Does anybody consider the Shadow Broker ME2's true final boss like I do?

. Everything's easy for a Soldier.

It's true, the only reason I died on him was because I made a damn stupid mistake of staying behind one piece of cover.
I loved it since as far as I can remember he is the first boss able to destroy  non fragilecover (Since even the Oculus couldn't destroy the crates in the normandy's hold. And on that note, who the hell takes cover behind a fragile crate?)

I loved the way the oculus could shred the normandy's new silaris armor, but i'll be damned if it can destroy this crate

Fighting him with an Adept is easy. You have two people who can put a singularity on him to stop him moving while you shoot his shield off. Why does everyone complain about how hard it is to play as a Adept on insanity. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Pretty much anything was a better fight than the joke of an end boss we were presented with at the end of the SM.

Seriously, every single named NPC that we fight throughout the entire game was more fun and engaging.

Reading between the lines of Christina's blog post; They basically had to add Stasis to the player's inventory of bonus skills in order to make the Shadow Broker fight winnable with Adepts on Insanity.

Adepts, like it or not, depend heavily on their teammates. You start the Shadow Broker fight down one teammate automatically, so they had to add something of equal combat effectiveness.

That something turned out to be Stasis.

His battle is harder then that of the Human-Reaper and I've never died in that boss, while the Shadow Broker made me reload my saves 3 times.

I don't suck, I just haven't played in a while. Image IPB

this game is honestly not that hard, hide in unbreakable cover, shoot and use powers. You shouldnt be dying at all unless its vanguard insanity, and even then deaths should be very rare

this is a cover system where couches can stop helicopter missiles Image IPB

Sooooo...... Adept is horrible according to you people? I play Adept on hardcore and it's pretty fun. Once I finished the DLC once, I reloaded an old save and finished it in insanity (for the achievement) and I did't die once. I found the SB to be easier actually.

I guess Adept isn't that popular though, and I did't know Singularity works on enemies with shields. Can anyone confirm this?

Singularity works on just about anything except FENRIS and varren, I believe. Since FENRIS and varren work pretty much the same, I'm thinking it's a coding glitch as to why Singularity doesn't work with them. Anyway, Adept can be very easy on Hardcore/Insanity, but this is assuming that 1) you're very adept (haha) at playing on those levels and 2) you're patient about the learning curve. It's very much a mage class, incredibly weak at first but extremely powerful toward the end.

or...... you can glitch and have 70 skill points to max out all powers with. Image IPB

Adept is fine.

I have played it on Insanity NG +

Has anyone stumbled across the funny glitch with the Varren on Jacks loaylty mission?

For the same reason they had to make singularity work on shielded enemies (so one might wonder why other biotic powers with arguably more kick do not).....because otherwise thanks to some stupid decisions made by the devs the adept would be utterly useless on hardcore and insanity

So we're just talking about gameplay reasons?

I actually thought the Shadow Broker was a much better boss on a cinematic and storytelling level. The human Reaper came out of nowhere and was a little silly, but the Shadow Broker felt like a true boss fight.

SB himself was challenging on insanity, but I agree with the guy who said heightened adrenalin rush + mattock = win.

I actually avoid using this combination because it's so op. They could at least have slowed the Mattock's rate of fire more!

With my soldier, he wasn't that hard mainly due to the awesomeness of adrenaline rush and the time slowdown when sprinting. I can see him being tough for an adept though since they lack the survivability that the other classes get (Adrenaline rush, Charge shield boost, Tech Armor, Cloak, Drone) (that is unless you choose barrier/fort/gsb)- the Shadow broker's revenant could put a lot of pressure on you.

Another thing I found with the DLC was how ridiculously powerful Liara was. Stasis and Singularity let you shutdown enemies and bosses. I avoided using stasis on Vasir since it made the fight too easy.

I just completed the Suicide Mission on Insanity with my renegade Adept so I'll probably play LotSB again with the renegade/adept perspective.

as an infiltrator I found the shadow broker to be way easier to kill... but at least he isn't as rediculous as the mega terminator.
