How did you respond to Liara on how you feel about everything (worried, hopeful or frustated)?

This is by far the most important conversation regarding how Shepard feels about everything.

I chose the frustated option. I truly feel that way. The council is blind and stupid. Kaiden/Ashley lost my respect and Cerberus, well they're good for now (no problem there.... yet).

How did you respond?

I chose worried at first, and I think that's the one I like the most. Hopeful was brick-Shepard. But frustrated was another one I liked. Both worried and frustrated gave Shepard some real depth and interaction with Liara which really, really helped BioWare's standing in my opinion, after the rushed feeling of some of the other romances.

I chose "hopeful." My Shep's an immovable wall, tearing down Saren/Sovereign and now the Collectors...she thrives on it. And if people get in her way, they'll get steamrolled under. XD

I prefer to have a Shepard that feels human, not some emotionless superhero who's invincible.

I tried all three. For me, it's worried for the paragons and frustrated for the renegades. If you choose hopeful, you do exactly what Liara asked you not to do, you give her the moral speech so yeah, the two other ones give Shep much more depth IMO.

Worried. Sounded more realistic.

There's a difference between emotionless and just not being broken.  My Shepard feels human, has emotions, and is unbroken in the face of adversity.  If your Shepard is different, then good for you.   =]

John Shepard, my paragrade Soldier chose hopeful. Sure he's a bit pissed off at the Council for their inaction and at the Alliance for turning their back on him, but he keeps his mind focused on the mission and he acknowledges all the success they've had so far. He has no time for doubt (worried) or angst (frustrated), not when the bigger threat is still on the horizon.

Laura Shepard, my Paragon Vanguard chose worried. Despite her optimism, she remains realistic about their chances and knows that defeating the Reapers will be no easy task.

Frustrated. It pretty much covered everything i was pissed off about. The ignorant council, having to deal with a shady organisation that i don't trust at all and Ash being so short sighted. Really good piece of dialogue.

Worried. After keeping the crew's morale up all throughout ME2, it was good to see Shep express real doubts about how they're going to win to someone outside of it.

My Shephard chose frustrated. It went well with saying his tags didn't belong to him anymore. Those two options really made him seem more human. The thing that also added to the whole thing was he was sharing his emotions with his love interest. Everyone dumps their feelings and problems on Shephard but Liara was the only person that he could confide in.

Hopeful. With that team, and Liara's help, we can't fail.

My favourite response is easily frustrated, even with my more paragon adept 'main'

Frustrated, all day every day.

'Worried' is just plain depressing, but I feel 'frustrated' makes him seem more human and was a rare glimpse past the facade of stoicism.

On my first playthrough I chose "I'm hopeful", then I found the actual spoken line to be a bit weak and vague ("a bit rough but it's alright" ... yeah right, not for my Shepard anyway). So since I had missed a few Paragon interrupts in that playthrough I decided to play it again to get those interrupts and finally went with "I'm worried", and I loved the line itself, seemed way more in the veins of what my Shepard thinks of the upcoming (potentially) events, she's definitely not frustrated however, she understands most of the others' points of views around her, there's of course some exceptions but it ain't enough to get my Shepard frustrated, however she's certainly not hopeful, at least not the way BioWare put it.

Did you start this thread to tell people their choice was somehow wrong?  All Shepards are different.

My Renegade took frustrated because she was; she went to all the trouble of ousting the former Council only to be stonewalled by the new one. My two paragon Shepards will take Worried and Hopeful respectively.

How can anyone choose hopeful? Maybe, I am just not that optimistic. I choose "frustrated" everytime.

I chose worried, and Shepard summarized my thoughts on this game series PERFECTLY.

"I have no idea how we're gonna do this."

As of right now, we have absolutely no way to stop a fleet of AI Dreadnoughts from killing everything.

Something's gotta change.

So far worried...haven't played through with my Renegade character yet - who will be "Frustrated"..."hopeful" to me just seems ignorant and blind - regardless of when you have the conversation with Liara. Pre SM you still have to make it through the Omega 4 Relay and get back, Post SM you still have the amassing Reaper fleet to deal with - how can you be "hopeful" in either of though situations w/o being blind.

I predict that the best way would be to use their own tools against them i.e. the Relay network, and shunt the bulk of their forces into Galactic Core to be torn apart by the black holes and novas there.

It would even give the Protheans their revenge, since they are the only organic race known to have cracked Relay technology; we'd have to build on their foundation, starting with the Conduit.

Worried. With a thousand of these things, drop dead and pray.
