-sec offices were not that great a distance... I therefore have to reject the theory .... had you been traveling the full length of the citadel.....sure... but 4-5 floors ??? nah, just don't buy it.

And because the guy above quoted me, then responded with an argument that failed to take into account what I actually said, I'll post it again...

Loading screens are a little break from the game....  slow ass elevators are just ...character breaking.....

Loading screens are a little break from the game = yes they take you away from the immersion of the game.
Slow ass elevators are just character breaking = they make no sense of the universe.  Yes they have been established In ME1... but they still make no frickin sense. If you are running HAL 9000 or Glados and they run as fast as normal elevators in reality, fine ..... for you.

And mister man above, I'm not "whinning" about it. I'm just entitled to express my opinion that I believe they make no sense, but thanks anyway.

My complaint wasn't about "load times".... I already stated, and you quoted it, .. that I wasn't bothered by loading screens....  it was about "slow elevators" .... there is a difference. When ya figure out what the difference is... get back to me kk?

No they don't. Slow elevators were established in ME1. It's already part of the continuity. It can no more break it than Shepard firing a gun can break the continuity now.

But on that subject, my computer loads too fast for elevators like in ME1.

I'd assume that the Cerberus logo would have to be removed for my saved game since TIM and I aren't exactly pals these days. Logos are one thing, but I'm curious about the crew. They all seemed to be on board with my choice, especially since several of them weren't fans of Cerberus to begin with, but what about the regular crew members like Kelly? I flat out took them out of their jobs. Sure, they can still be on the Normandy, but they're not with Cerberus anymore.

I think the new logo will be something that signifies that the Normandy is independent. Shepherd isn't alliance anymore, and with my choices he isn't Cerberus, and while I did accept my Specter title, they don't seem to want anything to do with me save for Anderson who simply granted the title to help in name only.

I wonder if the people that complained didn't realize that the elevators were meant to replace load screens?  I guess I'd rather see the characters talking to each other than have a big "LOADING" thing take over the screen.

I'd rather have a coffee between load segments and not have to worry about missing some vital ((or in most cases not at all vital )) piece of conversation.... but that's just me.

They managed to animate people walking around on the Citadel why not on the Normandy? and why must we always go to the NPC's to initiate dialogue? Can't we have some that's initiated randomly? Like we use the elevator and we get a cut scene were a character joins you and you chat on the elevator ride? A few little touches would make the Normandy even more exciting.

DA:O suffer from the same problem and it's always pissed me off.

Also no more Kelly telling me about my email.

Shepard : Anything thing i should know?
Kelly:You have unread msg
Shepard : Okay thanks

Shepard move 3 feet Away
Kelly : YOU HAVE UNREAD MESSAGE AT YOUR TERMINAL
Shepard : SHUUUUUUUUUUUT UPPPPPPPPPP i just read them.

Yeah, I'd like this too.  The Spectre logo is snazzy.  Besides, then we can paint the Normandy a new color.  Blue/White, like Vasir's armor, perhaps?

Also, for some reason, lately when I look at the Spectre logo, it kind of reminds me of a top-down view of the Normandy...  I really need to get more sleep.Posted Image

Also, link to building instructions for those LEGO Mass Effect sets.  Those are awesome.

We're in a vacuum you know, so hearing it might be an issue :P.

Hey! I clearly hear the Collector ships in the intro, the effect from making a warpspeedthingie jump and the all the different vessels in the end.
Plus, sound waves do travel in space. We just gotta tune in on their com channels! Foolproof! Haha.

I can see the problems that could be caused from squad members having totally free roaming aboard the ship so it could be more practical to have these characters' roaming limited to certain regions of the ship. Although on the other hand it wouldn't be hard to implement a simple dialogue mechanic for EDI allowing the player to ask where certain crew members are located. e.g.:
EDI : How can I help, Shepard?
S: I'm looking for someone.
EDI: Specify.
*List of members here*
S: Where's Garrus?
EDI: Garrus is currently in the main gun battery, tending to some calibrations.
S: Why did I even ask...

Since EDI has interactive terminals already throughout the ship, it would make locating crew in this way very easy.

I guess EDI could work, but does it really add something to the game that they roam all over the ship? It would be nice to have them move around a bit in their quarters/limited area (hell they must be bored out of their minds or just really spacesea sick). For me its all about functionality in this issue. The immersion goes out the window when something might not be functional. So the gain for me if the crew moved around the entire ship would be: immersion, but lost would be: functionality and immersion due to having to look for the people and possibly getting mildly annoyed.

Perhaps I just got the Witcher in front of my eyes (really, the amount of small flaws in that game made me squirm) and BioWare could solve it in an elegant way. They sure would know how to do it.

Ah well, I just want some psy-warfare with the enemies. Music and a BIG window so I can have my crew moon the reapers before battle.

When you are in the screen to switch between decks, it tells you what level the crew members are on. As long as they don't switch levels while you're in the elevator(cause hey, there's only one. Unless they're using the venilation shafts because they're that impatient) it should work fine to tell you where the crew is.
