At the request of EA, I made a video guide on how to get Ogreific Tactis on the final pull of DAJ on hard difficulty. Video quality is kind of laggy, sorry the capture program wasn't great.

Why do you have to do this on hard difficulty?

I got the "Ogreific Tactics" on normal.

But its an nice tactic, stunning them :) ;maybe a little bit overpowered this skills...

You can even win this hardest battle ( ogre +2 alphas) without such stuff.

You need 2 warriors and 1 mage.

With some micromanagement and some luck they will hit their comrades with the stone attack.

Use Martines Rally-Skill for less damage and heal all the time with the mage.

The Goal was to simply a way to do it on Hard.  You can get it a lot easier on a lesser difficulty, but that last pull on hard is very very tricky without a bard or 2 mages.

If you just want the achievement, there's no need to get it in that fight with the ogre and alphas, is it? Just fight any of the other ogre fights and have the healer use mass heal before making the killing blow to the last enemy in the fight. That's how i got it.

im with with you Isidor
iirc i was level 2 and only had pinning shot
focus fire, all 3 of my characters hdmassive ranged attacks + slow
my options were rather limited so yeah just heal up before giving the killing blow

nice to see others using some of the cooler abilites though
:)

Oh yes there is no reason, this is by far the absolute hardest pull to get the achievement on. I used it for 2 reasons,

1. To show the easiest way to do the pull on hard (It gave me some trouble)

2. If you had beaten the game but never got the achievement, You would be able to resume game and get it here.

Nice job, that fight gave me trouble on normal difficulty, though I didn't try to go for the achievement then.

And my characters were a level lower.

yeah to be honest though the levels aren't worth much when you get higher because you can't get the 3rd tier talents.

I have tried this in ALL ogre fights and still haven't gotten the achievement :(, so just to confirm:

as long as all your characters have been healed to 100% health when you land the killing blow, you can get hurt during the rest of the battle, yes?

First time I went for it, I thought I had healed all my character and went for the killing blow only to discover after the fact that my rogue was at 109/110 hit points.

I cried :(

@ Fipps: thankyouveeerymuch; I was beginning to think that you needed a "flawless victory"

@mordaedil: I think that was happening to me as well, and it does indeed suck all kinds of monkey-testes

Also if you are stuck on a save with just this pull left and can't seem to get it, the pull of 2 ogres where you unlock the warrior is actually much easier.

That fight was brutal for me. It was the first one I did, and had rogue/war/mage. Only CC was pinning shot and mighty blow :( And yeah, on hard.

Buff rogues.

As long as all characters have full health when the last mob dies.. you get the achievment. I focus on the Ogre first, then use Mass Heal as much as needed while taking down the last of the enemies. To get this I even forgo some combat rounds to use pots and make sure my health was topped up when taking out the last sliver of life on the last guy.

I did not have full health when the ogre went down, only when the last of the small fry went down.

My rogue.  I just felt generally weak compared to the other two characters in my group--warrior could take more damage and dish more damage pretty consistently, mage did just as much damage from range and could heal/buff/debuff as well.  My rogue couldn't stand up to any damage in melee and did piddling damage at range (and all the best ranged talents were impossible to get).

Yeah honestly the only rogue talent I've really liked is 100% counter one.

I'd really be interested in seeing a video of someone focusing down the ogre first and not CC'ing the alpha's it would be like Dragons Age journeys hardmode.

I personally think ya wanna take the ogre last, not first. Ya wanna get the enemy numbers down as fast as ya can to take away their ability to initiate Flanks soooner rather than later. It felt to me like if ya let them flank ya too much, you'll find yourself hard pressed trying to handle the damage long enough to take them down.

My 1 1/2 cents.
