Has there been any kind of fix for installing these?
I have been trying for 2 days now and cannot for the life of me understand what to do.  I have followed ALL of the fixes on these forums and nada.
I am running Windows 7 and have an Alienware M11x.
I was able to install and play NWN2.  The trouble started when I tried to install MOtB.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times and I still get the same errors (setup file doesn't match the cab file....etc.)
Can anyone help?

Please see the Installing NWN 2 topic for installing NWN 2 and subsequent expansion packs. It steps you through the process of installing.

So when I try to patch NWN2 I get:

An incorrect version of the file was found on your system.

The update was unable to complete, since the file contents were incorrect.

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\Modules\\1200_Highcliff.mod

File Size: 457253469

File CheckSum: e9923f6b9f7c06d4896853a2a185d243

For assistance, please visit Atari's support web page.

The patch has been aborted

How can I install if the installs do not work?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

I've never installed on WIndows 7, but I've installed over 10 times on XP successfully. The installation order I have always followed is:

Install NWN2:OC

Install MoTB

Patch with autopatcher

Install SoZ

Patch with autopatcher

If you have ever used the toolset to modify (or possibly just open) an OC module then you might have inadvertently made a change that will prevent the autopatcher from working. It sounds like that has happened with your Highcliff file. You probably need to do a complete uninstall of NWN2 before reinstalling NWN2, MotB, and SoZ.

I tried every way I can to install these games, including the one you listed, none of them are working......

I have never opened the toolset, so I don't think that is the problem....and I have iuninstalled and reinstalled NWN2 about 20 times now.

If you have access to another machine I would try installing there and see if it works. If that also doesn't work then maybe you have a bad DVD, but I would think you wouldn't have gotten through the initial install if that is the case.

I don't suppose you have any other software running that could be touching files after you have installed them. If you do then turn that off and try reinstalling.

Good luck.

I have no idea what software I could be running that would touch NWN. I haven't uploaded or downloaded any other game. And the only things I have downloaded have been Firefox and updates.

I am sad now :(

I'm at a loss as to why you cannot install...

Did your turn off your anti-virus and anti malware applications during installation and updating?

How much free disk space do you have?

Are you using digital download versions or CD/DVD discs?

Are you running as administrator?
