I don't want to imply anything, but Shepard was out for two years, so how do you know?

Hopeful. Shepard's overcome too many supposedly insurmountable obstacles to be emo.

So having some depth and being human rather being some boring invincible hero is emo?

So having some confidence in yourself and belief in your own ability to complete the mission is somehow boring? Shepard is the pinnacle of humanity, saving it almost single-handedly not once, but twice! Shepard is far from a boring character, but also far from a "normal" human. For some, part of what makes a character heroic is his/her ability to be more than "human".

Subjectively speaking, I'd like a hero that isn't as emotionally unstable as the rest of us. To each, their own.

A bit of hyperbole on my part. Personally, I think it is the angle of doubt that rubs me the wrong way with both "worried" and "frustrated" responses. If a man/woman in Shepard's position, with his/her experience, is still plagued by doubt about what's to come, then my first response is that we're all screwed.

I selected "worried". I like the fact that my Shepard is unsure of herself, and apprehensive with regards to the impending Reaper war.
